Hey i have a few bucks to spend and i dont know weather to buy xbox 360 or ps3. I want to buy whatever is the cheapest pretty much. i know ps3 is deerer then xbox 360 but im getting cod black ops and i have wireless at my house but i dont know much about how much the internet costs on ps3 and xbox 360. and i want to play cod black ops online what is the best option?
heeey ?? .. Every time i Click Bridgeconnection it Says To create a network bridge, you must select at least two Internet or local network connections that are not used for sharing Internet access. Can anyone Help me please (:
hey im kind of confussed do u have to have internet at all how would it work if u dont have internet atall im goin to get me a crossover cable tomorrow where do u plug everything at...
OH god, at first I went through this short set up, but found I had bought network cables. Exchanged those for crossover and still same error on my ps3 3.15 80gb.
Please what is going wrong here. I can't stand not being online. Plus the wifi isnt connecting to the signal. Help me. How do I do this. What could be wrong?
GUYS can u help me i don't have a wireless router or a router i use a vodafone dongle but how can i set it up to my ps3 please send me a clip how to do it thanks
What do you mean? Are you asking if you will still be able to access the internet on your laptop? If so then yes, you can be on xbox live and internet explorer at the same time.
A crossover cable is a type of Ethernet cable. It connects PC to PC (your Xbox to your computer) whereas a straight through cable (the one that came with your Xbox) connects a router to a PC (in this case your Xbox is the PC)
I also have a router that wont let me in cause i need to enable it with a mac adress so i dont no witch would be easyer or buying a crossover cable. my network is dlink so if you could help me out that would be awesome
why do u need the chord and where do u hook it up to for this to work i got everything else u r saying but dont no where to hook the chord up nd when i bridge connection it says to create a network bridge yo must select LAN or High speed internet connections that are not being used by internet connection sharing.??? please help me out thanks
I got a question if you could help please. I have a wireless signal linksys, in my house that my computer picks up great signal. But my ps3 not so great. Is there a way to use my computers signal instead of my ps3's? I don't have a router I don't even pay for internet. would a router help?
So you use your neighbors internet on your PC? If so, you can just follow this video's instructions and let your PC give your PS3 your neighbor's wireless signal.
What modem are you talking about? The $100 wireless receiver for the Xbox is simply that, a wireless receiver. Your modem should be plugged into your cable outlet and then your wireless router should be plugged into your modem. For doing this on XP, check out videos by Pacwar3000.
theres no way a cable is going reach from the router to my ps3. it can obtain the ip but the connection fails. i've reset a dozen times but it still doesnt work. wtf?
Man thank you ....... works in my son x360 wow i have wi-fi for free and now this free games demos .you r the best ... i use just ethernet cable ........thanks
I have seen a bunch of other videos that say you need an ethernet cable. they didnt say anything about a crossover cable. are they the same thing. Which one should i buy.
You need a crossover cable. There's no way around it. You're spending 10 bucks instead of 90. They are not the same thing, a crossover cable is an ethernet cable, that's probably why you are confused. There are two types types of ethernet cables: a straight through cable and a crossover cable. Your Xbox/PS3/router came with a straight through cable.
my ps3 slim 120 didn't come with an ethernet cable but. i bought a Network Cable from walmart . Belkin . and it worked just fine it dosent say that it is a crossover cable.
Hmm, I´ve been trying like hell to get online with my PS3 but failed everytime. I have to try this solution and see if it works. One question: Do I plug in the ethernet cable from my PS3 to my wireless router or router to PC?
No you will first have to buy a wireless router, then you can use a laptop/desktop as a wireless adapter for your xbox, saving you from buying the $90 one.
i have a cricket broadband modem and i have everything set up but it times out on ip ive tried it trough a router and now im trying through the labtop i have everythin right on i think but i have an ethernet cable its the one that comes with the ps3 thats the only thing that i think could be the problem according to your method is the one provided with a systems a straight through or a crossover and if not do i NEED a crossover?
well iv just moved to germany and while i wait for my internet to be fitted i just use a dongle use the ps3 lead no bridgin works fine for me. Little slow on the updating but other then that fine. And befor i get comments "Not Possible" "Bull Shit" i am sat here in a online with COD 5 that way just been killed a bunch of times typin this so there u go lol
No it wont. The cable that comes with teh xbox is a straight through ethernet cable and when you try to bridge you will get IP failure in your Xbox live test.
