  • "So we can wake up in a day instead of a night" Man, that one killed me xD

Just shows how little Ray understands about the world.

  • It amazes me with all the hate against ray comfort.

  • @xchampx nobady likes liers like ray.

  • Good interview. I think Ray is deeply flawed in this thinking, but I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Benny Hinn who is an outright crook and in it for the money. I might be wrong, but i dont think Ray has his own private jet and multi million dollar mansion.

But Mr Comfort, you are still an idiot.

  • I think it's interesting how Ray abuses the word "believe". It has at least three basic meanings, but Ray transposes them to mean the same thing.

    Believe is:

    1. A statement of faith -I believe in aliens-

    2. A statement of opinion -I believe that Ford is better then Chevy-

    3. A statement of truth or honesty -I believe it's raining-

Ray likes to confuse these, as if to "believe" that it's raining is purely a statement of faith and for something to be true it must be experienced.

  • I think the polite-stance is the way to go. Ray Comfort is so immersed in his experience that there is no actual way to make any reasoned argument cohere with him (or within him for that matter).

I have to laugh though. Ray talks so sincerely about the endless variety of his street preaching. I have viewed several dozen WOM vids and they are identical!!

  • If evolution is faith and religion is faith..........i take evolution every time. Why ?

    EVIDENCE !!!!!!!!!

Raymondo is trying to say that scientists are lying to us all. We believe them on faith. BUT......The bible is a book so it must be true. Its not believed on faith because its written by a god.......probably ?????

  • Good job on your third interview. Take some of the comments to heart and improve the fourth :)

  • Don't get angry, and switch off, at Comfort's disingenuous dismissal of evolution as something believed on "faith", when it obviously has to have been demonstrated to him, innumerous times, to be anything but.

It's worth waiting for the later answer to the question: "What if it was proved beyond a doubt that the Jesus resurrection was untrue, what would you do" (I paraphrased- for better wording).

His answer to this question is the most telling thing about this worldview!

  • Ray just seems so dis-ingenuous to me when he goes on these obviously canned rants. I am not even sure if he is using his own words.

It seems like this is a good technique to keep doubts and new ideas from entering your head. Just fall back on a catechism of dogma.

  • "How are you today?"

    "Good"

No, you are not good, you are a lying, stealing adulterer at heart!

  • I fail to see the point of interviewing Comfort... but maybe thats just me.

  • Whenever I hear Ray talk I end up feeling "...like a rabbit suddenly trapped, in the blinding headlights of vacuous crap." from Tim Minchin's "Storm"

  • Ray Comfort on evolution: "Have you ever seen a dog give birth to a cat or a cat give birth to a dog? What would you call that, a dat or a cog?" lol It's funny not only because it shows a great ignorance of biology, but also because dogs were domesticated before the world even existed according to him.

  • Antybu86, you and your co-host threw to many soft balls at Ray. When he gave you his proselytizing preaching crackpot answers, you just said: "oh ok" instead of calling him out on his carp. You HAVE TO anticipate what he is going to say (he always says the same things) and prepare comebacks in advance.

Look, I know its hard. Ray has allot more experience then you. I would not have preformed better than you - he IS very good at talking.

    PS love your videos

  • Ray ... stop proselytizing.

  • he seems to be a nice person but he's a retard

  • That interview absolutely sucked. When are we gonna get a decent interview out of this guy?

  • @anarkus03 Never. A parrot trained to talk could give a better interview.

The parrot is probably more intelligent too.

  • i think its was well done. But it seems here that Comfort is convincing you. A christian could watch this and show how right Comfort is.

  • "My faith isn't intellectual." No shit?! xD

  • I found this boring. Your two are just letting Comfort rant on an preach his usual, internally inconsistent, ati-intellectual, anti-scientific BS

  • gay cumfart

  • Ray Talks like a true con man

  • he;'s a fuckwit

  • Gotta love the invisible wife analogy. "...I know her, even though you can't see her, you have never met her, I know her and I love her..."

