  • found this album randomly and picked it up...fucking glad i did

  • Fucking awesome band! need to buy the album soon \m/

  • How am I not surprised they're Finnish?

  • wow this pretty badass XD

  • I have the strangest urge to commit arson.

  • eleleeleelelelee got it..

  • I think they play a lot better than turisas

  • There is no freaking didgeridoos in this song, they play something called jew´s harp.

    But it's an okay song.

  • @BarbaricGoose Should probably fix the description then lol.

  • @AbsoluteJake Meh.

  • @Thebutterflyboy great comment :)

  • @Thebutterflyboy There is a didgeridoo in there and it's wierd you can't hear it.

  • @DimebagsZombie @DimebagsZombie No there's no didgeridoo in this song, it's something called jew's harp, but dont let you be fooled it's not a harp. It's an instrument that's common in folkmusic and folk styled music in the part of the world where Crimfall is from.

  • @Thebutterflyboy I an hear the didgeridoo perfectly in the beginning.

  • Comment removed

  • @Thebutterflyboy I'm honestly not trolling and I do hear the harp. But I play the didgeridoo myself and I do hear a VERY didgeridoo-esque sound starting at the 19-20 second range. As for it not making sense, I do agree with you; however, it is their music, and despite their past they have the complete right to innovate their sound.

  • @DimebagsZombie Yeah that sound that begins about 20 seconds in is a jew's harp, also know as jaw harp, mouth harp, Ozark harp. I myself have played jew's harp, and I know that sound. As I said, search for, Garmarna - Skallen, and you will hear it's the same. Because it's not a harp, jew's harp you play by holding with 2 fingers at the edge of your mouth and pulling on a metall peg with another finger. It does not look or sound like a harp. I dont know why it's called "harp", we say "mungiga".

  • @Thebutterflyboy I actually looked up the Jew's Harp and listened to it myself. I digress. The word "harp" threw me off quite a bit. I do play on the didgeridoo though (still working on circular breathing) and maintain the similarities in sound, but that's neither here nor there. You were right.

  • Going to see them live as support for Turisas, if im not mistaken

  • @neckreth Turisas is fuckin' great. My favorite song by them is actually in the related videos.

  • best intro ever

  • awesome synth

  • Great Song! And the vocals in the beginning are totally Avatar-like, very different from the rest of the song but really beautiful.

  • This is badass. I'll definitely have to look more into this band. I do a metal band of the month series on my channel, and I've just added these guys to the list!

  • @olivemitten, I think you mean an instrument that's called "munniharppu" in Fnnish and according to Wikipedia, Jew's harp in English. :D

  • I have this album. It only has two good songs. this one is the best. buy blackguard or some eluveitie if you are looking for a solid folk death metal album.

  • 3:12 they sound a bit like moonsorrow. epic.

  • Greetings from Germany :)!

  • Can anyone tell me what the name of the instrument is that makes that sort of sproingy sound? A lot of other folk metal bands use it, like Spellblast in Goblins' Song and Finntroll in Fornfamnad (just for another reference in case my onomatopoeia explanation didn't cut it).

  • @olivemitten I think it may be the didgeridoos, I may be wrong though..

  • why is this band so infamous??? -_-

  • @99kitz What do you mean?

  • @BarbaricGoose He thinks infamous is the opposite of famous. To answer his question though, it's because folk metal isn't really the most popular of musical genres. Not too many famous folk metal bands out there.

  • @CrazyMetalZombie Well how would you define famous? I don't think they're a household name yet, or anything. :P

  • @CrazyMetalZombie lol i have no idea why did i say infamous there,,, i feel like im a dumb fuck now,,, lololol

  • @CrazyMetalZombie Well, depending on your classification, Amon Amarth is pretty big, though I've heard the term Viking Metal used for it...

  • @Niiro2 Amon Amarth are a death metal band anyway. Not to mention they do a pretty good job of getting their name out there. Signed to a major label and whatnot.

  • Best song on this album!

  • \m/ FROM ITALY

  • Fucking amazing song.

  • scandenavia has the best music ever!!

  • eeeeeeeeheeeeeeeheheheheheheeeeeeeeee

    eeeeeeeehehheeheheeeeeeeeeeeejeeeeee

    eeeeeeeeeeeehhheeeeeheheheheheeeeeeeeeeee ^.^

  • Moonsorrow uses didgeridoos, you can get them from like every music store, what's so special about them?

  • @Pakanahymni I never said there was anything special about them.

  • @BarbaricGoose With a captial AWESOME. I mean, Didgeridoos, Youtubes, Didgeridoos, Didgeridoos! What more can I say?

ya well u made it sound like it was very special no?? i mean the word was repeated 3 times

  • @misery8305 Some things are best repeated. Some things are best repeated.

