  • tracer rounds are just as effective as any other round, they just tend to be less accurate because of the burning phosphorous altering the ballistics as the round flies...

  • @natewertz they do tend to land a bit short

  • scope on what looks like a m16 fail that rifle can hit anything with iron sights.

  • are tracer rounds as effective as normal rounds when it comes to penetrating a target?

  • sweet,cool,and or other wise........

  • doesn't American Eagle ammo have tracer rounds

  • Wow, never seen a tracer that ignited THAT fast. What FPS were those rounds? They seemed to ignite immediately.

  • looks like star wars

  • Star Wars

  • laser gun from 007 golden eye

  • Just one? C'mon dude, light it up! LOL! I got my guns off on my first set of YouTube vids, check 'em out MrBlister1972

  • Keep my mag loaded with a tracer stacked on a steel penetrator, back and forth, all the way down.

  • @Moldovawineimporter 1000 hundred yards? :P

  • some tracers (308/7.62) don't seem to light up until about 70 yards, you only use tracers if you are firing great distances and need to estimate bullet drop or windage, yes the enemy will use your own tracer path to locate you.

  • 0:12 2 words

    star wars

  • this would confuse the enemy to us having laser blasters xD

  • dude THAT LOOK LIKE A STAR WARS BOLT so THAT IS HOW GEORGE LUCAS MADE THE STAR WARS BOLT! LItersally and TRACER ROUNDS ARE COOL and CAN SEE HOW FAST THE BULLETS GO! DAMN! OuO

  • ARRRRGA IMA FIRE MY LAZOR!

  • You can see a tracer from all angles. So you kinda have to use them carefully cuz not only does it help you see where your rounds are going. But it shows everyone else where the rounds are coming from to. I hope that answers your question.

  • Good thing you didn't slow it down. Slowing down regular footage just makes the video seem laggy. If you want to have slow motion, invest in a better camera. Otherwise, it's painful to watch (or hear).

  • is it possible to dodge a tracer

  • is tracer rounds leagel in ny?

  • @italianbistro130 ARE tracer rounds LEGAL in ny

  • Shooting tracers is mighty fun.

  • americans get everything kool :|

  • yup ^_^

  • we sure do

  • It's almost a fair trade off for getting called an apathetic, dumb ass anytime I leave.

  • @xredfogx come on over bro we welcome all who are willing to work hard and preserve liberty and freedom. We are currently workin on ridding ourselves of the socialists over here but dont worry America will never falter

  • You could have it too if you'd fight the government.

  • @xredfogx yes...yes we do

  • @xredfogx You got that right!!

  • @xredfogx u know it

  • Slow-mo sounds like a rusty transformer! sweet

Tracer fire is so beautiful, which is good and bad i guess

  • lol the slo mo looks like something from star wars lol

  • lol i was gunna say that

  • It does look like somthing outta star wars.

  • lol that's true, like a laser shot

  • cool

  • fucken cool..

man.. you can really buy that sorta hardware in america?

  • yup as long as your 18 and have a clean record

  • cool.

  • whoa! slowing it down the sound reminded me of the matrix

that's probably where they got their sounds from :O!!!!!!

  • when you said 55 gallon drum i thought you meant it was filled with some sort of oil... :(

    lol

  • what are tracers? some kind of a bullet type u can see fly? lol

  • They are coated in phosphorus which burns bright red.

  • nice..it looks kinda like laser shots in star wars ;D

  • + burns out barrels so your accuracy gets horribly too! But it is fun! I just started a fire at my local range the other day. They said I could use them so they couldn't get too mad, lol.

  • Can the enemy see the tracer if you shoot at them or can you only see them from behind?

  • I would say the people that could answer this question probable could not answer quick enough at 2500+ fps that's not a lot of time.

  • I hear some soldiers have to lead against a target that sprinting perpendicular since 25mph = 11.5m/s = 1m in 0.087sec

A 5.56mm bullet takes over 0.1 of a second to travel 100m, so if you are beyond that distance you could effectively dodge if the bad guy was only aiming at your centre mass. As by the time the bullet travels the long distance to where he was aiming, you have moved the short 1m distance out of the way.

But that is what SAW gunners are for to spray an area with fire.

  • not every round is a tracer usaly every 5-6 rounds is a tracer so even if thay see the tracer thay would probaly already got hit with a standard round

  • it's not the volume of fire, but the speed of each bullet.