    Schizophrenia..?

  • But I see you noticed that already. Plus, we've already heard all his typical claims by now, I think.

  • I think his idea of faith seems a little contrary to the meaning of the word pistis. Not to say you should have debated him on that point, but it's just my thoughts. Also, it seems his comments on open-air preaching contained a bit of cognitive dissonance, though I may have just misunderstood him. Idk why everyone is disliking this video simply cuz you didn't talk about evo. You never get anywhere with YECs here, so why think you'd get anywhere with one of their authorities? (cont.)

  • -gasp - Death is more serious than a heart attack? No chance!

  • 4:50 Saying that there's a difference between Roman Catholic and Christian is not only an incorrect statement but disingenuous. Christianity simply means the belief that Jesus Christ is the savior and son of god (or is god, depending on your "interpretation"). Roman Catholicism, Protestant, ect. are merely denominations of Christianity (i.e. different interpretations of their holy book - the old and new testaments).

  • @j03y2fly, yeah i thought that maybe there was a cultural difference there somehow. we all notice that Catholics all believe the same same stuff but 'Irish Catholic', 'Italian Catholic', and 'Polish Catholic' are the hardliners. i let it pass, assuming that American Catholics could be a little less intense than my mother/ grandmother given the country that they grew up in where EVERYBODY went along with the 'Irish Catholic' doctrine. If you can call bullshit, then i'm glad of the new info.

  • @fomoran Regardless those are all denominations of Christianity. Ray was implying that Roman Catholicism wasn't Christian, as many Roman Catholics make that idiotic assertion.

  • @j03y2fly, I meant that i was giving this fruitloop a possible pass (if he was called on all his crap, we'd never hear his more deeply held crazy ideas) I have never heard any Catholic deny that they are Christian but my experience is limited to europe so far. 'Catholic', as it defines itself, is the 'true church', the 'whole and universal church'. All schisms produced offshoots that can be traced back to it, why would they say that they're not Christians either in reality or in Ray's head?

  • You guys are very polite. It's nice to see you foster grounds for good discussion.

  • I have a question for Ray Comfort: Is it possible for him to stop believing in god?

If no then he is irrational because he would not accept proof and evidence even if it was overwhelming and obvious. If he says yes, then he does not really know that god exists since he believes that his belief could be wrong.

  • "it's a very strange religion" yes, very strange. nothing like a hebrew war god coming to earth as himself, allowing himself to be killed, then becoming a zombie that eventually flies up into heaven to judge us all later on, you know, "normal" religion...

  • ray comfort comes across as a nice guy.

  • @japonizieify he does come across liek that doesn't he? he's still a shameless charlatan though.

  • Pass me a Banana Ray...

  • 7 minutes... that's all I can take. My BS filters are close to shutting down my brain.

  • Thing I hate about listening to Ray is how it's like he has list of phrases he will always say. "lying, thieving, adulterer at heart" for example. He will always say it in that order. He also has such a broad definition of 'faith' that unless you personally discovered/confirmed something, you just have 'faith' in it. Then there's how he has no grasp of what the big bang or evolution are...

Not a bad interview with him, but i think he's said it all before, and didn't get called on any of it..

  • I think Ray Comfort has gotten so tedious to listen to. He says he tries to approach in different ways and on our battleground, but everytime I listen to what he says it is just so repetitive and I get so bored. Not your guys' fault, he has just become so uninteresting and all of his statements have been debunked over and over again.

  • At 6:00 I would have called him out on the fact that Jesus didn't in fact say the whole born again story because the misinterpretation of the word only works in the Greek, it doesn't work in Hebrew, so that entire conversation couldn't have happened.

I'm surprised you let stuff like that float out there unchecked.

  • @squirreljester2 Yes, I did miss that when he said it. It's a wordplay that, according to people who know Greek, only works in Greek.

