  • what is Tim Staffel up to now days?

  • @kdj997 Well,he's still alive! Thats all I know

  • I was at this gig...(twenty years ago!!?)...I had bought tickets to see Extreme (remember them?) some months before but when The Cross announced a show the same night, there was no competition.

  • por dios!!! EXCELENTE ESTO!!!!!!!

    DE DONDE LO SACASTE?????

    ESPECTACULAR!!!!!!

  • Who are the other three guys (one to the left on bass, one to the right of Tim S. on guitar, and one on keyboard, up in the left corner)?

It's kind of ridiculous that "Smile" - a three man band - somehow got doubled.

    The more the merrier?

(paraphrase: the more, the bigger the laughter?)

Did the band clone its members?

If "YES of course...anything can be done these days; come one mate, it's 2011 AD", then:

    how was/is that done?

Something to tell the grandkids about.

    I mean my clones.

  • I think Tim Staffel much better when compared with Paul Rodgers.

  • wooooww!!! stuvist ahi?!! deveras muchas gracias por compartirlo!!! es una joya esto!!

  • I was there. It was amazing to see SMILE.

  • Great video. I am a Queen and Smile fan too. Who are these musicians besides Tim, Brian and Roger?

  • @handfullofstrings

    The Cross

  • @handfullofstrings

Hi, they are the guys from The Cross (Roger's former band) (:))

  • smile and queen

  • truth they must become smile again..because paul rodgers sucks!!!

without freddie they must going back"

  • @vermilionx Um, Paul is a legendary singer, how exactly does he suck?

  • @SigandGibbs legendary singer..like bobo dylan...i dont think so, maybe youre a fan of him, not of queen...did you see their concerts??? nothing like freddie...even when you see a big screen ...and guess what...frddie appears... his must greatest song is ALL RIGHT NOW...but you cant compare with...we are the champions,, for examp`le

  • @vermilionx I am a much bigger fan of Queen than any other band. But he is one of the most famous singers around. He was one of Freddie's favorites. And no shit the concerts weren't like they were with Freddie, they did it on purpose. How many times did Brian and Roger say they didn't want someone to replace Freddie? That no one could? So they did something entirely different, and it was still amazing.

  • @SigandGibbs so why they play songs of queen...if you see their concerts...is for QUEEN, songs, fans even brian solos, or roger solos...men i miss mr deacon

you say that of p. rodgers...i a bigger fan of Queen too, but they lost is strength, are older, yes, but why keep making album, theyre rich...like said Mr. Deacon, after freddies die...nothng to do, and i know that P.R. was a favourite singers of freddie but..he not chosing him

  • I was at the previous night with Roger Daltrey -awsome gig!!

  • Who thinks T. Staffel was secretly hoping that Brian and Roger would ask him to front Queen after this concert?

  • @sherhrtatk I do. It would be the best thing that would ever happen to him.

  • @sherhrtatk : Nou doubt about that..

  • yes yes smile-idiots how posts here!

  • I love Smile songs!

  • I can't believe I'm seeing this footage! I was there, only 16 at the time but was fully aware of what a moment this was. Roger Daltrey appeared as a special guest the night before, then Brian May and Tim Staffel on the final night. Both gigs were advertised exclusively for Queen Fan Club memebers only. Would love to see footage of the version of Led Zeps 'Rock n Roll' that they played that night. Unbelievable footage here, I'm still in disbelief!

  • I never knew this happened, until I found a FANTASTIC version of 'If I Were A Carpenter" from this event. It's so great...

  • It did happen.. I was there!

  • This is really Tim Staffel on the stage? I can't believe it it had ever happened.

  • yes... it's Tim..

  • Me too, I never knew they did this reunion. I had wished for it tho.

  • in fact, the freddie's body had become an ash. but yes, you are right.

  • it's gold

  • I think Adam Lambert should get the hell away from Queen and let Tim come in.

    Queen + Tim Staffel....just right

  • Umm... no.

  • Na just call it Smile

  • Or just call it smile again

  • no tim is going to ruin it and make hippie songs

  • but that was mainstream in the 60's hen they wrote this

  • @pfootball43 .....Great idea! I wondered the same thing. How perfect would that be! He's got the voice, as well as the history of playing w/ B & R before they became the phenomenal QUEEN. They could call themselves Almost Queen! Just a thought....

  • Holy crap this is AMAZING! I think I've heard of this reunion but never actively searched for video of it. Much thanks for this and I really enjoy this song.

  • that was amazing, i was there and cant believe that its on youtube. was this the same time that brian came out dressed as elvis ? or am i thinking of another gig ? great stuff

  • I believe that gig was when he played the Montreux Jazz Festival. But don't quote me on that.

  • the song is called earth an original smile song

  • What's the name of the song.

  • Earth

  • Cool! Tim always did have a good voice. I prefer Roger's, I have to admit, but Tim is sounding great here.

  • Incredibleeee to see them together :)

    And a really great song.

I have the aMIGO version =)

  • would u believe me if i told u tim is my construction tutor?

    look him up on wikipedia=]

  • why isn't Staffell in the new album, instead of Paul Rodgers? And why have I never heard about this reunion?

  • because Staffell was never a part of Queen, and chances are he woulndt want to sing Queen songs. Brian and Roger must obviously enjoy working with Paul. Chances are you never heard of this reunion simply because it wasnt a very big deal to the general public.

  • tim is playing bass (the singer)

  • I was at this gig - it was amazing!!

  • wow I really like this rendition of this song

  • great band and great song!!!!!

  • Smile was an excellent band. I am surprised Tim, Roger and Brian didn't try and reform after this.

  • Three lead guitars!?

  • Awesome video, Brian May is truly an amazing guitar player.

  • Si son realmente... una verdadera joya. Parecen, no lo puedo negar. Gracias!

  • ¿Cómo que parecen? Es que lo son...
