im a new subbie! i love yours videos this was so helpfull i think im going to get the smashbox foundation, do u get more oily in the T zone?? i have combination skin and im worried this foundation makes me look too shiny
@Bambiroke thx! Yes I do get more oily on the T zone and this fdn isn't oil free so you will need to use a primer or touch up powder - I do hve to use a touch up powder with any of my fdns.
Great video, you're an excellent reviewer. I love the 10 hour Sleep Effect, plus I'm liking Smashbox HD Concealer in Fair/Light because it's light enough for me.
okay im NC37 in the winter and NC42 and i have acne scarring and oily skin like you. i was looking at LM suntan beige foundation, would this match me?
First of all, you do not match your foundation to your neck, you should match it to your chest and you start from the center then blending up and out, you don't want to mask the face you want to enhance it. If you didn't, then your neck and head would look like one big sore thumb sticking out from the rest of your body. That's not cool.
You also need to use a color correcting primer as well if you have any discoloration and the like. Green to tone down redness. Lilac for more mature women and men. Apricot for those with yellow or olive undertones, brown spots, acne scarring, freckles etc, it lightens the skin. Then you'll have the perfect canvas.
im gonna buy bourjois! i was lookin at other reviews and some say its amain and does last all day! so i think maybe it depends on ur type of skin and how much u put on!
Hi! i was thinkin of buyin laura mercier's foundation. i have combination skin and am nearly 17. it is quite expensive though and i was wonderin if it is really worth it?
Hi there - it is a high quality foundation. And I would say that it is medium to heavy coverage. If you don't have many fdns and are just looking for one - it is an investment IMO. It lasts quite long throughout the day, and also shelflife I think because you don't need much as it does have good coverage. It depends on what your looking for in a fdn. I use it only really for events and not daily use bcos it's quite heavy coverage IMO. hth?!
do you set your laura mercier foundation? i have it and i tend to get the oilies quickly. if you do set your foundation with powder, what powder do you use? thanks...
Yes I do - I use MAC MSFNatural now. I had in the past also used Chanel Universelle Poudre as well as RMK powder. All give great results. If you get oilies - perhaps use a makeup primer too if not already. hth
yes I would for a budget buy and nice finish. The only downside is that it doesn't last long on me - even with a primer. But it's a good drugstore version
great video. I'm interested in the bobbi brown foundations, because I heard they are really yellow (good for my skin). Can you answer this for me? Compared with your MAC NC27, which is more yellow toned under natural light? If MAC is yellower or about the same I wouldn't bother getting the bobbi brown! :)
I've only used one BB fdn and that was a bit light in colour for me so I don't hve much experience of BB fdns. But I've tried a few MAC fdns and they suit my yellow tone very well. Best thing is to try it at the counter if you can. hth
do you got to the states frequently cos a tint of an american accent sneaks in and out every now and then, but dont be offended cos i like it, its cool x
kind of funny. I just commented on another vid of yours about your eyebrows, and here they look totally different. you've changed the form of them lately?
Btw, you are talking in a video about dermalogica? (i think so)it is verrrry good! and they also have a good foundation!! but it is expencive!! :s :-) also a good healty foundation is couvrance... when you have an oily skin are acné sensitive skin you have to search for 'non comedogene' product ;-) it is just a tip! :-) good job! x
i just bought the bourjois 10 hour sleep effect foundation, & i'm really happy with it before i used dream matte moose by maybelline which i felt didn't cover up my blemishes or make my complexion flawless so i decided to have a change. i was torn between the 10 hour sleep effect or the new one that has the attached foundation brush, but i felt you were just paying for the brush and it was a waste of money! but saved £7 odd because it was 3 for 2 also bought a powder and mascara all by bourjois
super vid for your first one. I love the smashbox fx. It is best for dryer ancient skin. If you apply it by tapping it on it last all day! plus it is build-able.
I think that it would last a long time because you only need a small amount I feel. I would anticipate that if you used one pump of it daily, it would probably last 8 months. You really need only a little bit IMO.
I usually use studio fix but it's not my favorite since it can look chalky. MAC MSF Natural is my favorite so far, it's great and it doesn't break me out (I've bought 3 backups of it). There is also a brand called BeautiControl called Perfecting wet/dry finish, it's great for medium buildable coverage. I only use powder foundations because it's easier and also because my T zone is quite oily, so it's better for me. But now you've got me wondering about the smashbox and laura mercier.
I have a synthetic foundation brush of no name brand that I bought in Asia (Sa Sa store)- and it is similar to MAC's #190 but the hairs are more closely packed together so I don't get them separating into 'bunches' when I apply fdn. I don't find that the #190 works so well for me unfortunately as I find the application streaky.
But fingers do work just as well - or the stippling brush. I haven't tried my #187 with it so thanks for the tip!
I have chinese too (yay!). No wonder you're gorgeous, You're reviews are one of the best I've come across on YT :) Thanks for taking the time and answering my questions.
I wish they had the Bobbi Brown Long Lasting foundation in the UK, I'd buy it in a second!!! Not fair because we get hot and humid too and need long wear foundations just like Asia sometimes!
your so pretty you remind me of quagmire of family guy :D xxx
