  • Maybe the world wouldn't be so fucked up if the Indians would've prevail.

  • Lisasdo is fairly ignorant and the three people evicted were NOT EVER members of the Tribe. The current 'faction' is the one recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and there has already been an Indian lands determination done saying the is a reservation and it can be used for a casino...

  • The dominant society uses situations like this to create divisions in the native comminity. Is this more about per cap and who gets it...? Or, is it really a soveignty issue?

  • Part 2 - The "sovereignty" issue should be non-existent as the property and who has the rightful ownership is still in the courts. The current Jamul tribe is a tribe without land.

  • It's both. The persons removed from the property do not want the casino and were the original tribal council. The current tribal faction forced them out of the tribe and then forced them off their property. So yes the per cap will go up. Problem is the properties and homes were willed to their descendants. The property is not a reservation only land held in trust for the original seven families of 1/2 Jamul blood. Not one of the current tribal members lives on the property.

  • This is a personal email that I received from Jason Pinto. I thought I'd post it here so all can see the type of person that we are dealing with (this is verbatim):

    ==========

    When a person of any law enforcement asks you to leave

    a property that you blatantly tresspass on, and you

    refused to do so... duh you're gonna get pepper

    sprayed.

  • (continued)

    Chairman Lee Acebedo did not lie to Diann Jacobs or

    the so-called "Jamulians," our council overrode his

    decision, he was not authorized to make. After all, the Tribe is a Sovereign Democratic Nation!

    Please do us all a favor and tell the truth, know your

    laws for it was your forefathers who wrote them in the

    blood of our Ancestors.

  • (continued) You and your constituents only had a glimpse (just a glimpse) of the bull shit our people have endured for the past 500 years. And you say we "sullied" the name Jamul....did you even know that Jamul is a Kumeyaay term which means....water, sweet.... If being "Jamulian" is what you and your nazi party represent then it is YOU who has sullied the name, not only the name of Jamul but the United Sates and for which it stands for. Thank the creator, we were made Kumeyaay!
  • (continued)

    Fuck you very much, Jason Pinto "True Jamuligan"

    P.S. We're gonna take our land back and set it free.

    ==========

    For someone who is so "proud" if his heritage I ask why did you change your last name from your birth name of Toggery? This Indian pride is simply a charade to prostitute the tribe to Lakes Entertainment.

  • Windeef all of a sudden you care about what happens to indians. That's sad.

  • cpinto-

    I care more deeply than you can imaging- injustice is wrong no matter who is doing it.

  • I am sad that people have been torn apart and trusts broken. Karen and Walter losing everything that they love made me cry. I am sad that this happening across the country. The anger and hate is soul wrenching. Seeing Native Americans in this light has broken my belief that Indians had a sort of holiness to them. I am sad to find out that they can be just like the next greedy human. I am sad to lose this Naïveté.

  • I really do hope that you can find some happiness in this life. I am sorry bad things happened before any of us were born, but this hate and animosity will not be cured with money. Building a casino on holy land doesn't set it or you free.

  • A lot of these pictures were from the Union Tribune photographer. Is he a member of the JAC? Did he provide any pics to the JAMUL (Kumeyaay word) Indian Village? Negative good buddy.

  • Walter and Karen don't speak for the whole tribe. I have a voice to it's called voting, something we learned from the white man. JAC is holding Walter and Karen down just has they have for the past 100 years. Negativty a bad influence.

  • I agree with justinieweinie. Federal Indian Law is a specialty that takes time to learn. UCLA has a program through their extension program on Indian Law, I reccomend it. Many Tribes have Tribal Police, and if you called them goons you would be looking at the back of a police car. If this is these people being peaceful, I would hate to see them being violent. I heard they were calling people stupid and asking where they bought their degrees, calling them candy apple indians

  • To even make comments about Indian law, you should study. These are laws that your forefather have wrote in the blood of our ancestors. And the truth of the matter is, this is Indian land, federally recognized by your government! If we as a tribe sully the name "Jamul," then you sully the name the United States, and for which it stands. So when you continue to listen to people like Patrick Web and Diann Jacobs, know this, "YOU ARE BEING LIED TO!" The True "Jamuligan" Jason Pinto

  • Jason, natives should not have to ask for "white people's permission" to build businesses within their own sovereign nations. The sad thing is that some natives have lost their connection to the land. wYour casino will be constructed over the former resting places of your relations. Will the ghosts move with the houses? I doubt the dead will rest in peace when the new casino is built. Enjoy your nice house and fat percapita - but, watch the side of the road late at nigt when you drive down 94!

  • Nothing will be built over any dead, that is silly nonsense brought on by 2 dumb indians and an attorney grasping at straws. What exactly is jason watching for on the side of the road, all the drunk Jamulians coming from local bars?

  • Leon ASSabedo and crew have prostituted themselves for the almighty dollar. Pathetic.

  • Does that make Lakes the Tribes pimp? Dolla dolla bill yall.

  • No, I'd say that makes them leaches....

  • A great American tragedy. Native Americans being evicted form their tribal home, by their "own" people. SAD!!!

  • tragedy for 2, profit for 53. Majority rules.
