Love this song and that is how hot it is going to be here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Thursday July 21, 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, I love this song and the beautiful summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fond memories of DEC 1966 on KRLA 1110 AM Los Angeles . You won't hear this one any typical Golden Oldies formats created by any MF-ing LOWLIVES who call themselves "Radio Format Consultants" !!!
This definetly a Top 10 song of the year (1966)!!!! It probably would of been #1 for at least 3 wks back when. It's one of those songs that would hit #1, them make way for the Elusive Butterfly by Bob Lind & the after one week on top the Elusive Butterfly would drop to #2 and make way for a rebound hit...yes 98.6 would again be #1, this time for 2 weeks & then would drop one notch at a time until it's out of my top 10.. A Groovy Kind of Love by The Mindbenders would be tops 4 1966!!(sorry)
im 11 and i heard this on the radio with my gramma and she kept telling me how she would allways listen to this son gwith her mom win they hung up the clothes out on the line! lol shes old!!!! just kidding i luv her
first made the top 40 first week of '67. I was an eight year old kid and thought this song was really cool . . . I still do. Gotta love the well-thought out arrangement. Nice , nice pop, and . . .a great video!
I enjoy the slide show just about as much as the song itself. Keep it posted and thanks for sharing. Seasons Greetings to you all from Vancouver Canada, where it was a another green one yesterday.
What a classic, and to think back..this hit definetly didn't get the recognition it deserved. Nothing wrong with the lyrics(positive and straight forward). It's also got a great uptempled beat and the harmonizing in the background makes this #1 in my books, more now than back when. Here in vancouver canada I believe it made it inside the top 10 of the week?...as for the year end charts it should of been top 10! It's unique in that it's based on body temperature(love it)!. Thanks for sharing.
I first heard this song when it came out early in 1967 - back in the days when I had "spring and summer running through me" all the time. I recall seeing Keith sing this on Dick Clark's American Band Stand. He sort of looked like Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones and Keith Relf of the Yardbirds.
I heard this song when I was about to get on the cargo plane for my deployment to Viet Nam.
The memory hasn't spoiled the song for me though, I still like it. The best song while in Viet Nam was "We Got To Get Out Of This Place" by the Animals.
One word. (EXCELLENT) Riicky!

The song's never failed to make me smile. Neither does this video - great work!
Those hearts that keep popping up - that was a happening like the cows here in Chicago, am I right? What city was that in?

This song is indispensable for them who wish to try to get a feel for what the 60s were like.
Vietnam and Watergate finally put the kibosh on the Generation of Love.
...But it's not too late...
Peace and Love. Kindness. Goodness. The Brotherhood of Man.
It was groovy, man!

Wht is 98.6 about? A radio station?
bnegs521 3 years ago
things are back to normal in a relationship, after it caught a metaphorical cold. 98.6 refers to a healthy temperature. gottit?

Well stated! The newer versions of this song carry the word (Degrees)to avoid the apparent confusion.
