This was the longest computer graphics shot that had ever appeared in a film, up to that time. It was also the first movie ever with a digital soundtrack. Just a couple trivia facts for you. :)
can you give me the stuff they were promoting in the very beginning of the tape i seem to remember disney promoting another movie that was live action that i felt like getting.
@videolover1999isback Well the only time I remember seeing this when I was younger was on a VHS copy of Dumbo. I believe it was the later version with darker graphics, not to mention the words "Home Video" in the Epcot font, until 1986 (I was born in 1992).
Nice find! I have never this "Neon Mickey" copy until now. It was a 1980 VHS, but there was no print dates as of yet. Around 1981 or 1982 where Disney started to used print date son their tapes. Warner Home Video didn't use print dates until 1989, but Warner uses the end label on their tapes. There was a film was released on VHS and DVD around 1999 or 2000 and it was distributed under Anchor Bay in which they acquired half of the Disney live action films on home video until 2003.
@HomeoftheGoodGuys I knew the Black Hole was released on DVD by Anchor Bay because I checked the Ancor Bay DVD out at my local library. As of the VHS, it had a collector's set, which I've seen online, and I thought the movie deserved some kind of set, since it was one of the lesser known efforts put out by Disney.
What's The Print Date On This One (Or No Printdate)? I'm Not sure If there is one. Disney Didn't Use Print Dates until 1981 or 1982. And Back when Warner Home Video was WCI Home Video They Didn't Use Print Dates But They Did use End Labels and Continued until 1989 When warner Home Video Began To Use Print Dates On Their Tapes.
@PreviewDude52797 Goodwill. It was amongst a bunch of older Disney videos, including "Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Cartoon Collections Volume 3" and "Tiger Town."
Also, RIP John Barry, the creator of the amazing music in the film.

Yes it is in the white clamshell with artwork, although its the rental copy, and there is no print date, not even a sticker indicating as such.

I gotta say, for an old rare VHS copy of The Black Hole, I wonder this one is gotta be the only VHS copy that was used for promotional use.

Let me guess, they packaged the rental inside a "For-Sale-Only" clamshell.
BTW: Is there a print date on this tape? If so, what is it?
