All religions are human made--some religions are just more loving, peaceful, inclusive, egalitarian, and truthful than others--that is why I like what I see about Unitarian Universalism--it is a religion of peaceful, loving, truthful, open, friendly, and egalitarian people. There is no message of hate for anyone from Universal Unitarians. There is only a message of love and acceptance from Universal Unitarians. That is my GOD--Love and Nature!
@jmgibbs53 I hope TraceyB777 takes on board what you and jmgibbs53 are saying because his worldview cultivates religious discrimination and elitism which are not only contrary to the teachings of Christ but turn many away from Christianity in disgust.
@jmgibbs53 Mahatma Gandhi, a Hindu, admired Jesus and often quoted from the Sermon on the Mount. The missionary E. Stanley Jones once met with Gandhi and asked him, “Mr. Gandhi, though you quote the words of Christ often, why is that you appear to so adamantly reject becoming his follower?” Gandhi replied, “Oh, I don’t reject your Christ. I love your Christ. It’s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ.” He was once refused entrance into a white Church because he was Indian
@brianhyde63 I am against racism or any type of discrimination among humans. I love all people equally as humans--we are all humans with the same ancient biological and cosmological origins.
@brianhyde63 The only differences among humans are cultural--this is an artificial difference it is not from Nature. Religions are cultural/artificial contrivances that some humans created in the past for controlling humans and their actions--religions and governments are basically the same thing--a means to organize and control humans.
GOD loves everyone equally--GOD is Nature--the only disparity between love for people is caused by people--those who feel superior to others make up beliefs to put others down and express their hatred of others through their made up beliefs.
Atheist. Humanist. Buddhist. Taoist. Naturalist. Spiritual humanist. Explorer of liberal Christianity. Spiritually person. Deeply agnostic. (What a list!)
A one person in a comment below said, this is organized religion. In other words, it's clear that UU has made a choice between Christ and the church. That is, they've thrown out the baby to bathe in the bathwater.
I grew up in a fundamental Baptist church. Why is that when I visited a Unitarian church, on two occasions, I get the same empty shallow feeling that organized religion brings? Oh, I can answer that question for myself...because UU is organized religion! There are actually many similarities that one can draw from the structure from a UU service compared to an evangelical denomination! Baptist, Catholic, UU, all are very bourgeoisie concepts!
Love never fails. God will never fail. If He truly loves people, He wouldn't torture them for all of eternity. Love & eternal torment cannot go together. God is just, yes, but He is not cruel.
1 Tim 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
1 John 2:2- He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
Great commercial. The only community missing is Existentialism. With Nietzsche and Kierkegaard I would join. Religion defined, “a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects”. Believing and practicing the idea that everyone has the right to find personal meaning meets the above criteria. Therefore, Unitarian Universalism can be considered a religion and have the right to church.
They did not tell the truth, though. They are not on different paths. They are actually on the same path. It is called the broad way.
Mat 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
They are all humanists. They put man at the center of their faith, not God.
Everyone Unitarian is different... and many do put God at the center of their faith. And I believe that straight narrow way is the way within each heart and is not encapsulated within any one "particular" religion.
@arepasheat The true God explained in the Bible is not different for everyone. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So to think each person can shape God into their personal mold is wrong! God will not change for mankind. Mankind must change to fit the mold God has set. Your idea of the narrow way, is too broad. If everyone has their own way, they cannot be all on the narrow way that God has set. God will not accept people as they are, He expects change. Follow Jesus, and stop sinning
What I mean is that I believe that God can be connected with and worshipped within Every heart. Yes, I believe it's the same universal God however I don't believe you're going to hell because you don't go to a Christain church and I don't believe you're going to Heaven just because you do. There are a lot of really low minded people within ALL religions and outside of all religions. Crappy people and good loving spiritual people exist from all walks of life and all traditions.
@arepasheat John 14:6 Jesus is the only way. All other ways lead to false gods. The idea of worshiping God any way you want is against God's word. Stop fooling yourself. Jesus is the only way. That means all Buddhist's, Muslim's, Hindu's, Wiccan's, and Universalist's are going to Hell, unless they repent. I know I have just said that billions of people are going to Hell, if they don't repent, but the road to destruction is broad. Matthew 7:13-14. Stop believing the lies of Satan. Repent!
I have a personal connection to God and feel that messages can be delivered to me through my own connection with the world of spirit and in dreams and visions. I ask that God teach me this way as I don't trust in something that was interpreted by so many other humans. I read all religious texts, however my true connection comes from God rather than a book or the word of men who claim to speak God's words. I prefer to hear Gods words myself... like prophets across all cultures.
@arepasheat Since you don't have God's word as a standard, then all you are left with is your own imagination. I ask you which is more reliable? A collection of 66 books which have existed unchanged for thousands of years, or your own subjective imagination?
How do you know that it is God? I don't doubt you are in connection with some spirit. How can you prove it is the Holy Spirit? You have abandoned your only method of testing. There is only 1 Holy Spirit, there are many evil spirits.
The collection of books you're referring to as the Bible were also written down by human beings and human prophets who heard the word of God OR their own imagination and transcribed it down as the word of God. Because some of these words very well may have been true, and others not, I choose to trust my own direct linkage and invite in only the truth and shield myself from manipulative energies that don't speak the truth. This is what many prophets did as well...
@arepasheat They did not write according to their own imagination. God wrote through them. Everything in the Bible is true. You have no way to validate truth, using your approach. Since, you have no objective standard by which to judge.
The truth is you don't care about actual truth. You only care about what makes you feel good. If it makes you feel good, then you call it truth. The truth is that Satan will make you feel good with lies. Often times the truth hurts, and goes against you.
@arepasheat Also, by only seeking things that make you feel good you don't ever achieve what God actually wants you to do. You cannot do what is right in God's eyes, by only seeking to please yourself. You only achieve what seems right in your own eyes. This totally ignores what God actually wants. You are not God. So your method is clearly false. I seek what God wants me to do. I can know what God wants me to do, by obeying God's word. That is the unchanging 66 books of the Bible. Repent!
I know that what one may believe to be/feel good does not necessarily reflect what is actually healthy and true.I also think that if you truly connect your heart to your experience, you may question all together what you feel to be "good" and realize the codependent relationship you have with your habits.I also believe that if God is all knowing, he knows all of our experiences through us and has no boundaries in terms of what can be done/experienced. In this sense God is within us.
@arepasheat How can you know that? Since you have rejected the Bible as a valid source of information about God, how can you know anything about God? I know that God is all knowing because I can see it in God's word, in which I do trust. Since you have no such standard you can look to, outside yourself, you cannot prove to me that your statement is true. Am I just supposed to take your word on it? Who are you, that the whole world should have to check with you to learn about God? You are blind.
Am I more blind than the prophets in the bible that transcribed these words? Are you more blind? In what way were they different from you and I?And who translated all of these words into different languages? Many many many many many different humans as well. I'm not rejecting the Bible. I take the same view as you. One should not place blind trust in any information that a human being claims to have received from God I'm skeptical of messages/dreams etc of my own but also others.
@arepasheat Translation does not require divine intervention. It just requires adequate scholarship. As long as you completely understand the languages involved, you can translate. So, your appeal to translations is weak. Translation can be trusted. Otherwise how could a Japanese speaking man communicate with an English speaking man? We still have the transcripts the Bible was translated from. Verify it yourself it you doubt it, just don't dismiss it in your ignorance. Do you sin?
@TracyB777 Yes, I've sinned. What about my appeal that the information is being received from God by human beings? How is that different from an individual now? Has God stopped talking to people through visions and dreams? As for translations, there's definitely the possibility of differences in the translation meanings especially with such ancient texts. Also, forgeries. "the bible is true because it says in the bible it is true." Every religion says that as well.
@arepasheat The question was "Do you sin?" Do you still sin? Also, the Bible is finished. We cannot claim to be able to write Holy Scripture under divine inspiration. Revelation was the last book. There is a warning in Rev 22:18-19. To say you can add to the Bible brings judgment upon your own head. Repent!
If you really doubt the translation quality, don't be lazy about it. Learn Hebrew, and Greek. Don't continue in your blind conjecture. You assume fault without proof. Prove it.
Well I'd definitely be interested in learning more. Being a Unitarian, we were required to go to a number of Churches, but never felt able to learn anything while attending. It was vague and I didn't feel it helped me understand reality and purpose in life. As for sinning, I believe as a human that we are all here to work on ourselves and that it's a life process. I have grown a lot from when I was younger and I base my decisions on how they affect my own heart and others.
@arepasheat I'm not a humanist. I'm a Christian. Follow Jesus, and stop sinning. As long as you continue in your sin, you're an enemy of God. God will cast all His enemies into the Lake of Fire on Judgment Day. It's appointed once for a man to die, and after that the judgment. Thinking you can find your own way to God, comes from your pride. You are unwilling to accept God's way, and think God will accept your way. He will not. You must be Born Again to enter, or see the Kingdom of God. Repent!
Blessings to you. I will now move on to add light and spirit to the world where it's most needed. Spending time making the Earth a better place and bringing joy and love into other's hearts. That's my purpose here. Since a young child I've communicated with God. When you're in union with God you receive messages and synchronisities that let you know you are on teh right path. When you aren't on the right path you don't receive this guidance as I've experienced both. bless-
@arepasheat The one you listen to says you're on the right path, because it is the wide way. The one you serve is the Devil. With sin still in your life, you're not on the narrow path.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
@arepasheat I like your thoughts about shedding love everywhere and making earth a better place. Is that based on divine principles or humanistic principles? And how do you know the god you serve is the only true God of the universe? What sets your faith apart from humanism?
@TracyB777 Are you the fire and brimstone type? That's how you come across to me. Your words are cutting, cruel. Did you know that even if you quote scripture if you don't speak it with love you misrepresent God?
@brianhyde63 Jesus is the fire and brimstone type. "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Mark 9:43-44
God's word is a sword it is supposed to cut. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" Eph 6:17
