  • VINYL IS KING i love it, just the crackling and the fact that its not like a cd where you put it the cd player and thats it, it's gone, vinyl you can watch going round and slow it down and make some chopped and screwed or scratch it or mix it. CDs feel too metallic with the cover encased in shiny plastic, it draws away from the cover, makes it muted and the sound is too good. I like rough around the edges, I don't like remastered copies. Vinyl has soul.

  • this is all great. im using the stations on somafm all the time now.

  • You have great taste in music. The most enjoyable way to discover good dj's, in my opinion, is go to the raves! Don't do too much weird shit though otherwise remebering the names of dj's is gonna be hard. Bbc radio1 airs essential mixes every week and they are free to download, it's legal to do so as well.

  • Good looking out man. I dig all your vids but favor this and your mini disc ones just cause i can tell you are enthusiastic about music.

  • woody here again for this "triplet" of videos you made. A site I go to frequently for different stuff is called 4shareddotcom.

  • Test? Think youtube lost my comment.

  • third try! I think youtube has something against links... even if you spell them out. Some UK sites for you.

    chemical-records

    redeyerecords

    breakbeat

Hope they don't fuck me out of this comment, I'd put the full address but I'm assuming that's why this shit ain't posting. :\

Bunch of places I used to get records from.

if this is a triple post, I apologize.

  • It's ok. YouTube really doesn't like links in comments... I had to learn that the hard way.

Thanks for the tips though... I'll go check those out.

  • Wow you're an idiot. Most of the music I talk about here has been started by BLACK PEOPLE numskull. Jungle? Heavy Jamaican Influence. House? Black people started it. Techno? Black people made the old classic tunes in Detroit. I can go on.

Oh, and being intelligent does not mean I'm acting white jackass. Black does not equal ignorant asshole. You being one does not mean you're acting black, it just means you're fucking stupid. So take your cretin ass off my channel.

  • Actually, I would say that to your face because I'm not afraid of idiots like you. And if you were ever stupid enough to try to kill me, it would be the last mistake you ever made.

You also continue to show how much you don't know about black music. Electro is japanese music?? Afrika Bambaataa's Planet Rock, Herbie Handcock's Rockit, Hell, even Zapp's More Bounce to the Once... that was fucking Electro dip-shit. Do your fucking homework before you try to talk to me about music.

  • Oh, and here's some more music history for your stupid ass to absorb:

Ever wonder why Hip Hop got it's start in the late 70's, and it was in New York City? because of the 77 black out. During all the riots that happened that night, a lot of poor black suddenly got their hands on electric music equipment that they never had before. They then put they creativity to work, and developed music techniques and sounds that ALL modern music uses to this day: sampling, voice modding, you name it.

  • These days you can't hear ANY modern pop music track without hearing something that black people came up with during the late 70's-early 80's. Pop samples all the time now; so does Rock. Electro (and Electro Funk), Dub, Hip Hop, House, Techno, Jungle... all these genres got their innovations and even their start by BLACK MUSICIANS. If you ever bothered to read a fucking book or actually study the history of music, you'd know this shit. But you don't, because you're a fucking moron.

  • Oh, and by the way, I noticed you're a hip hop fan: Hip Hop isn't known for using instruments. It's made with computers. You DO know what a sampler is, don't you? It's a specialized computer that "samples", or takes pieces of pre-made music and loops it. The beat maker then adds more loops, drum tracks, and other tunes to make a beat for the rapper to put his lyrics on. No one's playing instruments. The only hip hop group that does is The Roots. So, blacks don't use computers for music? Idiot.

  • I'm gonna end off this: being stupid isn't the same as being black. You're being "Big"? What the fuck does that mean; you're trying to act like the biggest idiot on the planet? Who gives a shit how much you act tough, or how much money you make, or if you own a gun? That doesn't say shit about the quality of your character, your mental development, and what legacy you left behind. Black people used to rule civilizations; you really think your cretin self can stand next to that legacy?

  • Please fucking learn a language fluently. It doesn't even have to be English. It can be any language. Hell, mate, even if you learned how to speak a made up language (such as Klingon), I would think more highly of you.

Don't you dare think that acting like an ignorant fool will garner you respect. You will never be taken seriously by anyone and you will never amount to a damn thing. You can change but it takes effort. Right now, mate, you are just a damn fool.

  • I am one of the weirdos with a stash; 1430 LPs.

Very little of it is rare/collectable, but when my computer is right again (if ever) I will be making it available. When I am ready, I will be tracking you down for your advice on the best ways to do that.

Thanks for these, and all you do.

  • I have been away a while, and saw this vid on my recent sub-video list. I'm going to have to watch any other videos you did on this subject, because I really enjoy the tunes you throw on the back of your videos. They're great, but really hard to find lol

  • iphones have Shazam - it listens to music and identifies the track, although I presume it can only identify 'published' music.

  • thanks for the links bro! im seriously into digging for underground electronic music.. i made my channel so i can post rare stuff that hardly is known but i dont know where to look.. and this really helps... thanks a million again! =)

  • I know the feeling SS, I've been trying to find Western Underground, Chris LeDoux's band here in Maine and I can't. At least not at wal-mart. But I might have to oerder their CDs online.

  • Shit, I know what you're saying. I used to have this video tape of when I recorded a 'Hot Hits' show and it had this awesome song which I lost eventually.

It was this rock band in the 90's. All I remember was this video where they had this car chace with austin minis, chaced by a cop car. The climate looked coldish, like it was shot in either Uk, or Canada, or who knows. I looked and looked on google, but couldn't find it. My reference of search was the video content and music genre. Arrggg!!
