  • sounds good and looks good,,, all it needs is some bigger tires

  • @ARRIVALADELINCUENSIA Thanks. Yes. Bigger tires would be a first purchase if you plan on real off-roading

  • what a car! This is something really needed in Texas. Off-roading is a must ;)

  • nice runner! im sure if you would of had some muds you could of gone through that no prob. i cant wait to get some muds on mine!

  • @kewl192 I agree! To tackle this kind of terrain, soe muds would be perfect. But we were real surprised at how well it did to without!

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @texasGarage were those just the stock tires on it? if it was then it did very excelent!! i have a 2nd gen 1990 runner. the mud tires i want to get are the Hankook Dynapro MT. A buddy of mine has them on his FJ and i seen what they can do. going rock crawling they dont chunk have a strong sidewall and they self clean very well.

  • @kewl192 Yeah. It was all stock, a media car. We were all real impressed at how well it did with stock tires and all! Can't beat these 4Runners!

We'll have to do a rock crawling video one day ;)

  • Think you need better tires. I had the same problems taking it out with my runner on stock . After I put a new set of Rocky Mountain ATS, runs like a champs. :)

  • Civicboy123 do your homework the 4runner has a body on frame not uni body

  • I love my new 2011 4runner, even coming from my 2001 Xterra. but the stock tires on my Trail model are crap. but I have been through some easy mud with no problems.

  • Thanks, you just saved me 40,000.

  • I got sticker shock today when I looked at the MSRP of the 2011 4wd 4runner. Looks like I won't be buying one for another few years to come.

  • lots of fat ass rednecks in this vid

  • Id rather have a pathfinder or explorer really

  • I have a 2000 4runner....seems the new ones are to fat and heavy,,less capable...mines never been pulled outta anything. 27500 miles still runs as new.

  • @daverunner That's fantastic!

  • @daverunner I own that identical vehicle. Very capable and if you watch the entire video you'll see it wasnt pulled out either. The only drawback is the stock tires are complete $hit

  • @daverunner I have to totally agree with your here. The new 4runners are quite worthless 4 wheeling, and not to mention the new 4runners are all built on a unibody chasis. The 3rd gen 4runner is no doubt the best gen of 4runners out there. I love the diff lock on mine. You can't beat it, and its unstoppable.

  • @civicboy123 Incorrect statement that its unibody, still body on frame construction per website. Also, get the optional locking rear diff if you are going to go mudding, thats a big mud hole to try especially with tires that are designed for comfort and economy

  • @daverunner they arent more fatter but they are a very heavy suv but this guy just cant drive it properly, he need to use the crawl control or something. I have checked out this car and it is 1000 times better and way more powerful than the 2000 4runner. not saying that yours is bad or anything.

  • @daverunner even with the super charger on mine they are more powerful,,,,just dont look as capable,,,just sayin

  • @daverunner do you ever even drive the thing? my car is a 2009 and has over 50K miles...that's a lot, but 27K seems like nothing for an 11 year old car

  • yep ,tires make a world of a difference, when i first got my 86 4runner with trailcats on it, i thought that every body was just hypin it up, but once i got my toyo mt's it changed my whole perspective on the good ole 4runner!

  • Just like the rest of the people with too much money. Not a bad choice for an offroad vehicle though

  • @Mynameistommy510 what are you talking about, people with too much money?

  • @texasGarage he means the average person with an average income isn't going to buy a brand new vehicle and go play in the mud with it, causing the vehicle to deteriorate faster.

  • ahh not much of a four runner fan i just wanted to se another one get stuck wheres the Jeep? lol

  • @bluewolfsoldier1987 lol it did a good job.. Would like to take one of the new Grand Cherokee's down there and see how that fairs

  • @texasGarage you should really you should do that i would like to see this, all jokes aside.

  • @bluewolfsoldier1987 it didst get stuck. maybe slowed down but not stuck. and it had high way tires on it.

  • haha close call, but i think my 4R could have eaten up that puddle and aksed for more...

97 4runner-3in revtek lift, autolockers, muds, magniflow exhaust w/ snorkle

  • believe me,If i have a chance to show you my 4runner 2009 monster 4 wheel drive...

you can learn a lot and swear it made a lot of differences as soon you replace the wheels...but still nice video as 4runner community....

  • @valuesrespect1 Thanks!

Would love to check out your 4Runner by the way... any vids up? website plug?

We really like this thing... with some real off road tires, I have no doubt it'd be amazing!

  • Is this 4WD ? And did you use 4WD high ? Also the new 2010 4runner looks crapy ! I like the 2002-2009 versions plus it is too long the fucken added a third row. This is not a good off roader if it is to long. If you want a third row buy a Sequoia.

  • those are not offroad tires

  • whats up with all these new 4runners gettin stuck. I thought this was THE SUV...im sorry but i'll stick to the REAL SUV. my 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo with selec trac 4wd

  • @sexyboi142

You drive a 96 Grand Cherokee? Good. I have a good news for you here.

    watch?v=h5xEZjW9Zuk

I hope you will still be able to enjoy your Grand Cherokee.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS ...i could've went all my life without knowing this..and i have been rear ended before and no fire goddamnit..this just ruins my day

  • @sexyboi142

Sorry, bro, but just for your safety, I thought you'd need to know it.

