When someone says this is auto-tuned, it is because they can hear the flattening artifacts from the plugin's procedure. Stop defending Chris Colfer over something he didn't even have a part in. The engineer did the auto-tune and he didn't do a good job of it. Use your heads and stop being defensive.

im a hardcore classic rock fan, and i actually just came in this video to dislike it since i thought it would be terrible if it was on Glee.
But surprisingly, this was actually pretty good. They actually had the song covered alright with good harmonies and a nice lead vocal. Ive never watched this show before and i thought it was stupid, but i think im going to change my mind now after this video.

I love Chris's version of this song, he has so much talent going for him. I am all for Gleeks fighting, but sometimes you are taking it too far. Not everyone has to like Glee. Blackbird fly.

@krissyluvzcolfer You're being really defensive. I didn't say anything about him and his actual voice, I was talking about the engineering. I do mixing and mastering regularly and Antares auto-tune is in my plugin line-up, I know what it sounds like when it's used liberally instead of as a micro-tuner.
You need to gain some objectivity. I literally said nothing about the singer himself and you immediately assumed I was attacking his abilities. Calm down.

@MikaMeMe I'm guessing that you think that the only form of autotune is shit like Cher or T-Pain, but IT IS NOT!!! That's a way of using autotune, yes, in fact, it's probably more innovative and unique than what autotune is usually used for. What autotune is usually used for, is making people's singing sound better. it doesn't matter what note you actually sing, if autotune wants to hear an A, it will record your voice as if you sang an A. Autotune is a disgrace, it should be banned forever.

@MikaMeMe Auto-tune isn't a stylistic effect, dear, it's a plugin made by Antares (at least that's the industry standard). It can be used tastefully by employing the manual editor for the pitch envelope and not relying on automatic detection that hammers the signal to a specified key. Whoever the engineer was on this record used the plugin liberally and with minimal effort to cover his tracks. Also, you're talking to someone who owns the plugin. Do your research before calling people ignorant.
