Does anyone know what kind of ties this people may have had with the West African people who brought "capoeira" to Brazil? I know many of them were Muslim, and the music and purpose of the dances appear to be incredibly similar!
The symbols on the shields and on the black backdrop are Tamajaq "crosses," symbolic of regions or towns and the people who live in those regions. These are the symbols for Tchin-Tabaraden, in Niger. I lived there since 2000. :)