@brianhyde63 The problem is that Universalists are seeking to misrepresent God, That is why you don't obey God's word. You don't like the God revealed in Scripture, so you create another god of your own imagination. Your god accepts all sin like a sewer, and has no standard at all. You call that love. The true God revealed in Scripture will only accept holiness. God is completely intolerant of sin. God will cast all sinners into Hell, on judgment day. He gave us a way to stop sinning. Repent!
@TracyB777 I know the spirit behind you.I meet people like you all the time on YouTube. Full of fanatical hatred. The difference I suggest between you and Christ is that He was qualified by the Spirit to rebuke punblicly and even then He did it with love.Tell me, when your children disobey do you burn them to death? Or do you torture them everyday with a red hot poker? If not why not? Because that's exactly what you are teaching God does to His children.
@brianhyde63 I was a sinner. Now I have victory over sin, in Christ Jesus! Whoever Jesus sets free, is free indeed. Jesus set me free. I have stopped sinning. Why haven't you?
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
1John 2:3-4 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
@TracyB777 Well only God knows whether I am sinning or not, not you. i still get the impression that you are full of self-righteousness. While it is true that a sincere believer will not sin deliberately everything he does is still corrupted by a sinful nature. So are you saying you are not sinning deliberately or you are not sinning at all.
@brianhyde63 I can judge you by your fruit. You are against the idea that we can stop sinning. This tells me that you believe everyone sins all the time. Your actions have consequences. I can connect the dots.
Also, if you really worship at an Universalist church, that would also show you as a sinner. The Bible says the light has NO FELLOWSHIP WITH DARKNESS. (Ephesians 5:11)
@TracyB777 For the record I am not a universalist. I am a Christian saved by grace of God. I know I am a sinner and always in need of grace. I love the Lord and His law is my constant delight. But I hate those who claim to be Christian but are of the synagogue of Satan and sit in self-righteous judgment of others and their beliefs. I think you need to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn humility and love.
@brianhyde63 I didn't know if you were an Universalist, or not. That's why I said "IF" You seem to be judging me by your own personal opinion, as a standard. That by definition would make you SELF righteous. I only judge by God's word, which is of HIS righteousness; not of my own. The Bible says you are a liar
1John 2:3-4 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him
@TracyB777 .... If it is the latter I will draw your attention to the following: "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. ... If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8
@brianhyde63 It's saying the same as verse 10. About PAST sins. I have sinned in the past, yes. Yet, it doesn't mean I have to keep sinning. If you think this one verse is teaching you can keep sinning, and not go to Hell, then you don't know anything about the book of 1John. The purpose of the book of 1John is found in this verse.
1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye SIN NOT. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
@TracyB777 You can quote scripture all you like but it will not redeem you in the slightest. You clearly enjoy denigrading others you dont even know, presumably to make yourself feel better -- what is called the "holier than thou" attitudee.
@brianhyde63 The problem is that you despise what the Bible says. That's why you don't like me to quote from the Bible. My righteousness is in Jesus Christ, which is why I quote from His word. You are self righteous, that's why you keep quoting from your own opinion. I really don't care about your opinion. I do care about what God thinks. I can know that, by knowing His word. Stop fighting against God. Falling for the enemy will not redeem you, it condemns you.
@Tr God does punish sin it's true but not the way u advocate. Eternal torment is a doctrine of devils.Did u know that the 1st 500 yrs of church history there was no such teaching?.It was introduced into the church by Agustine from heathenism which used it as a means of controlling the lawless masses.Your type of religion brings a stain upon Christianity because as the tone of your words betray u r full of hatred. Btw I am not a universalist, so get your facts right first b4 you judge others.
@arepasheat I don't take counsel from sinners. Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
The Bible has not changed. The best he can do, is the same as you. Blind conjecture. We still have the transcripts the Bible was translated from. Any argument against that is based in ignorance.
@arepasheat You speak of inner light. The scripture says,"There is a way that seems right to a man--women included :) --but in the end it leads to death" Proverbs 16:25. I have asked myself, why? Because what we think is right is often so unreliable. If the Bible is right and I beleive it is, man is a fallen sinful being and it is dangerous for him to depend on his own heart or impressions or "inner light" etc unless it is informed by God's word or Spirit. Peace be with you. . .
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12) "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6,ESV) Come to Jesus
God is the Savior of all men, especially those who believe- Paul in 1 Timothy 4:10... That's like saying track is for everyone, especially for those who like to run. Jesus is the Savior of all, especially for those who trust in Him. God's grace & mercy will win out over everything else in the end, after His judgment. Those who reject God will face Him on judgment day but God will not write them off forever.
So you're either hypocrites or so self-absorbed that your religions and beliefs and politics are self-evidently nonsense. Why should anyone have anything to do with these irrelevant groups-except for the fact that you're over-represented in higher education and wealthier communities and are unavoidable for people who don't want to live with the poor and disfunctional? How about locking you in a room with the fundies and let you argue it out? Leave the rest of us alone?
I'm a recovering baptist thinking of visiting a UU church near me. Was driven away years ago by all the ridiculousness... but these guys seem to have a better philosophy.
Why does a group that claim to "Celebrate Diversity" have a membeship over 95% White, middle/upper middle class and over 90% belonging to one side of the political spectrum? And if you're so welcoming, why are you still as small as you were 50 years ago?
@NixonisLord: I've had this question for two decades of MOST liberal "institutions", having established liberals within my family, & having grown up with preachy siblings who became hard core libs. I wound up marrying a "person of color" & having bi-racial kids with my "brown" (and republican) wife (I'm libertarian); yet all the "supa-liberals" I know are almost ALWAYS exclusively engaged in liberal entities that are white, upper middle class to rich, highly educated. My siblings no exception.
@ScottMacFie that is because white people are usually more liberal as they have the money to travel the world, gain new experiences, have time to read books, are more educated, etc. than people of color. This leads to more liberal thinking. A lot of libertarians are 'liberal' in the moral sense just not in the economic sense.
@TickleMehNancy : I'm a libertarian myself actually (and have been for 20 years, before it was "trendy"). The Tea Party was arguably started by libertarians (then hijacked).
@ScottMacFie I think it's because, generally speaking, whites are more educated than minorities. Smarter, better educated people tend to be more liberal as they are exposed to more worldviews. This is why the less educated in our society, the conservatives, the tea party, label liberals as "elitist". I imagine this church remains small because it services this smaller niche of our society.
@robertl30 : There are many problems with your theory, all of which cannot be responded to here, except to say, if 92 to 98 percent of blacks vote democrat (and for liberals) in elections, why are their not more in the UU movement? Or are more pro-gay? Also, a VERY HIGH percentage of Muslims that live in the Western world are ultra-conservative. Also, for 40 years, libs named anyone who was conservative "elitists", the old George Herbert Walker Prescot Jebediah Episcopal Bush stereotype.
@riethc : More like, "I'm a liberal. I surround myself with liberals. I'm a free-thinker who objects to any objections you might have to my viewpoints. I "celebrate diversity", and women's rights. Privately, I don't care how many baby girls are murdered in the womb in China or at Smith College. I love black people, but I send my kids to private school or move to a "better area" because, ya know, "the schools are just better" (code word for: no blacks).
@riethc: "I'm an atheist, who blames Christianity and "religion" (except Islam) for all the wars, death & destruction in history--atheists Stalin, and Chairman Mao are exempt from my judgement however. I refer to Timothy McVeigh as one of those "Christian Fundamentalists", although he was a card-carrying Atheist Libertarian to his last breath. I hate Mitt Romney, and his sense of white guy entitlement. But I love Barry Sotero who was raised by a Bank Vice President (grandma)"
@chic4o1 I know right. It makes me feel uncomfortable when they call it that...since it's such a liberal religion...maybe it should be called a community, or unitarian universalist temple!
Just as I figured, most of the comments are from people who don't comprehend the simple fact that people with different beliefs can share the same values. I don't believes there are supernatural entities, so I guess that makes me an atheist. But, when I explored atheist and humanist groups, I discovered that I did not share the same values as many...possibly even most of the non-believers....and that's why I am a Unitarian Universalist.
@rusty57 "How can two walk together, except they be agreed?" The Bible asks. First of all, if we truly have DIFFERENT BELIEFS then truly we do not share "the same values." The fact is folks in the UU all can "agree" because they really do NOT have "different beliefs." That is how you guys can "walk together." You guys have "different titles" "varying labels" but really you guys have the SAME BELIEF that "unity of mankind" supercedes or is sovereign over any individual "idea" or "ideology."
@rusty57 Now, tell me I am lying. You can't because you know that I am not. I speak TRUTH. Members of the UU -- You guys believe "unity" is sovereign over any "one belief" or "philosophy" so that is why a so-called "Christian" "Buddihst" "Atheist" "Hindi" "Baha'i" "Agnostic" "Wiccan" "Muslim" "Jew" can ALL break bread under the same fellowship as a so-called "church" setting. But, the REALITY is to UU such "varying beliefs" are merely considered "titles" and "philosophies" NOT TRUE FAITH/LIFE
@LPATWILLFILM "Members of the UU -- You guys believe "unity" is sovereign over any "one belief" or "philosophy"
Exactly! That's the whole point in a nutshell. In a modern secular society, you have to work, go to school and live in the same neighbourhoods with people of all different cultures and religions. The universal approach....which has fundamentalists all bent out of shape, is just the natural inclination to respect others who are different that we meet every day.
@rusty57 Exactly. So, what I said was TRUTH. You all have the same belief. And, none of you are really "atheist" "christian" "buddhist" "muslim" "jew" "wiccan" "hindi" or "whatever." That is exactly my point. So, UU should stop being disingenous to say that "all such" are a part of it, when really that is not true. All you guys truly have the SAME BELIEF & SAME FAITH. That is why I purely quoted THE BIBLE: "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" So, UU is really its OWN "faith."
We have the same beliefs about what is really important to make the world a better place. The fact that most of your fundamentalist Christian brethren are denying the reality of climate change and other threats for future generations informs me that fundamentalists share beliefs that are either harmful or unhelpful.
@rusty57 Climate change means nothing when GOD IS GOING TO CREATE A NEW HEAVEN and NEW EARTH anyone. So, you are fighting for that which is temporal and must pass away anyhow. Fight for souls. Fight for the deliverance of Jesus Christ to break the curses, sadness, infirmities, pain, bondage off of folks minds and shatter deception in their hearts and remove the scales from their eyes that they MAY SEE and KNOW HIM. That is what's important. This world is going to pass away.
@rusty57 That is why a TRUE BELIEVER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST would never and could never be a UU! Because to us Jesus Christ is not a "title" but He is our HOPE. He is not a "philosophy" but He is LORD. He is not a "belief" He is LIFE. He is not a "thought" or a "teaching" He is KING. He is not a "religion" He is RELATIONSHIP. His Word is not a "book" but it is TRUTH. So, what so-called "Christians" you have attending UU, trust they are NOT CHRISTIANS -- they are what they are -- UU.
