  • @Hotfries6671 Peace Corps was developed by the U.S.

  • As a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, I want to clarify that you are not required to have a bachelors degree... if you have knowledge, skills or a experience in a certain area, this can take the place of a bachelors degree. But it helps you significantly to have a degree in something that would actually help people in some way to develop their life and skills to improve their community.

  • i want to join

  • what do the peace corps do exactly? They help with war or anything? I am interested. Thank you

  • @sirchristian12 They provide various aid to impoverished nations (often third world countries). It was ratified by JFK when he was in office around the same time he made SEAL units-- kind of a balancing act.

  • I can't wait to join the Peace Corps in a few years. =)

  • does the peace corp do anything?

  • @sarsfieldusmc Yes, they do a lot. Looking from the outside you would not understand, but go ahead and fill out an application and see if you can get in.

  • So you have to have a bachelors degree to join.......or do you just have to be a left wing nut job that rolls down hills?

  • @chutethebull most people have a bachelor's degree. I am not a left winger and I am a Returned PCV and a Returned Peace Corps Response volunteer in Bolivia and El Salvador. PCVs for the most part work hard and play hard. I was not aware that we were required to work constantly. You do not know this but PCVs get vacation time and headquarters is extremely serious about knowing PCVs' whereabouts on a 24 hour basis. If you were to get caught where you werent supposed to be you get sent home.

  • @chutethebull

I'm not sure where you get "left wing" from. You have to have a particular political affiliation to want to try to help people?

    I was unaware.

Oh, and God forbid they have a little fun while they're there.

  • join the peace corps and leave america!your money is worthless, your food and water contains poisen! your leaders red or blue are corrupt.they could help the poor with one budget cut but they dont, america prints fake money backed by no gold ,banks loan you fake money which you pay back with real money.your police and courts are just bulleys, leave so you can realizeamerica is a laughingstock.unplug from the matrix, avoid the fema camps

america is about to be called on its b.s. just pack and go

  • @Hotfries6671 O i love people who have not seen the face of war.

  • i need some advices .i really want to join peace corps but i need to kne whts the good things and the bad things about peace corp please anyone could help me??

  • @marilyn1221 I just started my service in eastern europe. I'm an english teacher in a small village. Peace Corps is a lot of work, its a government agency so there is a lot of paperwork you are responsible for. While its often frustrating and your limits will be tested (i've already had fleas!) , i have loved the experience and the people i've met so far. I hope that helps! Good Luck!

  • @PCmusiclover It is the best thing you will ever do. I also met some really terrific people too! Good luck!

  • @PCmusiclover I will be joining you in Eastern Europe in late May :)

  • Please before you join think of all the people in need here in america. I know the peace corp looks really good on a resume, but so does volunteering here at home. We need young educated people to learn the realities of our ones in need so we can make change for the future. The propaganda makes it very tempting to join. I don't have the brain washing style I just have love in my heart and hope to make a difference here first.

  • thats great but i think we should help everywhere :D helping where you live is great and helping others is great. everyone should help out even a little :DD

  • where is this?

  • this looks beautiful!

  • i want to join the peace core so bad!

but i have to wait another 6 years because i still i have high school and college to finish :(

  • cant you join before college?

  • you can try, but most (90%) peace corps positions require bachelors degrees.

  • @Britty5096 really? a bachelors degree is required to join the peace corps?

  • @Britty5096 that sounds like its hard to get

  • @ydrjtt yes you can.. they take just about anyone. Trust me, if they took my friend.. ANYONE can get in. However if you don't have a degree they send you to less important, less involved projects where you do less of the problem solving yourself and it's more of a guided plan where you implement it and fill out the paper work and act as a monitor, so to speak

  • cant wait to go

  • I hope I join the Peace Corps one day too...

Looks like a lot of fun along with helping people as well.

  • i would love to see their faces when they were one. i want to be in the P.C. but im too young. lucky you.

  • im joining around fall 09

tried a bunch of different stuff out here in the states but none of its me, hoping my experiences in the P.C. will help. Or maybe the P.C. is my calling...

  • It's all fun and games until someone rolls over a cuye.

  • i wanna go :)

  • swaziland

  • ecuador

  • thats just a beautiful life moment

  • i simply is!

i cant wait to join the peace corps!

even though its also very sad to see people who are sick and hungry.. its my life calling!

  • this is how life should be spent, as a kid forever!

    I can't wait too

  • I'd like to know where this is, too, please!

  • where is this?