  • @antybu86 Problem is not only in that wordplay, but in the fact that IF "born again" is the only way to heaven, none of the other writers of Gospels (except John) and none of the Apostles (except Peter) did not knew that, or else they would bloody mention the "only ticket to heaven". ;) Even John and Peter mention it only once and use different words (in Greek)... :D

  • @antybu86 He likes to jump around a lot too, and in/out of his sermons, even Tf00t couldn't keep the guy on topic. I would really LOVE a debate where you 2 call him out on a lot of what he says, and what he's said in the past (because you know he's just going to keep repeating it if left unchecked).

I do understand that this was an interview and not a debate, but maybe that's the next logical step.

  • @squirreljester2

"(because you know he's just going to keep repeating it if left unchecked)"

He's going to keep repeating it even if he is checked, because he has been checked on every single point that he keeps repeating.

  • @antybu86 Bro, I really like your previous videos, but I'd by lying if I said that I though this interview wasn't painful to listen to.

You allowed the Banana Man to spew his rhetoric & blantantly false assertions about evolutionary theory completely unchecked. And Ray has NO EXCUSE for his "misunderstandings" as he has been corrected time & time again, thus it can only be concluded that he is being deliberately dishonest, so you all let a lying weasel spout his lies with no objection.

  • And no one EVER called bullsit on Ray for his painfully-stupid logic about "Have you ever lied?, then your a lier, then your a sinner, then you deserve eternal torture".

I mean, "come on", how could you not call total bullshit on this kind of retarded logic?

Hope in the future you don't let theists get up on their soap box and preach any sort of rubbish they wish without calling them out on their poor logic & bald assertions. If I want to hear that, I can just turn on Sunday morning TV

  • @squirreljester2 Would it have worked in aramaic? I've hear there's a high probability that Jesus would have been speaking that.

  • @Samuria11 I'm not sure, I haven't read anything on this. Although, in all honesty, he WAS the son of god, so technically he could probably speak every language fluently.

  • @squirreljester2 I think you mean Aramaic, but you're right. It only works in Greek.

  • @squirreljester2 What do you mean when you say its different in the Greek? It's exactly what it says.

  • @squirreljester2 Could you cite a source please?

  • @d007ization Google search for "beloved spear jesus born again", this guy gives a nice breakdown, I don't have time to look up exactly where I got this, or heard it, but some more Google searches and will find the results you are asking for.

  • He's been corrected many times on all of the "proofs" that he brings up, but he still keeps spouting them. Ray Comfort is a huckster. He knows what he's saying is pure nonsense, but he keeps saying it because otherwise he'd be out of a job.

  • keeping in mind you have little experiences doing interviews......still, tough questions my ass.

  • Gee, why don't yo ask him to do a call to salvation while you're at it. You didn't challenge him once! This slimeball makes a living spewing lies and bigotry (towards all beliefs not his own) and you guys just let him run on askingsoftball, no wiffleball questions. Real nice. I like both of you but WTF?

  • Yikes - you let him get away with a clanger like the big bang is an ACTUAL explosion - rather than a rapid expansion of space time?

Also, his nonsensical talk about how he went from having faith to "knowing"? You didn't even challenge his ludicrous analogy to his wife. Well, sure we can't SEE his wife but he COULD or he could call her on the phone or show you a picture etc. I'm pretty sure you can't do that with God.

It's just a half-baked equivocation so he can take high ground over science.

  • I'm sure that Ray Comfort would agree that just as God created the banana to fit the human hand, he also designed the human penis with a convenient rim to prevent one's hand from slipping off.

  • @tenyar and as long as we are talking ease of use, the butthole is way better suited that the vagina. It's a better shape and easier to get to, isn't God's design grand.

  • @LukeOfTroy LMFAO! The only problem is that it requires more cleanup. ;-)

  • @LukeOfTroy depends on the vagina

  • Lychee's don't fit in the hand and it has prickly shell.

  • Wait wait wait... he "knows" god like he knows his wife? In the biblical sense?