@LPATWILLFILM :"That is why a TRUE BELIEVER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST would never and could never be a UU!"
Why do you assume that everyone should share the same metaphysical beliefs? I grew up in the kind of stifling religious zealotry that you promote....and that's how I ended up as an atheist in the first place!
If everyone is supposed to believe the same God, why are there so many different religions today? The "one true" path is the first step towards religious war and tyranny.
@rusty57 No, you ended up an ATHEIST because you NEVER BELIEVED IN JESUS CHRIST. You never KNEW HIM. You were too busy thinking about junk like "metaphysical beliefs" and "stifling religious zealotry" instead of just FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM. Just getting to KNOW HIM. Just getting to be WITH HIM. There are different beliefs because of folks like you. The read something in THE BIBLE "disagree" and start their own stuff or fall away. I invite you to forget that junk and JUST KNOW HIM.
Zealous fundamentalists cannot deal with those of us who left their churches, never to return. So the only way to rationalize the problem that some lose faith is to claim that we never had faith, or we didn't get the right brand of faith. It is a fundamental disrespect for the way others think.
It is staying in fundamentalist churches that is the challenge. That's why Christian book stores are full of books about rebuilding or returning to faith.
@rusty57 But, see the PROOF is in the pudding... If you really KNEW JESUS CHRIST... I am not saying it is impossible to "fall away" because at all times God gives us freewill and freedom to choose "whom we will serve." But, what I am saying is this... If YOU KNEW HIM, like I KNEW HIM and truly tasted and seen HOW GOOD HE IS... Dude, you would rather die than to leave HIS LOVE. Man, I LOVE JESUS CHRIST -- He is all and truly all I know what He's done in my life and WHO HE IS so that's how I know
@rusty57 Everything you are talking about is political "fundamentalist" and social. THAT JUNK don't mean nothing to GOD! Seriously. And, it means nothing to me. It is "intellectuals" like you whom classify and quantify and "compartmentalize" those things you cannot accept and understand. I am not a fundamentalist, conservative, none of that B.S. POLITICAL CRAP! That's of MAN. I am a SERVANT a FOLLOWER a SOLDIER of the GLORIOUS RISEN SAVIOR & LORD JESUS CHRIST!
If I am an intellectual, I am a self-made intellectual. I only had a high school education plus a love of science and philosophy....both subjects that fundamentalist church leaders tell their people to avoid.
@rusty57 You are CONCERNED with this WORLD and "worldly." You are thinking about LIVING FOR TODAY. I am thinking about LIVING FOR ETERNITY. I am CONCERNED for the WORLD. You are thinking about "policies" "laws" and "human rights" and I am thinking about SOULS and SALVATION. I don't even attend "church building" regularly -- I GATHER WITH THE CHURCH -- Fellow Saints. We are THE CHURCH. Our HOPE is in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and HIM ALONE not some politician or preacher. But, in HIM.
The difference between this world and the one you are hoping to live in is that there is no evidence to support a next world, so we should be concerned with this one; and try to stop wars, population growth, environmental degradation, and other things that threaten the long term survival of the next generations.
@rusty57 See, that is where YOU ARE WRONG. I KNOW HIM. I HAVE SEEN HIM. I WALK IN HIS POWER. I HAVE BEEN HEALED BY HIS POWER. HE HAS HEALED OTHERS THROUGH ME BY HIS POWER. I HAVE SEEN THE DEAD ARISE. I HAVE SEEN HIM MAKE A WAY OUT OF NO WAY. I HAVE FELT HIS MERCY AND GRACE LIFT ME. I HAVE SEEN HIS HAND PERFORM MIRACLES THAT EVEN THE MOST STARK UNBELIEVER HAD TO SAY: "Unbelieveble -- you must be a good person." Even they could NOT DENY THE MIRACLE OF THE LORD. See you have NO PROOF.
@rusty57 But, the thing is, I am not "good" -- HE IS GOOD. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS GOOD! :) He is just waiting on a people to stop trying to "out think Him." Stop trying to "have all the answers" and Stop trying "to save themselves." He is searching for a people to just say "Yes, Lord." To just, BELIEVE. It is He that will lead us, feed us, keep us, teach us. But, how many folks are trying to FIGURE IT ALL OUT and so when they can't they just say "Oh it isn't real." That is why...
@rusty57 That is why a mind of flesh can NEVER receive GOD. They can only receive more of the same -- "flesh." That is why Science and the NONSENSE of the World can speak to them. Because they do NOT have The Spirit of The Lord Jesus Christ ( The Holy Ghost) present and operating nor indwelling them. That is why they have NO POWER other than the "power of numbers" that is why THE WORLD feels it needs to "unify." But, all it needs it just to TRUST THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE IS POWER!
@rusty57 That is why a righteous man or a righteous woman can STAND ALONE, for even as Jesus Christ said Himself, "Though, I be alone, yet, I am NOT alone, For The Father -- He is always with Me." You guys NEED NUMBERS. You NEED everybody to accept and tolerate and hold hands and go along and get along. That is because you fear to be ALONE. Because that is where you really abide -- alone. Deep down you guys are scared because you feel "alone" and "helpless" and "powerless." So, you feel...
@rusty57 So you feel you must "save yourselves" "save your fellowman" "save the earth (environment)" instead of just letting THE LORD JESUS CHRIST SAVE YOU -- SAVE YOUR HEARTS. SAVE YOUR MINDS. SAVE YOUR SOULS. It is HE that "saves." Not us. And, as a servant of His my job is to simply LIFT HIM UP and PLANT THE SEED -- It is He that does the "drawing." It is He that gives the "increase." I can honestly tell you straight up from MY LIFE -- He will never leave you alone, helpless, powerless
@rusty57 And, that is what truly separates the TRUE BELIEVER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST from any other individual (including some "fellow believers"). A True Believer -- simply Believes. It is not attached to anything political or social. It is simply attached to HIM. A True Believer -- does not fear the things the World fears. Over population? Huh? Why? If you have 15 kids, is God whom feeds the sparrow NOT great enough to feed your kids? See, Man is AFRAID to suffer "lack" and "loss."
@rusty57 So, that is why Man feels he has to trust "himself" that which he can only touch and "see." But, even though we "touch" and "see" each other everyday, yet we still have no real HOPE in one another. Why? Because we are afraid to admit we are NOT IN CONTROL. We can have the best intention to do and yet, LIFE and CIRCUMSTANCE can stop that very action. It takes humility to embrace that we are NOT IN CONTROL. But, here is the PEACE OF GOD -- HE IS! :) So, let go. Dive in. Fall Deep.
@rusty57 I promise you, The Lord Jesus Christ will NOT let you drown! :) Even if you should sink... His Hand will lift you up. This is the TRUTH. I speak from the pages of my own life. When I thought at times I had no hope, no power, no way out, no means, no friend, no love, no chance --- Each and every time (faithfully) as the old song goes: HIS LOVE LIFTED ME. I could go on and on. But, I can't. My prayer be with you that you just SEEK HIM forget this junk around you - He will SHOW YOU.
Talk about THE CHURCH OF THE POISON MIND... UU is it! Open your eyes people. Come to The Lord Jesus Christ while you yet have time. He loves. He died for you. He LIVES for you. Don't let Satan continue to deceive you with the NEW AGE lies and deception of "unity." In the World we shall have tribulation, but ONLY in The Lord Christ Jesus shall we have find TRUE PEACE and UNITY -- But, it is only IN HIM. Not in US. Not in THE WORLD. IN HIM. IN HIM ALONE. Open your eyes. Please.
WHAT KIND OF B.S. IS THIS!!!!!!!?!?!????!?!?!?!?!?!???? Oh man... These are truly the LAST DAYS and END TIMES. Satan and his demons have got people so screwed up and stone-cold insane! But, the ONE RELIGION, ONE CHURCH, ONE GOVERNMENT, ONE CURRENCY, ONE ORDER -- THESE ARE ALL THE SYSTEM OF THE BEAST -- 666! Please people turn your hearts to THE LORD JESUS CHRIST -- ONLY HE LOVES YOU. ONLY HE DIED FOR YOU. ONLY HE WAS RAISED AGAIN TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. ONLY HE SAVES YOU. RESIST SATAN.
I love the respect Unitarian Universalism has for all people and for their beliefs. Jesus's second commandment: to love your neighbor as yourself. There are no greater commandments than to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love your neighbor. If you must agree with another to love him or her, you are not following that commandment. UU is the first church I've joined that most truly follows this commandment.
@libbyandtai Yes, you're entitled to your beliefs. I'm not quite sure what you're saying. You don't need to agree with someone to love them. That's kind of the point with UU. We don't agree with everyone's point of view, but we respect them and we treat one another with love and respect.
Uhm guys, I think the point of this church is to celebrate, explore different ways of thinking and different views of spirituality. Also to gain insight and tolerance. What's so bad about that?
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Absolutely nothing, I really don't understand how you can disagree with something that's open to consideration for just about everything...
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf OK. You will see HOW BAD when THE BEAST begins to force your allegiance. Then you will know the true insidious and deceptive con job being done under the "guise" of "insight" and "tolerance." Tolerance and Acceptance are KEY WORDS for the New Age Movement. Wake up. Turn your heart to The Lord Jesus Christ. Read THE HOLY BIBLE. Read REVELATION. JESUS CHRIST IS LOVE. But, He is also TRUTH. And, there IS a such thing as "right" and "wrong" "truth" and "lies." KNOW TRUTH.
@LPATWILLFILM So in other words, you're a bigot. I doubt you will be able to grasp the full meaning of these words under the shroud of your various delusions, but you really need to realize that there will always be other perspectives held by good people. It's people like you who make the world a bitter place. Plus, I don't think that Jesus loves anyone if he's just going to let innocent people fall into eternal torture after they die, just because they don't believe the right thing. It's petty.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Yep! I am a BIGOT 2 U! That is the NEW AGE DOCTRINAL "label" for anyone who truly stands committed to The Lord Jesus Christ. Yep, anyone you NEW AGE folks cannot control and cannot make them "bow down" to your evil, repulsive, godless "god" of ONE WORLD, NEW AGEISM we are castigated, persecuted and "labeled" as bigots and haters. But, that is exactly the practice HITLER did tot he poor Jews. He knew that he had to LABEL them first before he could kill them second.
@LPATWILLFILM Maybe we call you bigots because your christian views are bigoted. There are so many Christian ideas that are totally unethical Like, how can you justify eternal hell? And if God is all knowing, all powerful, and all loving god would help all the starving children in africa? But he doesn't.There for he is unable, unknowing, doesn't care, or doesn't exist. And can you show me proof of this God?If you had proof, you could show the world, and we wouldn't call you delusional bigots.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Your SINS are just due punishment for Hell. But, that is why THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST is so amazing! Because He took our punishment upon Himself on The Cross and shed His Blood and became the PERFECT sacrifice and broke the power of SIN, DEATH and HELL you don't have to go there unless you are intent on serving your SINS. As far as hungry kids in Africa, let's also include hungry kids in the U.S. everywhere -- That is why GOD PUT US HERE! What are you doing to ease it????
@LPATWILLFILM Yes. There are many hungry people here too. My area is suffering from But God does nothing. That's my point. He can do anything, but he doesn't. As for hell, that idea is not ethical, at all. I wish you could see that. I don't want to worship a God who will send people to be tortured eternally just for not believing.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Now, you are going too far! How do you KNOW God does NOTHING when you don't eve seek Him? To "see" what He can do? See, that right there is offensive to me. Because I KNOW GOD IS REAL. I know God provides. I cannot tell you the countless prayers and tears I have lifted up to Him and just as right as rain -- The Lord would send a MIRACLE. How is it that when I was sick and dying my father a MAN OF GOD prayed and INSTANTLY my body was healed 25 years ago! So much more.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf See the problem is... You atheists and agnostics are so "against God" and so against anyone that has a "relationship with The Lord" that you do not even see that you operate out of the most sheer level of prejudice and offensive. Because you guys don't Love The Lord, don't Seek Him and some of you even Hate Him? Why should GOD DO ANYTHING to show you anything about Himself? If He did. When He does. You guys STILL REJECT and look for "human" answers to explain it away.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf And, God loves people that is WHY HE SENT HIS SON to SAVE US from torture. My question is, with that kind of LOVE and MERCY in The Lord Jesus Christ... Why do you guys STILL reject Him? Why do you choose NOT to "believe?" See, there are some whom "struggle to believe" but, they WANT to believe. These are those GOD will always SHOW them HIMSELF. But, then there are those whom simply do NOT want to believe. My question is why? Why would you NOT want HIS LOVE? That's sad!