  • @BarbaricGoose Sorry to dampen your spirits, but that is a Jews Harp at the start, not a didgeridoo.

  • @deathUUK Can you blame me? They sound almost exactly alike. Anyway, the more ya know. Thanks.

  • @BarbaricGoose i mean great band tho and thanks for the post

  • bello!

  • first time i've ever heard this band (i'm going through youtube looking or new music) and i'm very pleased with this. the vocals sound a bit quiet to me, but that could just be my weird headphones.... otherwise it's simply amazing!

  • good music to play with a slinkey :'D

  • Your non-sence scares me! Btw i love this song.

  • this reminds me of the mucik i used to fall asleep to as a child. fucking awesome nostalgic-value plus Metal=Metalgasm :P

  • You fell asleep to this?

Hahaha, I know I'm replying to an ancient post, but still. I fell asleep to Creedence, and I thought I was weird.

  • @BarbaricGoose I fell asleep with Amon Amarth blasting one time...given it was 1st period

  • The lead singer is Emily Rose !!LOL

  • Folkloric Death Metal! that's a new one...

  • I wold have thought "viking" metal fell under that category...

  • not really.. been around since the 1980's

  • really? its been around long enought

  • Very Good

  • Gosh, where are they from?

  • Finland.

  • like many bands of this genre are from finland, its like the metal capitol dude

  • to be fair Scandinavia is metal capitol

    Norway sweden and finland ;)

  • \m/

  • lml_{-_-}_lml

  • i love this music :o

  • Cool!

    Helena has a good voice!

  • Hyvää mättöö tämäkin ;)

  • helvetin hyvä!

  • oh hell yea this is fucking awsome i saw these guys in revolver magzine though id check them out there pretty fucking good

  • heard these guys off a cd in metal maniacs it was this song

  • kickass stuff !

  • Ah, I truly love Helenas voice <3 So beautyful.

  • oho, kerranki joku pääsee ees lähelle Moonsorrowia eeppisyydessä ;D

  • Somethin' about Moonsorrow, right?

I like them. I first heard one of their longer songs, believe it was called "Born of Ice/Stream of Shadows."

Alestorm is quite good, as well. I'd upload of one of their songs, but, unfortunately, many people have beat me to it.

  • Yeah that's right. I said that at once someone gets even close to Moonsorrows epicness. I was too lazy to write it in english :p Born of Ice/Stream of Shadows is awesome, one of their best.

Haven't heard about Alestrom. Should try them.

  • Haha Alestorm is nowhere near Moonsorrow!

However, nothing is anywhere near Moonsorrow <3

    Still, Crimfall is great.

  • AWESOME BAND

  • great song of a great band :D

long life to folk metal \../_O.o_\../

  • I shit off my pants, this is awesome :O Hail paganism!!!!!

  • they've just got themselves a new fan. best folk metal i've heard.... yeh, full stop. beats korpiklaani, finntroll, turisas. on my watch anyway.

  • I don't know.. Korpiklaani's pretty damn good. Might upload a song of theirs I'm quite fond of.

    Cheers & such!

  • I've just thought of another folk metal band i hold in same esteem as crimfall.

    eluveitie.

  • They are good, but no way they beat Turisas

  • Otyg,Wardruna,Fejd,Asmegin,Folkearth.Check those out, they are not that popular, but great folk metal.Or well, some of them aren't even metal only neofolk.

  • Try Elvenking on for size! :)

I llike Crimfall a lot too!

  • Yep. They're good.

Don't like their latest album, though. Little too emo for me. But I loved their earlier work. The Perpetual Knot is still one of my favorite songs.

  • Well i wouldnt maybe say emo :P its just about deep sorrow and death and stuff... :P

  • @BarbaricGoose I loved The Scythe. It's not what they're generally about, but it was good at any rate.

Two Tragedy Poets was excellent, but didn't seem quite as inspired as some earlier works.

  • The song is absolutly okay, but...hm...maybe its a little bit crazy...excuse my bad english

  • I hate the female vocals, but otherwise good!

  • One of the best songs I've ever heard, even 'cause the female voices, but ok, your opinion :) I like her voice

  • Im not saying her voice is bad. I just don't think it goes well with the rest of the music. It's cool you like it though. Everybody's got their own say!

  • well said

  • Comment removed

  • dann hast du leider pech ;)

  • nicht alles was aus finnland kommt ist gut .... das definitiv ist nicht mein fall

  • If at all possible, the demo version of this song is even better!

  • I've felt that way about certain songs as well.

Namely; Blank Eye Stare by Martriden. They cut out a lot of the song on the official release. Including, but not limited to, several fantastic solos.

    Quite bothersome.

  • WOOOW!!

    Very very GooD!!!