  • Hey antybu. Generaly a nice interview could have been a little more probing for info in places but seeing as you said yourself you have only ever done 3 interviews a rather nice piece. Fishing during an interview is an art comes with practice.

While some might complain saying that it was somewhat lack luster i actually found this to be somewhat humanising. Puts a not so bad spin on the guy.

  • Why is everyone giving this guy a platform? Wow. Ugh.

  • Is Ray trying to reach out to atheists now? As you might know, he was on the Atheist Experience a weex ago or two.

  • He seems like such a nice and simple primate

  • I know he has a following, but is ray really that popular? Maybe atheists use him so much, because he's one of the few willing to present his arguments and have his FAIL shown in public. I personally think he's boring, but most "big" names don't have the courage of their convictions to have their beliefs challenged. They either deflect the question or play the ambiguous game.

  • Ray is such a sad little self hating man and i pity him.

  • Hmm.. I like that the discourse between atheists and theists is looking to become more civil. Even though Ray Comfort has been incredibly dishonest at times, it seems as if it is more possible to have a decent conversation now than, say, two years ago. Good job.

  • I fear that my constant face-palming a Mr. Comfort's remarks is starting to cause me to have brain damage.

  • Hi antybu, thanks for making this vid. I won't watch it though, because I have a expensive monitor and I don't want to risk looking at Rays parasitically sincere face on it. Keep up the good work, though!

  • To bad you came back when my computer's audio output is busted.

  • Good work. I hope that the polite way you conducted this opens the doors to bigger and more prominent guests.

  • Thanks for doing this but this guy is such a worthless scumbag. He's not the worst of Christianity but he's certainly down there with the scum.

  • @Otokogoroshi That means hes doing his job when seen as complete garbage in the atheist's eyes.

  • @JesusforLife2

His job is to be intellectually dishonest?

  • @AnonEyeMouse

Remember... this is the banana man, the guy who claims dogs were permitted to evolve to fit into our cars. If you're christian, fine but this guy is not one of your finest fellows.

  • Hey Ray, the boat ain't sinkin'. You're just crying wolf.

  • Ray explained that explosions create chaos, not order. So, how is the present universe not more chaotic than a singularity? (never mind the fact that it wasn't an explosion)

  • Oh god so much rage I like how ray comforts himself using his version of logic then says he doesn't need to know of god in an intellectual way

  • he miss the news that the born again conversation with jesus NEVER HAPPENED? :>

  • Nice of you guys to do, but it was unfortunately overall pretty shallow.

  • Very very lackluster interview. I think it would have been better had you stuck with a particular topic and flushed it out a bit. Maybe ask him why atheists should choose his interpretation of the bible over all the others? Ask him why interpretation is necessary at all? Just sayin.

  • @Violent2aShadow Sorry to disappoint. This is only like the third interview I've ever done, so I'm still learning.

  • @antybu86 We all start somewhere. I hope you get him again!

  • @antybu86 Don't take it too hard, man. It's fairly obvious the man likes the attention and is good at making things 'his show'. He's quite annoying, really. Even the Atheist Experience people seemed to have a little trouble controlling him. o.o

  • @antybu86

Was it your intention beforehand to stay away from the usual topics of his science denial and focus on his personal experiences or was that just the way it fell out?

If it was intended, that was quite brave well done. If it wasn't... ho hum. If you intended to grill him a touch... you really failed.

This guy is like a stripped gear, you can baby walk him through all the evidence and he'll buy it until he gets to the point where it proves his bible wrong and then... the gear spins.

  • @AnonEyeMouse Yes, it was intended. We didn't want to argue with him about evolution because it's impossible to get anywhere with him on that topic.

  • @antybu86 I must say, I would've liked to just see you ask the simple question, "What about all those people who report similar personal experiences in other religions, and claim that their experience proves the existence of Allah/Brahma/Avalokiteshvara?"

  • @antybu86 I felt this was a interview aiming at getting Ray Comforts opinions, giving us his side of the case. Perhas you will ridicule them but at the time maybe it felt to risky as you said; you're still learning. Being the type of guy who takes his time to check facts and sources I think the purpose of this video is unclear, was it just his opinions you wanted?