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf And, I HAVE PROOF AND KNOW GOD IS REAL! It is you that do NOT have PROOF because you resist to get to KNOW HIM. You want HIM to bow down to your ideas, ways and means. Instead of humbling yourself to just to get to KNOW HIM. With all of the PROOF IN THE WORLD that GOD IS REAL folks like you will always REJECT HIM because He is NOT what you WANT nor wish to SEEK nor desire to LOVE. Because you desire your own ways and love yourselves MORE. Huh! Talk about bigot?
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Oh and BTW: Because GOD IS REAL in my life. I really don't give a flying UFO saucer what you or any lost soul really thinks or calls me. I know all of the PRAYERS GOD HAS ANSWERED IN MY LIFE. I KNOW HIS VOICE. I KNOW HIS PRESENCE. I OPERATE IN HIS POWER. I LIVE IN HIS LOVE. So, what you say or what anybody in the "world" says... Is really moot and "mute" because has 0% impact. For fact, it is folks like YOU that I pity because you are so lost and bitter and hurt.
@LPATWILLFILM That's called a delusion. Problem is, this delusion has been the norm for so long that people never see it for what it is. People have encouraged your delusion for your entire life, I'm guessing. That's called group think. It's keeping you from thinking for yourself. And that's sad. Really sad.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf See, and look at the prejudice in your words. You think MY FAITH is built on "what someone told me" Ha! If FAITH was that easy, then you would BELIEVE. :) You guys are the ones whom think you got all the answers and for the answers you don't have you poo-poo it away as being "delusional" OR "arguable." That's pitiful to live a life like that. You never take the time to ask yourself, MAN! WHAT IF GOD REALLY IS REAL? You never THINK that perhaps I LOVE HIM because HE IS!
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf I love the Lord Jesus Christ, because He is REAL. He speaks. He guides. He leads. He answers. He touches. He changes situations. His hand moves. I LOVE THE BIBLE -- IT IS HIS WORD. But, THE BIBLE shows me HIS HEART, HIS THOUGHTS and HIS DESIRES and what HE SEEKS FROM ME. But, THE BIBLE (reading it) is NOT why I believe in The Lord Jesus. If it was that simple to believe based upon reading -- YOU WOULD BE SAVED and the ENTIRE WORLD! Everyone has read it more or less.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf So, if you really think that MY FAITH is based upon "what someone encouraged" then you are the most delusional. For I BELIEVE, because I KNOW. I HAVE SEEN HIM. I HAVE WITNESSED HIS POWER in my OWN LIFE. I read the BIBLE to get to know Him better. Not to "believe." For one must believe in His Heart that God is. You can read all day. You can listen to someone "encourage" all day, and still NOT believe. You are the PRIME EXAMPLE of what I say here is true. But, to KNOW HIM..
@LPATWILLFILM That's not what I said. I'm not going to continue this if you aren't going to read my comments, or address any of my questions. It's useless arguing with you.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf First starts in WANTING TO KNOW HIM. God is a gentleman. He does NOT force His presence upon anyone. You don't want to get to know Him (albeit He so desires that you do), yet, He will allow you your "space." But, He is so good! Because even in our NOT WANTING TO KNOW HIM, He will send His Servants, His laborers, His Children (in the face of rejection and ridicule) to still tell you of HIS LOVE and How much He wants you to KNOW HIM! :) That's the GOD I SERVE. Marvelous!
@LPATWILLFILM I would rather not have a choice and avoid eternal torture. Thank you. It's irresponsible for him to give us that choice without any proof to base that decision on.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Because you do NOT HAVE THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST indwelling NOR abiding in your heart you are bitter and feel you "need numbers" and "support of others" to make you not feel as ALONE and POWERLESS as you really are. But, in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST --- You don't have to be alone, fearful nor powerless. His LOVE is marvelous... Won't you try HIM today? HE IS WAITING FOR YOU! :)
@LPATWILLFILM You haven't addressed any of my questions. I am not bitter nor do I feel alone and powerless. I am rational, and I believe in myself. I don't need a crutch. I can tell you truly have a good heart and good intentions. I respect and admire that. I just don't agree with your method of spreading the word. If you could only see from my point of view, you would see how offensive it is to people of other beliefs.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf But, see you guys don't see how "your way" is "offensive" either. It is like with the Gay Community --- everyone "believes" their way is "right" and because of that they think their "way" is not also offensive. I am offended by UU. Just as much as they are probably offended by Biblical Christians. I am offended by Apostate, Apologetic Christians that are trying to "blend" with this "age." You see, I know I AM OFFENSIVE. Jesus said HIS WORD WOULD OFFEND. But, how many...
@LPATWILLFILM Problem is, you think you have a divine right to be offensive. From our perspective, that is irrational because there is no proof that your offensive nature has any validity. There will always be people with other beliefs. And as long as those beliefs do not harm anyone, they have the right to be free to live them out with out being discriminated against.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf But, how many UU folks such as yourself, or Muslims, or Non-Messianic Jews, or Buddhists, Hindi, Baha'is, Atheists, Agnostics, Homosexuals would consider themselves as "equally offensive" as they consider the BIBLE-BELIEVING CHRISTIAN to be? See, you guys are not able to "see" and "embrace" that your "ideologies" and "pathos" "logos" "ethos" and "egos" "id" "eros" "philosophies" are EQUALLY as offensive to folks like me? Can you even embrace this understanding from MYVIEW?
@LPATWILLFILM Look, I was a devoted Christian for years. I thought I had a strong relationship with Jesus, I studied the bible in depth, I spread the word, I won many debates against Atheists and Agnostics. I know what it's like to be on the other side, with the other perspective. I remember what it felt like when people questioned my beliefs. I felt like I was being attacked, and I felt sorry for that other person too. You need to understand that your belief is not superior to anyone else's.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Then WHY did you LEAVE HIM? How could you leave Him? Devotion means dedication. So, if you were "dedicated" and "devoted" how could you leave Him? Man! I tell you, I love HIM SO MUCH this WORLD is 0% to me! His love and power has been so rich in my life... I can't leave Him. There is a "difference" you know in "spreading the Word" and "Contending for the Faith" and truly HAVING A RELATIONSHIP with Him. I notice you say: "I thought I had a strong relationship" ...
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf That's very troubling statement for reasons of: If you "thought" you had a strong relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ, how is it that you did not "know" you had this relationship? I mean, what was your "relationship" built upon? Winning debates? Witnessing? Spreading The Word? OR Simply walking with Him? Simply talking with Him? Simply getting to KNOW Him? That's the relationship. The stuff you mention is the "work" the "labor." But, we LABOR because we LOVE.
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf I say we LABOR because we LOVE HIM, not the other way around. I am not having this discussion to you to PROVE how "awesome" and "rocking" and Marvelous The Lord Jesus Christ is to you or anybody else -- I KNOW HOW AWESOME, ROCKING, MARVELOUS HE IS! :) I speak to you out of His Love to give you the INVITATION TO KNOW HIM and TO KNOW WHAT I KNOW. But, the choice is always yours. God gives you choice to follow or fall away. But, if you KNEW HIM and LOVE HIM for real...
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf It is so hard to turn from Him! I have had moments of doubt you best believe! I had moments when my FAITH was shattered you best believe! I mean it is a Narrow Walk, a Cross to bear, a Yoke to have and a Burden to haul. But, you know what and HE IS RIGHT... His Yoke really is "easy" and Burden "light" and He makes our "cross" bearable! :) I would NOT trade my life in for anything this world could offer me in place of HIS LOVE, HIS PEACE, HIS POWER, HIS GRACE & HIS JOY! :)
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Now, let me tell you... In my moments of doubt I can tell you every time I had them (not the doubts of whether He is real or not -- The doubts of can I, in my mere mortal flesh endure The Walk and all the things that goes along with "The Walk" -- the Living Sacrifice, the Patience, the Persecution, the Trials, the Testing) HE HAS ALWAYS LIFTED MY HEART FROM SUCH DESPAIR or would send someone, sometimes even a "stranger" to speak HIS MYSTERY to reignite & reinvigorate me! :)
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf So, I get that part. But, that is why I get THE WHOLE STORY... I know He is Real and I Know what He can do -- Because He is and He has and He does IN MY LIFE. Witnessing to others The Love and Salvation of Jesus Christ is FOR THEIR BENEFIT not MINE. If they have "eyes to see" and "ears to hear" and a "heart to receive" blessed are they -- For they shall SEE GOD. But, if they don't and refuse, that's their "rigth" too! But, I would be less than HIS CHILD not to reach out...
@LPATWILLFILM Yes. I agree. You have every right to present the word to the world. That is a beautiful thing. But to strike down something that promotes tolerance? No. Tolerance is a good thing.
@LPATWILLFILM I think the biggest difference is: UU's may find you offensive, but UU's wouldn't try to keep you from worshiping your God, but you would clearly try to stop anyone who doesn't have your beliefs. Could it be you don't really have as strong a belief as you proclaim? I do think you protest and Evangelize too much. I'm completely comfortable in my beliefs, therefore I'm completely comfortable in sharing this planet and learning from anyone, as I prefer growth in spirituality & God
@keverett256 How am I trying to STOP you or anyone who does not share my belief in The Lord Jesus Christ? See you guys THINK that a REAL CHRISTIAN is trying to "stop you" by simply sharing THE GOOD NEWS of SALVATION and HOPE and LOVE of Jesus Christ and by also sharing the WAGES OF SIN. That is for "your benefit" not my benefit. It does NOT benefit me to share that with you. I ALREADY HAVE SALVATION. :) It benefits YOU. And, it is The LOVE of Jesus Christ that commissions me to share it.
@keverett256 See, you guys don't THINK HELL is real. You don't THINK SIN is real. So, that is why when a true servant of The Lord Jesus Christ put before you TRUTH and WARNING out of HIS LOVE. You immediately get "offended" and THINK we are trying to STOP you. But the facts are, I can only share it. I've done my part. The choice is up to you to ACCEPT or REJECT and you're FREE (even by God) to do either/or. But, how unfair would it be that you were NOT "given" a choice to make?
@keverett256 For what you consider "protest" and "evangelizing" is merely (when truly done in Spirit and in Truth) is simply me giving you a CHOICE. You can be "U" you can be "UU" you can be any "U" you want in this world. But, the fact is we are all going to LEAVE THIS WORLD. And, I know beyond shadow of a doubt JESUS CHRIST is The Way, The Truth & The Life -- So, why would I NOT share that with "U" or others to give you guys the "shot" of CHOOSING HIM? Now, if you think my sharing means...
@keverett256 I am trying to "stop" you... Then, I suggest you might want to consider how "completely comfortable" you truly are in your "beliefs." Shucks! Everyone is "protesting" and "evangelizing" you think Jehovah's Witness, Muslims, Krishnas, Buddhists, UUs, Homosexuals, KKK, Media, Hollywood, everyone is "sharing" their "beliefs" and "promoting" and "protesting" to get you to THINK about "their way" but only when a CHRISTIAN does this, then we are "charged" with trying to STOP you? Lol!
Still confused .....

