The point of the video is to show how media projects fear on society. This video was made for a company trying to sell medal detectors. They wanted to show that one person can bring a complete arsenal into a school undetected. 90% of the people that saw this video bought into the crap that was shown. The other 10% are the people that read between the lines.

Exactly. This video was horribly exaggerated and is a shamless marketing ploy aimed towards schools. I can honestly say that conflicts in my school could've been stopped with teacher intervention beforehand (when I asked them for help), but I was denied any assistance. The media is honestly to blame for most of the country's fear. I watch the news and see how they report on shootings/homicides/drug activity in downtown Baltimore, it scares the hell out of me, I'm afraid to go to one of my favorite places without being strapped (no, I don't own a gun), and when I'm there it's just reels of news footage playing in my head. Perhaps if the media didn't flock like vultures to a crime scene we would be less paranoid and hopefully less willing to take up arms.

I live in the UK (where there is gun control) and we have much lower rates of gun (and knife) crime than in America. If there's a shooting in the UK it makes national news. There are countries in Europe with gun control which have even lower rates of gun crime then the UK. I'm not suggesting that gun control is the only factor in our lower rates (Social equality, of lack thereof, also plays a huge part) but it does prove Alertenstein's main argument: More guns lead to more shooting.
