@funkatic he's g string went out of tune because he frequently used his vintage tremolo which really makes strings go out of tune when used and he even made his vintage tremolo float. He should have used a floyd rose tremolo but he is still cool. I'm also planning on floating my vintage tremolo and changing my tuners in to locking tuners because I don't have a floyd rose tremolo.
@snakeweirdo I'm not saying that floyd rose are better. What I meant to say is if he's into whammy abuse, he should use floyd rose. Strat trem and Floyd Rose have advantages and disadvantages. So you should choose the kind of guitar that suites your playing style and needs.
Superb tone is right man. That strat sings and purrs and screams all in one. Great playing and that's what a great strat should sound like. That mellow woody tone. Those small frets really help with this tone. those hot pickups and big frets and Rose trems, just won't do this.
I love how he works his dynamics. Between his picking and his volume control he has huge control over his expressions. He does alot of horn like swells. Coming up in volume and back down all on the same note. I love it. Oh, and his tone is just SICK. ;)
Absolutely awsome as always, i met thomas at the british music fair promoting hughes and kettner amps in 1994 just the release of his simplicity album, what a nice guy!!! what an awesome musician he was a fantastic inspiration to me in pursuit of playing like an acomplished musician as he is
good luck thomas! hope we can meet again if i catch you touring sometime!
very hendrixy clean sound a bit like hear my train a comin at the start. Its so nice to hear a modern guitar player who can play a melody and use the tech stuff with a bit of taste.Good for you Tom,stay true to your music and keep away from g3
He must have the most amazing guitar sound. The sustain is awsome. Once in a while u come across a player like this that puts shredding to shame. He has the best Feel! COME ON WHO AGREES WITH ME!!!
That was beautiful. I just saw him demoing amps at MusicLive yesterday and was blown away by his brilliance. That is how I love to hear a strat played.

@OfficialArchie You cannot be serious in thinking Floyd Rose is better. Floyd Rose, IF ANYTHING, goes out of tuning.
No, it's not what tremblock you have, it's about how it's set up.. Floyd Rose is dreadful.

@OfficialArchie Well of course, but Floyd Rose doesn't fit in here.
snakeweirdo 11 months ago
@snakeweirdo Yes I know. This is blues, not heavy metal.

@OfficialArchie Unfortuntely floyd roses just arent strat. different vibe entirely.

He use Kloppmann PU!
Hi Guys, please up the video "Beauty"!!!!!!!!!!
gracegreatness 3 years ago
actually he uses a kloppmann in the mid position. The 2 others are the orig.
rikischy27 2 years ago
Does anyone know what kind of pickups he uses?
BadCompany98 3 years ago
bridge pu - original '61 strat pickup
middle pu - reverse wound '66 strat pu by kloppmann
neck pu - original '61
so basically, almost everything is still original on his strat... look it up on his homepage where he lists his whole gear up...

Thanks a bunch! Too bad I can't afford a real 60's strat... Oh well.