  • your brain would not be able to register fast enough that a bullet is coming after you and then be able to jump out of the way

  • @SGPYoungMon3y

Well the idea is if you are running perpendicular to the shooter, you don't need good reaction times as you are already moving at full pelt out of the way of any bullets aimed at you.

You just have to assume a shooter will only aim at where you are at the moment they pull the trigger rather than the moment the bullet reaches them (one foot to the side).

  • @rmhoutz lol tracers work both ways man. famous quote.

  • @rmhoutz Tracer rounds seem to be slow and when they get close to you there is no way you can escape because they seem to gain lightning fast speed in a fraction of seconds. If you see it coming at you, you can duck, but if it's already close there is no escape. (a guy who actually ducked from a tracer round in Kosovo told me)

  • @rmhoutz Yeah, but his buddies that you didn't shoot know what bush you're in

  • @187Godhand2 yes the enemy can definaly see tracer rounds

  • @187Godhand2 yes .. tracers work both ways.

  • @187Godhand2 the could probably see it but it would be to late if the see them they would be killed

  • @187Godhand2 to answer your question, yes anyone can see it (thats why tracers are usually alternated into every 5th round)

  • @187Godhand2 Normally you would not see the tracer until you are several degrees off of boreline. Even then, it is not hard to remember that "SNAP" "thump" is the sound of incoming. 8)

  • @187Godhand2 by time they see it they would be dead but in multiples the enemy would shit their fire for the sniper

  • @187Godhand2 Yeah man, in the vietnam war in at night time, they would just fire in the direction where tracers came from. Besides its typically only every 3-7 round that is a tracer one depending on the weapon.

  • @187Godhand2 yes you can see the glow of tracers from all angles

  • @187Godhand2 I know you posted this a long time ago but my dad was in the military for 14 years and has shot tracers, i just asked him and he said that it's just a magnesium coating on the back of the bullet. they are shot in a ratio of 1 tracer to every 4 normal rounds. and he says you can only see the tracer from behind. hope that helps.

  • @187Godhand2 Yes. Tracers work both ways. Everyone can see the tracer, so its pretty easy to pin-point where fire is coming from.

  • @187Godhand2 tracers work both ways...

  • @187Godhand2 Tracers can be seen at any angle.

  • ima chargin mah lazorrr!

  • i found that you could not really pick them up til about two hundred, then they look sweeeet

  • Can you get tracers on the civilian market? I didn't think you could, but not sure.

  • Yea sure. Just Google it you'll find them.

  • You can but they can get expensive (20 for $20 at least for 7.62x39 tracer ammo).

Also they aren't too good for your gun. It is ok if you shoot 1 every 5-10 rounds, but loading your entire mag with them (or belt if you are lucky enough to own an MG) can ruin your barrel.

  • @HogRebel

There was a time when there were .223 incendiary rounds were available in civilian markets, but sometime ago that AZ company closed down =(

I think gunsamerica still carries tracers, not sure

  • There illegal in new york so i wouldn't know where to get them?

  • haha star wars!!!

btw any1 kno if there's a website with 7.62x39 tracers?

  • i found a box of 223 tracer rounds on the loring air force base in limestone maine.

  • Looks like a damn lazer...

  • That slow-motion sound is WEIRD, huh?!! Sounds like a guitar string breaking....or a spring bustin'!

  • yeah

  • You could probably make your own, the tip is similar to a match tip and the friction of the air lights it.

  • what's a tracer?

  • its a bullet that lights up..

  • in the army they put 1 each 3 rounds so taht they can see where they shoot at night

  • "Where is the rabbits foot, tom cruise?"

  • where the fuck did you get TRACER ROUNDS!?!?!

  • From a Gun Shop maybe?? Just a Thought.

  • It's just that tracer rounds are illegal almost everywhere in the states...

  • thats a nice sounding gun

  • Oh crap I saw that too! What are the odds get getting shot by a .50 cal in ear protection? Actually I'm not sure if it hit dead on there but that guy sure is lucky. I'm never going shooting without ear protection after seeing that vid.

  • LOL star wars gunnss

  • I hope you can make that shot with Iron sights as well.

  • LOL i'm glad it wasn't have you seen the .50 cal ricochet shot on here.

  • lol star wars status

  • The tracer is made by Talon I got them from cheaperthandirt but the box has a site on it talonammo that does not seem to work.

  • Who made the tracer? I never see mine till they're 100 yards out or so..cool capture of the round coming out!
