  • Originally released in September 1943, just as Famous Studios (formerly Max Fleischer's studio) was abandoning its Miami facilities to return to New York. Plenty of wartime references (air raid shelters, First Aid courses, tire shortages, Jeeps, "Spinach- 17 points" {most canned goods and food products were rationed, and the only way you could buy them was with cash AND points [coupons] from a ration book}).

  • I'd never seen this one before.SO funny but also SO well done! Thanks for posting it!

  • Yeah, Popeye, the cow is prettier than Olive. But it's still sick and wrong to kiss an animal.

  • Does this hint that Popeye discovered hentai long before the Japanese:)

  • @schizoidboy the cow bit or the censored drawing bit?

  • @schizoidboy I was thinking the censored drawing but now that you mention it... The horse asking "how about pitching us a little moo..." does make me wonder;)

  • @schizoidboy well yeah that, but also the fact that he was kiccing a cow and when he ran to Olive and saw how ugly she is, he went back to kissing the cow XD

  • Most insane rendering of William Tell Overture, and that's including Spike Jones' version

  • thanks!!!

  • Even back then, censors were ruthless.

  • The Final Black And White Popeye Cartoon.
