  • perfect in all Respects !

  • Any ideas where I can learn to play that???

  • good job!

  • @averype Gold Tone OB-250.

  • Hi Jack: Just happened on your channel. Love that banjo picking. Like your version. Thanks for sharing. Gwen

  • man...

  • dude you kick ass at banjo!

  • This was my dad's signature tune that he played when I was a kid. Every time I hear it I'm brought back in time and remember him, thanks!

  • You're welcome. We all have tunes that take us back to another time and good memories.

  • the only banjo song i like is the one everyone has as their ringtone.

  • Hey good vid.

I dont normally like the sound of banjo music but I enjoyed this :)

  • i have a epiphone mb200 banjo it runs $250 but if that is still to much look at rouge banjos they are a lot cheaper or look at some used ones that are all ready broken in.

  • You're right, I've tried the Rogues (sp?) before.

    I actually have the Epiphone.

But S101 Guitars makes really good openbacks

  • real nice to hear some improvisation in there. actually listened to that twice not something i normally do.

would have been nice to see more of you playing though see how you was fretting and not just your picking hand

  • Thanks! This video was made a while ago and I'm going to make a new one. Now I try to film so the viewer can see both hands.

  • Nice job! I like what you done with it.

    Keep on pickin!

  • my dad used to play this alot when i was a kid

  • Why are banjos so darn expensive? I want to learn SO bad but I can't afford a banjo to learn on!

  • Banjos, good ones, are hard to make. You can get banjos for under $200, but the quality and sound may be crummy. But I have had some success in finding banjos(used) from $100 to a few hundred $ and they sound great. Check your local classifieds, flea markets, music stores, etc.

  • Ohhhh flea market, good idea!! Ive tried Craigslist and pawn shops with no success. I know I wont get the best quality for what Im looking to pay, but I just want one to learn on for now, until Im sure I can play!

  • If you try Elderly Instruments, they have many bluegrass instruments for sale for pretty descent prices, I bought my banjo from them for $125.00

  • that's a nice banjo dude

  • Thank you.

  • goldtone?

  • Yes, it's a GoldTone OB-250.

  • Its the plus version right?

  • When it was new(2003), there wasn't a plus version available yet. I'd consider it a plus version now after the slight upgrades and modifications that I've done to it. Either way, it's a great banjo & sounding better all the time.

  • Real nice, am learning that at the moment, sounds great!

  • yea nice touch in the beginning thats really good.

  • I like your double hammer on you throw in there..sounds good

  • Three finger Scruggs style, but you have a very nice touch of your own.