Maybe it was better for you not knowing, but hell, who knows, man, this knowledge might come in handy someday or what not...

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS i drove my porsche around today, afraid to take my jeep out and saw lots of GC and that gas tank is right behind the bumper but on all the jeeps i saw that was just the 2wd models...i have a 4wd model. but none the less the configuration is near the same :(

  • @sexyboi142

...well, I'm not sure how they are any different, but nonetherless, what are you going to do with your GC anyway. You think you will still be able to drive that thing someday..?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS Well It's usually garaged half the year, but i recently started driving more often, everyday infact. Now that I have this info, i don't want to sell ot and risk someone losing their life in MY vehicle, so i guess i'm just gonna keep her garaged forever now, and take her out once a month to keep the fluids running through the systems. -sigh- I wonder if it was ever recalled to fix this issue.

  • @sexyboi142

I'm sorry that you had to come to this conclusion. I just wanted to see what the actual owners would think of this info, and didn't think you'd take it this much seriously, so I apologize.

And as far as I know, Chrysler never did any recall on this.

I know how you feel and I can see you are quite a good man with a good heart, but seriously? You'd just keep it yourself? Dude, you could still make money out of it and buy a newer GC or other vehicle!!

  • @sexyboi142

No one would blame you even if you sold it. And it's not like getting rear ended is something that happens all the time.

It's just, you have no reason to crucify yourself like this, if you do not feel comfortable with the car anymore.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS yea well this GC has been in my family since it was new. But having this car for 14 years or so and being rear ended maybe 5times and no explosions but the fact that it could happen scares me and i only drive this car in the fall/winter and keep the cayenne garaged during the winter thats why i have these 2 trucks but driving a GC in the snow, ice possibly raises the crash factor correct? I could actually never bring myself to sell this car and belive me i've tried lol

  • @sexyboi142 umm, its called stupid drivers, i could take my 96 4runner through that and i just have worn mud and snows.

  • oh, thank you.

  • now pressure wash the undercarriage so I don't get a dirt cloud in my face when I work on the car.

  • I love your replies to those stupid people who have to criticize everything.

    Good video!

  • its badass the way it sits now,,,,but it would be WAYYY batter with a lift kit, some actual mud tires, and some loss weight.....keep up the cool vids!

  • why would you take a brand new 35k car mudding?? if you wanna go mudding buy a beater lol. I just bought the sr5 model, its a beautiful car

  • dont mud your truck it will break trust me i had a 2009 4 runner mudded it and mud gets in the trans and all kinds of bad places buy a old jeep and mud it not your brand new 4runner

  • i agree with rotahead put ground grip tyres on it and it would make it throught easy as shit

  • Well then it does one hell of a job getting through this mud hole with close to street/SUV tire. To me the 4RUNNER is the only true SportUntilityVehicle left. The Chevy Trailblazer, Dodge Larado or Ford Explorer is close to hilarious as a an off roader unless you consider grave roads? LOL I'll have to a search for these running in their stock form in mud.

  • Sure would help if you boys mounted real tires on this 4Runner. I have Kelly TSR Safari's 265-75-17 on mine and it would not have had problem with this mud at all. If you want to play in mud get rid of that street rubber and save on REVERSE!!

  • @rotaxhead the point is that it's a stock vehicle... plus it's a press car... we can't mount tires to it.

  • Jeez what a terrible video.

  • @primetimeafp thanks.

Check out more of our stuff at txgarage.com

  • Did you have the lockers engaged?

  • @AZdroptop LOL

  • great job,, i have to give Toyota credit they have done some great construction on the new 4runners, they really kept true to the offroading DNA in those

  • @spankybrandonf did u knw it was named best four wheeler of 2010

  • @mexico12ism yes i had heard that, i would love one, but i just cant afford it.

  • @spankybrandonf yeah my family does too we actually went to go look at them we found one with third row seats which we need and it was $34,000 and after interest it was $42,000 it is too expensive for us too so we might get the Honda Pilot

  • BAD VIDEO. dont bother trying another.

  • @zacharydrift07 Thanks. if you liked the video you should subscribe to our newsletter at txgarage.com and follow us on twitter @txGarage

Also feel free to subscribe to our YouTube channel as we'll be posting many more videos!

  • @TheSmartdude11 -- well I u (or someone u know) lives in Texas and has a Touareg, hit us up and we'll put it to the test!

  • touareg would go right through that :P

  • @TheSmartdude11 i am sorry but i don't think it could go with ease maybe with a bit of a struggle though

  • nice videoooo. that is how you test a 4x4

  • pretty good for street tires :]

  • The pit is deceitfully deep. Also, this was our first trip through any mud in a stock 4Runner with stock street tires. We didn't wanna dive too far off into the deep end as the car was due back the next day.

If you would like to suggest a better pit for a totally stock car in Texas, we'd be more than happy to take a look at it for our next 4x4 video. This time, we worked with what we knew.

  • that mud pit is weak!

  • @jonathanthornton01

not to mention that the guy in the 4x4 F250 eagerly waiting to pull us out said he was surprised that the 4Runner made it through. He was telling us the whole time about all the 4x4 trucks and SUV's he's pulled out including just the day before.

  • I'm lovin the video! The 4Runner was loads of FUN!
