I have been led to believe that the great Jet Harris was the first to play an electric bass live over here which created a lot of interest in the instrument.Previously the 'coffin' double bass was the order of the day.A brilliant player and a top bloke to boot I hear.
I love Shadows music, particularly when Jet was part of the setup.Following his partnership with the late great Tony Meehan,he seemed to disappear from public view. They say that you should never meet your hero but I would love to see Jet play live.Thank you so much for being in touch.
Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some trading cards of 1960's chart topping stars: Jet Harris, Elvis Presley, Adam Faith, Cliff Richard, Billy Furry, Frank Sinatra, Lonnie Donegan, and Shirley Bassey.
RIP Jet, you true legend.
I think this is one of the best tunes ever!

I've still got the 45r.p.m. of this! 'Driftin' was the 'B' side...and they were, of course, still 'The Drifters' in those days.

I have met Jet a few times and you do hear correctly a very nice modest guy. What a combination Jet and the Rapiers make. Brilliant video.
