the "lock and key" example is not used anymore, it is now commonly referred to as a "glove conforming to your hand".

It is still used but with qualifications - usually the "induced fit" model (similar to hand/glove ) is quoted.

i dont think i get it..
enzymes take in the right shaped substrates and then releasing them again??? what is the effect of that??? is it to combined 2 substrates together??? am not sure of the effect.. Help~

enzymes lower the activation energy needed, meaning the reaction can be performed at a much faster rate, without altering the reaction
