  • Mark how could I have missed this! My all time favorite hymn, with my all time favorite organist playing it! AMAZING job man, you ROCK Mark! Thanks for giving us this, I love it!!!!

    Abe

  • @abedbush Abe. Tisk, tisk tisk. I'm asking myself the same question, of ALL people how could YOU have missed this? Abe, have you subscribed to my channel and gone through all of my videos? I've recorded (recently) a second version of this on a pipe organ. Have you seen the newest version? C'mon Abe yer gettin' rusty hahaha!! Glad you enjoyed it buddy, and always good to hear from you. Now SUBSCRIBE to my channel and see what you've missed! LOL!

  • Great playing man. You really know how to make the organ sing!!

  • @AeolianSkinner1983 Thanks buddy!

  • How wonderful to see a talented man play with superb registration and a rythmical indulgence, a sombre occasion ? perhaps on timing but supurb none the less.

good on you brother, your a rarity!

  • @paps9 Thank you kind sir! Enjoy the other 95 vids that I have here SUBSCRIBE please...LOL!

  • I remember playing this at St.Pauls in Bham for several funerals of my friends. It was a song I could put on "auto pilot" because I knew it so well and did not want to break down while on the organ.

  • I "retired" from church service when we moved out to the "burbs". Yes, there quite a few nice organs in Atlanta and some have been featured on the "Pipedreams" . Are you sure you want peach cobbler that has been X-rayed at the airport??

  • @Georgiaorganist Wish we got 'Pipedreams' here, but it's Orlando go figure....I miss that program. I've got to come up to 'Hotlanta'. I first must make a connection or two, so that I'm shown those fine instruments around town. I'll put in a call to the Dean of your local AGO chapter and perhaps this summer I'll get up there.

  • I'm sorry, I was under the impression that this was an electronic organ.

  • @mitchelllou2 It's a digital organ with 2 ranks of pipes. See the stoplist in my 'Hanover' video.

  • I find myself begging you for more. Your version is just between you and the listener.

  • There's nothing to compare to a large pipe organ played right.......if I get to Orlando I'll be sure to visit!

  • @Georgiaorganist Thanks! Where in GA. are you playing? Any good organs where you are? When you come down, bring some peach cobbler!

    Mark

  • Tell us what you are? What church? What state? What organ?

  • @Chesterbarnes1 What I am ??!! Sorry, not getting that question at all, it must be the late hour (3 am EST). The church: St. Peter/St. Paul (Catholic) Winter Park (Orlando) The state: Florida The organ: Walker Technical 118 'ranks' Reverberation: Four seconds I hope that answers your questions.........

    Mark

  • Amazing performance! What arrangement is this, or were you harmonizing on the spot? Very heartfelt playing, I loved it!

  • Fat boy was harmonizing kinda on the spot (I rehearse these arrangements of mine ENDLESSLY before committing to a recording or live performance). Thanks for your comments, and how've you been? Eagerly waiting for more posts from you! Later dude..........

  • I always love seeing your posts because you bring hymn playing to a whole new level!

Hopefully I'll have some new videos in the next two or three weeks...

    Thanks!

    -Cody.

  • Good and thanks! I just don't wish to be boring while doing this that's all considering my abilities are limited (notice how I don't use my left hand as often as I should in the other newer videos, plus I don't read music:treble clef only).

  • YOU ARE ALWAYS A BLESSING

  • Wow! Thank you so much for that!

  • My word, this is wonderful.

  • Why thank you Sir!

  • Spine tingling brilliancy. Your tempo and registration gives the hymn what it deserves, respect.

Thank you Mark for sharing your talent.

    Steve

  • Thank you Steve for your most kind words.

    Mark

  • OMG, the most PERFECT playing of O God Our Help In Ages Past I have EVER SEEN! Played in complete solemn perfection, and I love how you add the trumpets as solo periodically throughout. This hymn is another one of my all time favorites, and your technique is FLAWLESS!!! Your registration could not be better, and it increases throughout which is amazing and which I will enjoy over and over again. Mark thank you so much for sharing with us, you are incredible!!!!!

    Abe

  • Thanks Abe! I'm going to have to listen to this again to see what you're talking about. What I do remember is that I didn't play it as I really wanted to. Thanks again buddy!
