Superb inversion of identity. I was shocked when I herd Joe was the son of Mr.King. Boot to the mouth of the establishment that turned Joe down in the begin'n. It wont change things for me. I see around image. I know its a complicated matter to a kid. You won me as a fan with you first works. I always thought you where genius Then again,I've been ahead of my time for a while now too, hahahah. Joe. Your comsopoliton to the new horror legacy. I welcome you here with arms out~
I've read 20th Century Ghosts and Heart Shaped Box before I even knew who his parents were. I think he is a good writer. Heart Shaped Box was okay, but I enjoyed the Ghosts anthology more.
Got back into sitting down and reading books after a few years of book drought.. I started with Joe HIll's Horns....Joe and Stephen...are mutha..effin..awesome.
Vicki, if you've read all of King's books, and didnt think they were better than Heart Shaped Box. Perhaps you should read Misery. Its 10x better than HSB.
Do the guy the courtesy to not immediately compare him to his father. I also think Joe Hill is a better writer then his dad. They are both entertaining enough, but Hill's pacing is better, and he is far less preachy then King. The action is original, and Hill doesn't resort so much to characters ongoing internal dialogue that the reader wants to vomit. But its not important who is better. They are two different writers who have their own strengths, and appeal to different people.
First of all, i'm not on here for an argument. Which is the reason why, I wasn't the one doing the "comparing". I was simply resonding to Vicki's post. The fact is, it's a matter of opinion and if you know anything about writing, you'll probably agree w/ what I posted.
Joe,You are so much like your mother Tabby,& in speaking,so like your dad,you have a style all your own, it should never be compared to your mom or dad's work. Every writer/story-teller has their own style,I'm very impressed with your work & energy! You are so alive & animated,I find you are a joy to read, & to watch in interviews! There is much for young writers to absorb through your works and interviews,I hope to see more of both!I await more by way of your books & in your interviews! Write!

I respect joe trying to sell stories without using his fathers name (king). Nice one I'll buy one of Joe's books.

I think he's a better writer than his dad. You don't believe me? Read his book, 'Heart-shaped Box.'
I've read every Stephen King book, except 'Misery,' and none of them were as good as 'Heart-shaped Box' IMHO.

I read Heat Shaped Box. Not that good.

@vickiormindyb No. He's not as good as his dad. His novels don't hurt the reader like Stephen King's novels do.
