The stammer should not affect his singing, people who have a much worse stammer have been cured, or greatly improved, with singing therapy

dont worry about gareth. half of that stammer in the interview was put on. he is he is stammering to reduce the fear level that builds up. i am on the course and know gareth quite well.

I saw Gareth at his opening night, and his rendition of 'Cose every door' was outstnading and got huge cheers. He was fantastic as Joseph. His voice is brilliant. And I will go again to see him.

we watched gareth play joseph lastnite at the adelphi theatre,this was his dress rehersal for next week.i thought the role he played as joseph,his acting and singing were spot on,he brought the house down at the final curtain and he deserves all the plaudits he gets.

go along and see him give 110%.

In response to thedancingqueen360, it is not nexessarily stress that brings Gareth's stammer back; it is simply that the busier he is, the less time he has to practise his breathing/speaking techniques.

I'm sure Gareth will cope perfectly fine with all the pressure of interviews and talking to fans. he has only just finished pantomime; which whilst obviously not as famous as Joseph; was still 2 shows a day with all the fans and press to go with it. I don't think he should be underestimated.

uh well if you are in the show than you would know that he will start the 9th of Feb! From website: The role of 'Joseph' will now be performed by Mead's fantastic understudy, Ricky Rojas. In one month's time the hallowed dreamcoat is set to move on again, this time to Gareth Gates, who will don the famous threads from February 9.

I think that Gareth will cope just fine! Firstly because he doesn't stutter when he sings, and the entire musical is sung...no dialogue. And He has managed the stutter surprisingly well. On other recent interviews that I saw he was not even stuttering at all. And you know what, we will all help him! I am going to see him the 12th of Feb! I was very sad that Lee left, because it was a dream to see him as Joseph but I Gareth will do great! I'm sure.I will have to go and see Lee in another musical!

I have nothing against people with stutters at all and used to be a bit fan of gareth's quite a few years ago, but i just don't see how he's going to cope with all the pressure and the interviews, talking to the fans etc. He's taking on a lead role, will be in the public eye and will have loads of interviews and public appearances and I see this as being a problem.

Gareth Gates plays as Joseph. I never see him acting before. First I thought it would be a problem because he stutterts. After watching this video I think he has improved his speaking. So I can only say : GO GO GARETH!