A straight through cable can only connect a PC (which is what an xbox is considered) to a router. A crossover cable can connect a PC to another PC. It is impossible to use a straight through cable, I'm sorry.
New hardware, especially on new motherboards, allows the Ethernet port to identify if its a straight or crossover, and can use either to do the same job. As it just uses a different set of wires.
There is no need anymore with today hardware to get different types of cable!
you dont even need to bridge the conntection just hook it to your comp and pc make sure you have a connection on your pc and sign into xbox live...i do it everyday
Ahh what? So I need to purchase a cross-over cable? Haha, I've been searching all over the internet about this. I was kinda hoping there was some way I could do it without spending money. Thanks for the help :)
My 360's connection is saying 'failed' on my IP adress, even after I went out and bought a cross over cable. I mean, I've bridged the connections and everything like you said, but I'm still having problems. Please help me!
Oh! Update! It turned out that patch cable is NOT crossover cable. A crossover cable WILL do the trick. A standard cable will NOT as so many videos fail to note.
will ethernet cable work because thats what i tried to use im also using a wireless internet connection with computer im connecting to my ps3 and i dont no if that has something to do about it
Dude, if you've got a PlayStation 3, you've already sidestepped Microsoft's 100 "barrier trick" (you spend 100 dollars less now, but you loose it all when you go to buy a ninety dollar adapter).
Your PlayStation 3 is ready to browse the internet on WiFi or use any other network resources out of the box.
Actually from my experience, the PlayStation 3 has FANTASTIC wireless lan capabilties. I've seen it 30 feet from a router with like four walls or other reasonably thick objects in between and it tells me 100% signal strength. I have yet to get that setting my laptop five feet from the router On wireless.
a 10-15% signal strength is win for me and most of the signals that are picked up are blocked, need a password key,or have firewall protection.....and 30 feet 100% signal strength is kinda bull not gunna happen the signal gets weaker as you get further away and the more objects the signal again gets even weaker so your router must have great or you have the best ps3 in the world
It must've been the best PlayStation 3 in the world, because 75% with another one in the same place was all I got. Or maybe I was mistaken. I'm thinking it was the best PlayStation 3 in the world.
I am running WI FI through ps3 at the moment. If i use this setup will it increase my ps3 connection because my pc wireless card has more range. I am asking u this because my connection is poor through ps3, but not on laptop. My ps3 is 60gb by the way. Good vid
what is it called when for example i play on my playstation 3 or on a laptop and it has a wireless connection with a computer.
so while i play on my laptop or ps3, the other person on the computer is doing something thats taking up alot of ram. my laptop or ps3 starts to get slow and lags like hell.
what is that called?? is it the signal strength? or what?? please i need to know. how do i make it better?
That is bridging. It looks like the signal is being weakened because someone is using the internet while you are on yur PS3. To fix this you can get a better router such as a wirelsss N router or just have the person not go in the internet while you are playing PS3.
hey thanks heaps but mine keeps saying to bridge the connections i must select two highspeed or lan connections that are not being used by the internet wtf duz that mean can any 1 help plz.
you should check if your wireless connection is set on shared. mine said that before when i let it on shared but now that i disabled sharing, its ok. hope it helped
Thanks to your video, I now have Xbox Live running well via the Crossover cable. I already bought the Wifi adapter and had a rare problem where the 360 wouldn't recognize the Wireless Mode in the settings.
can i direct connect an xbox with a ps3 using a crossover cable?
earlysauce 1 week ago
I FOUND A FIX!
1. Get a job.
2. Cash paycheck.
3. Order Internet service from your local ISP.
4. Buy a router.
5. Connect ethernet from modem to router.
6. Connect all of your splendid devices to your router!
(I'm still stuck on step 1) -.-
