Splitting the black hole would have exposed its caramel singularity center. The cosmic censorship hypothesis (Wiki it.) says there can be no naked singularities. They all wear event horizons. The only time there has been one was the Big Bang. That's why that captain lady said what she said.

I think buster machine #3 made a lot more powerful attack then this double kick. Since it wiped out the entire center of the milkyway. Destroying billions of these creatures. And the attack made more sense, using a gigantic black hole as a tactical weapon.

It's ultimately an affirmation that strength of character and dertermination are greater than having a superpower, while also the reconciliation of a deep, but fractured, friendship. The sequence, while being over the top and flashy, is pretty open and optimistic, and the release of the emotional tension is what makes this heartwarming, rather than simply a load of grunting and chest beating.

Anyone who tries to compare the epic awesomeness of Gurren Lagann to that of Nono or Shin Getter or GaoGaiGar or what have you is effectively trying to compare two infinite numbers and decide which one is "more infinite", which is both impossible and retarded. Their iconic scenes all elicit that same feeling of hotblooded giddiness in the viewer, therefore they are all equally awesome for doing so.

The point of doing scenes like this one isn't just to do something really powerful, it's to get a reaction out of the viewers, to make them go FUCK YEAH by whatever means necessary. Whether it's done by crushing the sun with a hammer of light or kicking a black hole so hard that it turns inside out or making two robots the size of universes duke it out, if watching it makes you want to punch the sky then there's no need to compare it to anything else. It's EPIC, enough said.

To be honest diebuster makes just as little sense as TTGL, considering how moons are split apart on a whim and black holes can be broken with a kick.

Both shows are silly, but they know it, and that's the whole charm. Everyone has an eight year old child inside them that wants to see galactic scale robots fighting, and a huge mecha ripping the core from inside a planet.

Just kick logic to the curb.

I know this isn`t the appropriate place to start an argument about the ultimate special move.. however while Goldion Crusher is immensely powerful and my first instict was to shout "HIKARI NI NAARE!"; a more extensive and varied view of Mecha Fandom considers The Discussion Ender to be the Ideon Gun. It is so ridiculously powerful that people do not mention it out of pure disgust rather than awe.

Goldion Crusher is much, much more cool, interesting and fun however; same goes for J Phoenix.

Objection, that whole argument falls under one problem: in essence the Crusher only takes about 10-20 seconds to activate (excluding the Dramatic posing).

The Ideon Gun (and Self Destruct) and basically every major attack (including Shin Getters final attack(s)) really take a LONG time to prepare and for minimal results. Ideon takes what, 30 minutes to get to a high enough Energy, Shin Getter can take 10 minutes. Sorry, but Crusher pre-setup is too quick and powerful.

Problem: Spiral Energy is a cheap knockoff of Getter Rays. G-Stone Energy is so much like Getter Rays that it might as well be Concentrated Getter Rays (RykenInverse made up this theory, I have no arguments about it).

Even presuming they're the same thing, the G-Stone gathers Energy far more efficiently, especially when Guy is Evoluder, which doubles the efficiency as he doesn't need to carry a G-Stone, he is one.