  • @antybu86 In my opinion you got very much info from him, its very easy to scare him off if you stick to one topic too long and go beyond his prepared basic answers

  • @Klaku1988 However Klaku if you don't push him out of his comfort zone (no pun intended) you wont get anything other than stock pre prepared junk the same narrative that he spouts on a daily basis. The trick lies in just enough pressure to break his comfort zone without scarring him off.

  • @antybu86 JFC there sure are alot of people here criticizing you in the comments!! I wonder how THEY would do interviewing Ray... being as Ray not only does this for a living but has done this shit for YEARS & is a friggin PRO at it! He uses the same arguments.. he used the exact same Titanic remarks when he was on Atheist Experience. Anyway, I think you did great for your 3rd interview & I for one appreciate your efforts & hard work. Thanks for sharing this :)

  • @antybu86 Actually, you did a good job considering what you had. I feel more satisfied with this than any actual confrontational debate I've witnessed, including the one on Atheist Experience. You got the little shit to admit what a twit he really is.

I doubt I'll ever get the chance to corner this little turd myself, so I can live with this, in leu of any great pawnage.

I LOVED the question about the"bones of Jesus" , though I might have phrased it differently and been tempted to follow it up.

  • @Tobytrim Well, thanks. We would have loved to follow it up too, but Comfort only gave us 15 minutes so we didn't really have time for digressions.

  • @antybu86 "We would have loved to follow it up too, but Comfort only gave us 15 minutes" I figured as much. Ray is very careful about allowing his reasoning and philosophy too much scrutiny and, as I said, you got the best possible result with the limitation you had. You gave Ray just enough rope, and he dangled, believe me!!

When I said I would have been tempted to follow up, I meant exactly that......Not that it would have been strategically wise.- Lol!!

  • Uggghh, sorry, switched off about nine minutes in, too much of Ray's twaddle.

  • 12:06 "i don't mind crossing swords with them"

did anyone else just have black knight from quest for the holy grail pop into their heads? :)

  • @dreadpiratedan LMAO. Absolutely! I'd cross swords with him, but I'd have to be blindfolded and have one hand tied behind my back to make it fair.

  • I started cussing at about 8:24 and had to turn it off. Maybe I'll manage to listen to it later. Don't know if I have the stomach though >_>..It's very difficult for me *left eye witching*

  • @flyingshitter "twitching"

  • Wow. I figured there'd actually be some kind of intellectual discussion here, but it was just...Ray shooting his mouth off for a quarter hour. o.o Um... Yeah... *twitch* The ignorance, it burrrrrrrrns.

  • I dont understan why you guys only just gave him a platform to preach, why didn't you ask him any actual tough questions then follow up? Was the agreement of him coming on to just let him preach then leave? This whole interview was extremely disappointing, it was as exciting as going to church.

  • I would listen to this, but I have to go to the doctor for a colonoscopy without anesthesia. (Seriously, The Atheist Experience recently did a Ray Comfort interview. That particular painful experience will do me for the next six months. o__0 )

  • I'm not sure what the point of this was.

  • Meh... I wish you had grilled him a bit.

  • im so glad you are back and ha bisky interview thx for the upload

  • I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD

  • I find it hilarious that he thinks catholicism isnt christianity, I know alot of catholics and not one of them will say they are not christian, they all say they are christian.

  • @Feralus69 Exactly! I remember my years in Catholic high school where, during the prayer segments of our morning announcements, our Chaplain would frequently say "We as Christians..." when giving spiritual perspectives to various issues in our community.

"Christian" is derived from the Greek Χριστιανός (christianos) meaning "Christ-bearing". Anyone who believes in Jesus as a saviour can be called Christian. Ray can disagree with Catholicism, but cannot logically say it isn't Christian.

  • oh wow Ray comfort on the Atheist experience and now Tuesday afternoon?
