  • played piano more than hes ever lived and im 20 times worse than he is. champ.

  • i play the piano, too. but this is pure genius, very amazing.

  • Wow!

  • Awesome!

  • this is just purely unbelievable the skill level of this kid.

  • Fantastic use of staccato here - reminds me strongly of Horowitz's version. Bravo, George.

  • he's not even reading music.. he memorized that sh!t!! pure brilliance!! astonishing!! Way to go kid!!

  • Woah!!

  • Can you see that the piano is shaking?

  • Very Impressive George!!

  • whaw!!

  • :0000000000000000

  • Wow, I enjoy watching you play so much. It inspires me to learn how to play the piano, although I have no hope of being able to play like this.

  • @ITACHIxbaby the only reason you couldn't play like this is that you believe you can't

  • Its freaking good!

  • Its freaking good!

  • amazing. very clear and much emotion. stunning for this age!

  • beethoven's my favorite...thanx for the invite...i hope to see the pathetique someday. :-) do you play it?

  • This is the best Beethoven Moonlight Sonata my ever heard!!!!!!!!

  • the best perfect

  • the best

  • Very nice. I wasn't able to perform that until I was 16. Keep it up but have fun.

  • wow... just wow

  • you sure are good !

  • Oh my god......

  • Great! I've practiced it, but can't do as much as you.

  • [I don't have any right to give advice on technique.] The difficulties of the tonic/dominant right hand arpeggios indicated by two grace notes and the G# as a full note value, I think [I don't have my score in front of me] may be obviated by striking the two grace notes together.

  • @kczapper says it all - "extremely hard to get perfect". George gets as close as is probably humanly possible. Beethoven marked the opening upwardsarpeggios to be played without pedal ["con sordino", that is, without lifting the dampers, the mechanism at that time probably still being operated by knee levers]. George follows this precisely which produces the right effect. Despite what some say, Beethoven had a very good understanding of how to write effectively for the piano.

  • You played this very fast but it certainly worked in your case, George. One of the difficulties is the strong dynamic contrasts which must, of course, be brought out, but which increase the level of technical difficulty.

  • the level of mezzo forte at the end was a little too exaggerated. I would suggest for the 2nd repetition of the sonata play just a little softer but keep the crescendos and all. Other than that very impressive and expressive for someone so young.

  • bravo.

keep working on it george, one day ill pay to see you in a concert and im really lookin forward to it.

  • whoaa, he's GOOD

  • Some tiny minor mistakes but it was

    almost PERFECT!!! good jooob!!!

    hehehehe

  • what language is this?

  • BRAVO! Fantastic!

  • this video is underestimated, only 4349 views, and this is one of the best interpretation of this piece on youtube, especially for 13 years old boy.

amazing talent, he will definitely be the world famous pianist.

  • pause at 0:19 love the face george! nice m3

  • i admire his tenacity, im pretty sure he had time when he just wanted to quit. GJ!!!

You give us asians a good name

  • .......I need to stop thinking im dreaming!!

    Too good to be true!

  • So much character and maturity for your age! I'm so very impressed!

  • Thanks again George.

  • BRAVO!!!

    il est épatant!

  • why are people giving him tips and advice. im pretty sure he knows what he's doing

  • Even though his performance is impressive, this piece is EXTREMELY hard to get "perfect".

  • Wow, Amazing job. The only things I can think of is at around 3:20ish make sure to make the left hand dramatic. I also notice that you seem to get slower when the hand stretching is uncomfortable for you.

  • i love it

  • MEJOR ??

    IMPOSIBLE !!!!

  • one word.

    amazing.

  • what a genius, i can't believe...

  • hooooooooooooooooooooolly crap

  • 13?!?!?!

    *faints*

  • wow, this is so amazing!!! it made me cry... thank you!

  • Hermoso.

  • amazing~

  • " ...he (Kempf) was pllaying and improvising at the keyboard as a small child; aged six he appeared at a Potsdam musical evening and played a Mozart sonata. He was only nine when he was sent to the Berlin Musikhochschule, where his skills in fugue improvisation and key transpositions impressed the examiners.." Christopher Breunig.

  • This kid will be better than kempf when george plays it you feel like someone is singing but when kempf is playing like singing with a violin but george will be better!!!

  • If wishes were horses, you'd be riding high.

  • I agree that George sings better, but Kempf has better tempo.

  • I really like the reaction to this piece. awesome song choice!

  • It was very good and i enjoyed the performance. I am in a picky mood so i will say a few things. I felt that it was slightly too quick and that made it hard to take in the emotional aspects of the piece, which would have been present through your playing at a slower tempo. also, places like 4:52 tend to drag, this is probably on purpose and if you want to keep it that way then so be it. I was amazed by the clarity of the music at that tempo, even if i didn't like the tempo. It showed off skills

  • George has a gift of finger clarity, but I would agree, sometimes he has the tendency to take a fast speed just because he can.. but as he matures in the future, he'll come to realize this

  • Love at 2.03' ! The way you are 'singing" with the music; syncopical!

I play this piece myself, but much slower than you of course!

It looks like it's an easy piece but it isn't at all!!!!

  • Wait a sec... looks easy? jk right?

The end (the really ending) is funny when he leans back.

  • oO!!!!!! I guess I must go practice

  • 13?!?!?!

    *faints*

  • i just deleted kempf movement on my favorites and added this

  • Hahaha. This is really good, but the kempf is better.

  • close call. kempf was older with more experience. and already this kid can do this. he is a chinese genius lol

  • People overestimate this piece. It's not a song Kempf mastered afters years of practice and experience. He could probably play this much earlier in his life already.

  • but we have no way of knowing. so for what we know, im sure this kid will be just as good, if not better than kempf by the time he is that old

  • you can't compare them, really.Kempf started studying at a gymnaisuim when he was 19.George already awsome

  • I too agree that Kempf is better! But I am really honored by your comparison that I've never dreamed of before, so thank you!

  • Anyone who states that you are better than Kempf is evidently trying to express a preference, not who is the better artist. The fact that your performance is being compared to Kempf's speaks only of your outstanding talent, not of any intented disrespect for Wilhelm Kempf who is a monumental presence and a universally established Beethoven scholar, specialist and interpreter. Thanks for sharing your outstanding talent so generously on Youtube and congratulations on your ever growing fan base!