@brianhyde63 I could be termed a Christian Naturalist--I like the naturalistic teachings of Jesus. I see Jesus as a natural human man.

I love all people equally as humans--we are all humans with the same ancient biological and cosmological origins.
jmgibbs53 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 The only differences among humans are cultural--this is an artificial difference it is not from Nature. Religions are cultural/artificial contrivances that some humans created in the past for controlling humans and their actions--religions and governments are basically the same thing--a means to organize and control humans.
jmgibbs53 1 month ago
GOD loves everyone equally--GOD is Nature--the only disparity between love for people is caused by people--those who feel superior to others make up beliefs to put others down and express their hatred of others through their made up beliefs.

Ok I understand everyone except the athiest. Why would an athiest go to any church?
acidstars9 1 month ago
@acidstars9 Maybe because Atheism is a belief system that there is no God. You have to have faith to believe that!

Atheist. Humanist. Buddhist. Taoist.
Why to cling to Christ and throw out church?
michaeldavidgantt 2 months ago
I grew up in a fundamental Baptist church. Why is that when I visited a Unitarian church, on two occasions, I get the same empty shallow feeling that organized religion brings? Oh, I can answer that question for myself...because UU is organized religion! There are actually many similarities that one can draw from the structure from a UU service compared to an evangelical denomination! Baptist, Catholic, UU, all are very bourgeoisie concepts!

Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with her in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?

What a great way to describe and promote Unitarian Universalism. Well done!
OSheaL01970 3 months ago
They did not tell the truth, though. They are not on different paths. They are actually on the same path. It is called the broad way.
Mat 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
They are all humanists. They put man at the center of their faith, not God.
TracyB777 3 months ago
@TracyB777
Everyone Unitarian is different... and many do put God at the center of their faith. And I believe that straight narrow way is the way within each heart and is not encapsulated within any one "particular" religion.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat The true God explained in the Bible is not different for everyone. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So to think each person can shape God into their personal mold is wrong! God will not change for mankind. Mankind must change to fit the mold God has set. Your idea of the narrow way, is too broad. If everyone has their own way, they cannot be all on the narrow way that God has set. God will not accept people as they are, He expects change. Follow Jesus, and stop sinning
TracyB777 2 months ago
@TracyB777
Crappy people and good loving spiritual people exist from all walks of life and all traditions.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat John 14:6 Jesus is the only way. All other ways lead to false gods. The idea of worshiping God any way you want is against God's word. Stop fooling yourself. Jesus is the only way. That means all Buddhist's, Muslim's, Hindu's, Wiccan's, and Universalist's are going to Hell, unless they repent. I know I have just said that billions of people are going to Hell, if they don't repent, but the road to destruction is broad. Matthew 7:13-14. Stop believing the lies of Satan. Repent!

@TracyB777
I prefer to hear Gods words myself... like prophets across all cultures.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat Since you don't have God's word as a standard, then all you are left with is your own imagination. I ask you which is more reliable? A collection of 66 books which have existed unchanged for thousands of years, or your own subjective imagination?
How do you know that it is God? I don't doubt you are in connection with some spirit. How can you prove it is the Holy Spirit? You have abandoned your only method of testing. There is only 1 Holy Spirit, there are many evil spirits.
TracyB777 2 months ago
@TracyB777
This is what many prophets did as well...
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat They did not write according to their own imagination. God wrote through them. Everything in the Bible is true. You have no way to validate truth, using your approach. Since, you have no objective standard by which to judge.
The truth is you don't care about actual truth. You only care about what makes you feel good. If it makes you feel good, then you call it truth. The truth is that Satan will make you feel good with lies. Often times the truth hurts, and goes against you.
TracyB777 2 months ago
@arepasheat Also, by only seeking things that make you feel good you don't ever achieve what God actually wants you to do. You cannot do what is right in God's eyes, by only seeking to please yourself. You only achieve what seems right in your own eyes. This totally ignores what God actually wants. You are not God. So your method is clearly false. I seek what God wants me to do. I can know what God wants me to do, by obeying God's word. That is the unchanging 66 books of the Bible. Repent!
TracyB777 2 months ago
@TracyB777
In this sense God is within us.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat How can you know that? Since you have rejected the Bible as a valid source of information about God, how can you know anything about God? I know that God is all knowing because I can see it in God's word, in which I do trust. Since you have no such standard you can look to, outside yourself, you cannot prove to me that your statement is true. Am I just supposed to take your word on it? Who are you, that the whole world should have to check with you to learn about God? You are blind.
TracyB777 2 months ago
@TracyB777
Am I more blind than the prophets in the bible that transcribed these words? Are you more blind? In what way were they different from you and I?And who translated all of these words into different languages? Many many many many many different humans as well. I'm not rejecting the Bible. I take the same view as you. One should not place blind trust in any information that a human being claims to have received from God I'm skeptical of messages/dreams etc of my own but also others.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat Translation does not require divine intervention. It just requires adequate scholarship. As long as you completely understand the languages involved, you can translate. So, your appeal to translations is weak. Translation can be trusted. Otherwise how could a Japanese speaking man communicate with an English speaking man? We still have the transcripts the Bible was translated from. Verify it yourself it you doubt it, just don't dismiss it in your ignorance. Do you sin?
TracyB777 2 months ago
@TracyB777 Yes, I've sinned. What about my appeal that the information is being received from God by human beings? How is that different from an individual now? Has God stopped talking to people through visions and dreams? As for translations, there's definitely the possibility of differences in the translation meanings especially with such ancient texts. Also, forgeries. "the bible is true because it says in the bible it is true." Every religion says that as well.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat The question was "Do you sin?" Do you still sin? Also, the Bible is finished. We cannot claim to be able to write Holy Scripture under divine inspiration. Revelation was the last book. There is a warning in Rev 22:18-19. To say you can add to the Bible brings judgment upon your own head. Repent!
If you really doubt the translation quality, don't be lazy about it. Learn Hebrew, and Greek. Don't continue in your blind conjecture. You assume fault without proof. Prove it.
TracyB777 2 months ago
@TracyB777
I have grown a lot from when I was younger and I base my decisions on how they affect my own heart and others.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat I'm not a humanist. I'm a Christian. Follow Jesus, and stop sinning. As long as you continue in your sin, you're an enemy of God. God will cast all His enemies into the Lake of Fire on Judgment Day. It's appointed once for a man to die, and after that the judgment. Thinking you can find your own way to God, comes from your pride. You are unwilling to accept God's way, and think God will accept your way. He will not. You must be Born Again to enter, or see the Kingdom of God. Repent!

@TracyB777
When you aren't on the right path you don't receive this guidance as I've experienced both. bless-
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat The one you listen to says you're on the right path, because it is the wide way. The one you serve is the Devil. With sin still in your life, you're not on the narrow path.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Repent!
TracyB777 2 months ago
@arepasheat I like your thoughts about shedding love everywhere and making earth a better place. Is that based on divine principles or humanistic principles? And how do you know the god you serve is the only true God of the universe? What sets your faith apart from humanism?
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@TracyB777 Are you the fire and brimstone type? That's how you come across to me. Your words are cutting, cruel. Did you know that even if you quote scripture if you don't speak it with love you misrepresent God?
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 Jesus is the fire and brimstone type. "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Mark 9:43-44
God's word is a sword it is supposed to cut. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" Eph 6:17
Jesus said love will rebuke & chasten. Rev 3:19.
TracyB777 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 The problem is that Universalists are seeking to misrepresent God, That is why you don't obey God's word. You don't like the God revealed in Scripture, so you create another god of your own imagination. Your god accepts all sin like a sewer, and has no standard at all. You call that love. The true God revealed in Scripture will only accept holiness. God is completely intolerant of sin. God will cast all sinners into Hell, on judgment day. He gave us a way to stop sinning. Repent!
TracyB777 1 month ago
@TracyB777 I know the spirit behind you.I meet people like you all the time on YouTube. Full of fanatical hatred. The difference I suggest between you and Christ is that He was qualified by the Spirit to rebuke punblicly and even then He did it with love.Tell me, when your children disobey do you burn them to death? Or do you torture them everyday with a red hot poker? If not why not? Because that's exactly what you are teaching God does to His children.
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 You don't know the Spirit within me. He is the Holy Spirit. Sinners don't know Him. 1John 2:3-6, Matt 7:21, Luke 13:25.
I am qualified. 2Timothy 4:2.
Sinners aren't God's children, they're children of the Devil. 1John 3:8-9, John 8:44
Humanism doesn't help you. You're only seeking what seems right, to you. God doesn't agree. Prov 12:15, Prov 21:2, Luke 16:15.
If you don't like the idea of burning forever in darkness then surrender you fight against God. Repent, and stop sinning.

@TracyB777 Well only God knows whether I am sinning or not, not you. i still get the impression that you are full of self-righteousness. While it is true that a sincere believer will not sin deliberately everything he does is still corrupted by a sinful nature. So are you saying you are not sinning deliberately or you are not sinning at all.
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 I can judge you by your fruit. You are against the idea that we can stop sinning. This tells me that you believe everyone sins all the time. Your actions have consequences. I can connect the dots.
Also, if you really worship at an Universalist church, that would also show you as a sinner. The Bible says the light has NO FELLOWSHIP WITH DARKNESS. (Ephesians 5:11)
TracyB777 1 month ago
@TracyB777 For the record I am not a universalist. I am a Christian saved by grace of God. I know I am a sinner and always in need of grace. I love the Lord and His law is my constant delight. But I hate those who claim to be Christian but are of the synagogue of Satan and sit in self-righteous judgment of others and their beliefs. I think you need to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn humility and love.
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 I didn't know if you were an Universalist, or not. That's why I said "IF" You seem to be judging me by your own personal opinion, as a standard. That by definition would make you SELF righteous. I only judge by God's word, which is of HIS righteousness; not of my own. The Bible says you are a liar
1John 2:3-4 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

@TracyB777 .... If it is the latter I will draw your attention to the following: "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. ... If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 It's saying the same as verse 10. About PAST sins. I have sinned in the past, yes. Yet, it doesn't mean I have to keep sinning. If you think this one verse is teaching you can keep sinning, and not go to Hell, then you don't know anything about the book of 1John. The purpose of the book of 1John is found in this verse.
1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye SIN NOT. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
TracyB777 1 month ago
@TracyB777 You can quote scripture all you like but it will not redeem you in the slightest. You clearly enjoy denigrading others you dont even know, presumably to make yourself feel better -- what is called the "holier than thou" attitudee.
brianhyde63 1 month ago

Btw I am not a universalist, so get your facts right first b4 you judge others.
brianhyde63 1 month ago
@brianhyde63 You are completely wrong. Here are a few of the many quotes that prove the Ante-Nicene Church believed in eternal torment.
Irenaeus, Against Heresies Book 4, Chapter 39.4
Irenaeus, Against Heresies Book 4, Chapter 28.1
Justin, Hortatory Address to the Greeks Chapter 35 Hippolytus, Refutation of All Heresies Book 10, Chapter 30
The Bible clearly teaches eternal torment. Here is a good one. Rev 14:11.

I pray that you have a dream that shows you the truth of God's inner light and the purpose of love and life.
arepasheat 2 months ago
@arepasheat You speak of inner light. The scripture says,"There is a way that seems right to a man--women included :) --but in the end it leads to death" Proverbs 16:25. I have asked myself, why? Because what we think is right is often so unreliable. If the Bible is right and I beleive it is, man is a fallen sinful being and it is dangerous for him to depend on his own heart or impressions or "inner light" etc unless it is informed by God's word or Spirit. Peace be with you. . .

Jesus is the Savior of all, especially for those who trust in Him. God's grace & mercy will win out over everything else in the end, after His judgment. Those who reject God will face Him on judgment day but God will not write them off forever.

Why does a group that claim to "Celebrate Diversity" have a membeship over 95% White, middle/upper middle class and over 90% belonging to one side of the political spectrum? And if you're so welcoming, why are you still as small as you were 50 years ago?
NixonisLord 5 months ago
@NixonisLord: I've had this question for two decades of MOST liberal "institutions", having established liberals within my family, & having grown up with preachy siblings who became hard core libs. I wound up marrying a "person of color" & having bi-racial kids with my "brown" (and republican) wife (I'm libertarian); yet all the "supa-liberals" I know are almost ALWAYS exclusively engaged in liberal entities that are white, upper middle class to rich, highly educated. My siblings no exception.
ScottMacFie 5 months ago
@ScottMacFie that is because white people are usually more liberal as they have the money to travel the world, gain new experiences, have time to read books, are more educated, etc. than people of color. This leads to more liberal thinking. A lot of libertarians are 'liberal' in the moral sense just not in the economic sense.
TickleMehNancy 4 months ago
@TickleMehNancy : I'm a libertarian myself actually (and have been for 20 years, before it was "trendy"). The Tea Party was arguably started by libertarians (then hijacked).
ScottMacFie 4 months ago
@ScottMacFie I think it's because, generally speaking, whites are more educated than minorities. Smarter, better educated people tend to be more liberal as they are exposed to more worldviews. This is why the less educated in our society, the conservatives, the tea party, label liberals as "elitist". I imagine this church remains small because it services this smaller niche of our society.
robertl30 4 months ago
@robertl30 : There are many problems with your theory, all of which cannot be responded to here, except to say, if 92 to 98 percent of blacks vote democrat (and for liberals) in elections, why are their not more in the UU movement? Or are more pro-gay? Also, a VERY HIGH percentage of Muslims that live in the Western world are ultra-conservative. Also, for 40 years, libs named anyone who was conservative "elitists", the old George Herbert Walker Prescot Jebediah Episcopal Bush stereotype.

Just as I figured, most of the comments are from people who don't comprehend the simple fact that people with different beliefs can share the same values. I don't believes there are supernatural entities, so I guess that makes me an atheist. But, when I explored atheist and humanist groups, I discovered that I did not share the same values as many...possibly even most of the non-believers....and that's why I am a Unitarian Universalist.
rusty57 7 months ago
@rusty57 "How can two walk together, except they be agreed?" The Bible asks. First of all, if we truly have DIFFERENT BELIEFS then truly we do not share "the same values." The fact is folks in the UU all can "agree" because they really do NOT have "different beliefs." That is how you guys can "walk together." You guys have "different titles" "varying labels" but really you guys have the SAME BELIEF that "unity of mankind" supercedes or is sovereign over any individual "idea" or "ideology."
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@rusty57 Now, tell me I am lying. You can't because you know that I am not. I speak TRUTH. Members of the UU -- You guys believe "unity" is sovereign over any "one belief" or "philosophy" so that is why a so-called "Christian" "Buddihst" "Atheist" "Hindi" "Baha'i" "Agnostic" "Wiccan" "Muslim" "Jew" can ALL break bread under the same fellowship as a so-called "church" setting. But, the REALITY is to UU such "varying beliefs" are merely considered "titles" and "philosophies" NOT TRUE FAITH/LIFE
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM "Members of the UU -- You guys believe "unity" is sovereign over any "one belief" or "philosophy"
Exactly! That's the whole point in a nutshell. In a modern secular society, you have to work, go to school and live in the same neighbourhoods with people of all different cultures and religions. The universal approach....which has fundamentalists all bent out of shape, is just the natural inclination to respect others who are different that we meet every day.
rusty57 7 months ago
@rusty57 Exactly. So, what I said was TRUTH. You all have the same belief. And, none of you are really "atheist" "christian" "buddhist" "muslim" "jew" "wiccan" "hindi" or "whatever." That is exactly my point. So, UU should stop being disingenous to say that "all such" are a part of it, when really that is not true. All you guys truly have the SAME BELIEF & SAME FAITH. That is why I purely quoted THE BIBLE: "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" So, UU is really its OWN "faith."
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM
We have the same beliefs about what is really important to make the world a better place. The fact that most of your fundamentalist Christian brethren are denying the reality of climate change and other threats for future generations informs me that fundamentalists share beliefs that are either harmful or unhelpful.
rusty57 7 months ago

@rusty57 Climate change means nothing when GOD IS GOING TO CREATE A NEW HEAVEN and NEW EARTH anyone. So, you are fighting for that which is temporal and must pass away anyhow. Fight for souls. Fight for the deliverance of Jesus Christ to break the curses, sadness, infirmities, pain, bondage off of folks minds and shatter deception in their hearts and remove the scales from their eyes that they MAY SEE and KNOW HIM. That is what's important. This world is going to pass away.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM :"That is why a TRUE BELIEVER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST would never and could never be a UU!"
Why do you assume that everyone should share the same metaphysical beliefs? I grew up in the kind of stifling religious zealotry that you promote....and that's how I ended up as an atheist in the first place!
If everyone is supposed to believe the same God, why are there so many different religions today? The "one true" path is the first step towards religious war and tyranny.
rusty57 7 months ago
@rusty57 No, you ended up an ATHEIST because you NEVER BELIEVED IN JESUS CHRIST. You never KNEW HIM. You were too busy thinking about junk like "metaphysical beliefs" and "stifling religious zealotry" instead of just FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM. Just getting to KNOW HIM. Just getting to be WITH HIM. There are different beliefs because of folks like you. The read something in THE BIBLE "disagree" and start their own stuff or fall away. I invite you to forget that junk and JUST KNOW HIM.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM
That's why Christian book stores are full of books about rebuilding or returning to faith.
rusty57 7 months ago

LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@rusty57 And, that is what truly separates the TRUE BELIEVER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST from any other individual (including some "fellow believers"). A True Believer -- simply Believes. It is not attached to anything political or social. It is simply attached to HIM. A True Believer -- does not fear the things the World fears. Over population? Huh? Why? If you have 15 kids, is God whom feeds the sparrow NOT great enough to feed your kids? See, Man is AFRAID to suffer "lack" and "loss."
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@rusty57 So, that is why Man feels he has to trust "himself" that which he can only touch and "see." But, even though we "touch" and "see" each other everyday, yet we still have no real HOPE in one another. Why? Because we are afraid to admit we are NOT IN CONTROL. We can have the best intention to do and yet, LIFE and CIRCUMSTANCE can stop that very action. It takes humility to embrace that we are NOT IN CONTROL. But, here is the PEACE OF GOD -- HE IS! :) So, let go. Dive in. Fall Deep.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago

Please.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago

UU is the first church I've joined that most truly follows this commandment.
janet444 9 months ago
@janet444
my Child is 5
I love Him in CHOICE Not Feelings ALONE
i agree with Very Little my 5 year old Believes and Does
why???
because he is 5 years OLD!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus Said Love the Lord your GOD
He is the LORD!
Jesus is ALL WE NEED!
libbyandtai 8 months ago
@libbyandtai Yes, you're entitled to your beliefs. I'm not quite sure what you're saying. You don't need to agree with someone to love them. That's kind of the point with UU. We don't agree with everyone's point of view, but we respect them and we treat one another with love and respect.
janet444 8 months ago
Uhm guys, I think the point of this church is to celebrate, explore different ways of thinking and different views of spirituality. Also to gain insight and tolerance. What's so bad about that?

@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Jesus Said i am THE WAY

@YouCanCallMeCharlz Exactly. lol XD
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM So in other words, you're a bigot. I doubt you will be able to grasp the full meaning of these words under the shroud of your various delusions, but you really need to realize that there will always be other perspectives held by good people. It's people like you who make the world a bitter place. Plus, I don't think that Jesus loves anyone if he's just going to let innocent people fall into eternal torture after they die, just because they don't believe the right thing. It's petty.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Maybe we call you bigots because your christian views are bigoted. There are so many Christian ideas that are totally unethical Like, how can you justify eternal hell? And if God is all knowing, all powerful, and all loving god would help all the starving children in africa? But he doesn't.There for he is unable, unknowing, doesn't care, or doesn't exist. And can you show me proof of this God?If you had proof, you could show the world, and we wouldn't call you delusional bigots.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Your SINS are just due punishment for Hell. But, that is why THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST is so amazing! Because He took our punishment upon Himself on The Cross and shed His Blood and became the PERFECT sacrifice and broke the power of SIN, DEATH and HELL you don't have to go there unless you are intent on serving your SINS. As far as hungry kids in Africa, let's also include hungry kids in the U.S. everywhere -- That is why GOD PUT US HERE! What are you doing to ease it????
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Yes. There are many hungry people here too. My area is suffering from But God does nothing. That's my point. He can do anything, but he doesn't. As for hell, that idea is not ethical, at all. I wish you could see that. I don't want to worship a God who will send people to be tortured eternally just for not believing.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Now, you are going too far! How do you KNOW God does NOTHING when you don't eve seek Him? To "see" what He can do? See, that right there is offensive to me. Because I KNOW GOD IS REAL. I know God provides. I cannot tell you the countless prayers and tears I have lifted up to Him and just as right as rain -- The Lord would send a MIRACLE. How is it that when I was sick and dying my father a MAN OF GOD prayed and INSTANTLY my body was healed 25 years ago! So much more.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf See the problem is... You atheists and agnostics are so "against God" and so against anyone that has a "relationship with The Lord" that you do not even see that you operate out of the most sheer level of prejudice and offensive. Because you guys don't Love The Lord, don't Seek Him and some of you even Hate Him? Why should GOD DO ANYTHING to show you anything about Himself? If He did. When He does. You guys STILL REJECT and look for "human" answers to explain it away.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf And, God loves people that is WHY HE SENT HIS SON to SAVE US from torture. My question is, with that kind of LOVE and MERCY in The Lord Jesus Christ... Why do you guys STILL reject Him? Why do you choose NOT to "believe?" See, there are some whom "struggle to believe" but, they WANT to believe. These are those GOD will always SHOW them HIMSELF. But, then there are those whom simply do NOT want to believe. My question is why? Why would you NOT want HIS LOVE? That's sad!
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM That's called a delusion. Problem is, this delusion has been the norm for so long that people never see it for what it is. People have encouraged your delusion for your entire life, I'm guessing. That's called group think. It's keeping you from thinking for yourself. And that's sad. Really sad.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf See, and look at the prejudice in your words. You think MY FAITH is built on "what someone told me" Ha! If FAITH was that easy, then you would BELIEVE. :) You guys are the ones whom think you got all the answers and for the answers you don't have you poo-poo it away as being "delusional" OR "arguable." That's pitiful to live a life like that. You never take the time to ask yourself, MAN! WHAT IF GOD REALLY IS REAL? You never THINK that perhaps I LOVE HIM because HE IS!
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@LPATWILLFILM That's not what I said. I'm not going to continue this if you aren't going to read my comments, or address any of my questions. It's useless arguing with you.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf First starts in WANTING TO KNOW HIM. God is a gentleman. He does NOT force His presence upon anyone. You don't want to get to know Him (albeit He so desires that you do), yet, He will allow you your "space." But, He is so good! Because even in our NOT WANTING TO KNOW HIM, He will send His Servants, His laborers, His Children (in the face of rejection and ridicule) to still tell you of HIS LOVE and How much He wants you to KNOW HIM! :) That's the GOD I SERVE. Marvelous!
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM I would rather not have a choice and avoid eternal torture. Thank you. It's irresponsible for him to give us that choice without any proof to base that decision on.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Because you do NOT HAVE THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST indwelling NOR abiding in your heart you are bitter and feel you "need numbers" and "support of others" to make you not feel as ALONE and POWERLESS as you really are. But, in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST --- You don't have to be alone, fearful nor powerless. His LOVE is marvelous... Won't you try HIM today? HE IS WAITING FOR YOU! :)
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM You haven't addressed any of my questions. I am not bitter nor do I feel alone and powerless. I am rational, and I believe in myself. I don't need a crutch. I can tell you truly have a good heart and good intentions. I respect and admire that. I just don't agree with your method of spreading the word. If you could only see from my point of view, you would see how offensive it is to people of other beliefs.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf But, see you guys don't see how "your way" is "offensive" either. It is like with the Gay Community --- everyone "believes" their way is "right" and because of that they think their "way" is not also offensive. I am offended by UU. Just as much as they are probably offended by Biblical Christians. I am offended by Apostate, Apologetic Christians that are trying to "blend" with this "age." You see, I know I AM OFFENSIVE. Jesus said HIS WORD WOULD OFFEND. But, how many...
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Problem is, you think you have a divine right to be offensive. From our perspective, that is irrational because there is no proof that your offensive nature has any validity. There will always be people with other beliefs. And as long as those beliefs do not harm anyone, they have the right to be free to live them out with out being discriminated against.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Look, I was a devoted Christian for years. I thought I had a strong relationship with Jesus, I studied the bible in depth, I spread the word, I won many debates against Atheists and Agnostics. I know what it's like to be on the other side, with the other perspective. I remember what it felt like when people questioned my beliefs. I felt like I was being attacked, and I felt sorry for that other person too. You need to understand that your belief is not superior to anyone else's.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf Then WHY did you LEAVE HIM? How could you leave Him? Devotion means dedication. So, if you were "dedicated" and "devoted" how could you leave Him? Man! I tell you, I love HIM SO MUCH this WORLD is 0% to me! His love and power has been so rich in my life... I can't leave Him. There is a "difference" you know in "spreading the Word" and "Contending for the Faith" and truly HAVING A RELATIONSHIP with Him. I notice you say: "I thought I had a strong relationship" ...
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@BreakTheSkyMyseIf That's very troubling statement for reasons of: If you "thought" you had a strong relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ, how is it that you did not "know" you had this relationship? I mean, what was your "relationship" built upon? Winning debates? Witnessing? Spreading The Word? OR Simply walking with Him? Simply talking with Him? Simply getting to KNOW Him? That's the relationship. The stuff you mention is the "work" the "labor." But, we LABOR because we LOVE.
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Yes. I agree. You have every right to present the word to the world. That is a beautiful thing. But to strike down something that promotes tolerance? No. Tolerance is a good thing.
BreakTheSkyMyseIf 7 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM I think the biggest difference is: UU's may find you offensive, but UU's wouldn't try to keep you from worshiping your God, but you would clearly try to stop anyone who doesn't have your beliefs. Could it be you don't really have as strong a belief as you proclaim? I do think you protest and Evangelize too much. I'm completely comfortable in my beliefs, therefore I'm completely comfortable in sharing this planet and learning from anyone, as I prefer growth in spirituality & God
keverett256 7 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@keverett256 See, you guys don't THINK HELL is real. You don't THINK SIN is real. So, that is why when a true servant of The Lord Jesus Christ put before you TRUTH and WARNING out of HIS LOVE. You immediately get "offended" and THINK we are trying to STOP you. But the facts are, I can only share it. I've done my part. The choice is up to you to ACCEPT or REJECT and you're FREE (even by God) to do either/or. But, how unfair would it be that you were NOT "given" a choice to make?
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@keverett256 For what you consider "protest" and "evangelizing" is merely (when truly done in Spirit and in Truth) is simply me giving you a CHOICE. You can be "U" you can be "UU" you can be any "U" you want in this world. But, the fact is we are all going to LEAVE THIS WORLD. And, I know beyond shadow of a doubt JESUS CHRIST is The Way, The Truth & The Life -- So, why would I NOT share that with "U" or others to give you guys the "shot" of CHOOSING HIM? Now, if you think my sharing means...
LPATWILLFILM 7 months ago
@keverett256 I am trying to "stop" you... Then, I suggest you might want to consider how "completely comfortable" you truly are in your "beliefs." Shucks! Everyone is "protesting" and "evangelizing" you think Jehovah's Witness, Muslims, Krishnas, Buddhists, UUs, Homosexuals, KKK, Media, Hollywood, everyone is "sharing" their "beliefs" and "promoting" and "protesting" to get you to THINK about "their way" but only when a CHRISTIAN does this, then we are "charged" with trying to STOP you? Lol!
