Good interview. I think Ray is deeply flawed in this thinking, but I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Benny Hinn who is an outright crook and in it for the money. I might be wrong, but i dont think Ray has his own private jet and multi million dollar mansion.
I think the polite-stance is the way to go. Ray Comfort is so immersed in his experience that there is no actual way to make any reasoned argument cohere with him (or within him for that matter).
I have to laugh though. Ray talks so sincerely about the endless variety of his street preaching. I have viewed several dozen WOM vids and they are identical!!

It's worth waiting for the later answer to the question: "What if it was proved beyond a doubt that the Jesus resurrection was untrue, what would you do" (I paraphrased- for better wording).
His answer to this question is the most telling thing about this worldview!

Christianity simply means the belief that Jesus Christ is the savior and son of god (or is god, depending on your "interpretation"). Roman Catholicism, Protestant, ect. are merely denominations of Christianity (i.e. different interpretations of their holy book - the old and new testaments).

I have a question for Ray Comfort: Is it possible for him to stop believing in god?
If no then he is irrational because he would not accept proof and evidence even if it was overwhelming and obvious. If he says yes, then he does not really know that god exists since he believes that his belief could be wrong.

Thing I hate about listening to Ray is how it's like he has list of phrases he will always say. "lying, thieving, adulterer at heart" for example. He will always say it in that order. Then there's how he has no grasp of what the big bang or evolution are...

I think Ray Comfort has gotten so tedious to listen to. Hey antybu. Generaly a nice interview could have been a little more probing for info in places but seeing as you said yourself you have only ever done 3 interviews a rather nice piece. Fishing during an interview is an art comes with practice.
While some might complain saying that it was somewhat lack luster i actually found this to be somewhat humanising. Puts a not so bad spin on the guy.
I know he has a following, but is ray really that popular? Maybe atheists use him so much, because he's one of the few willing to present his arguments and have his FAIL shown in public. I personally think he's boring, but most "big" names don't have the courage of their convictions to have their beliefs challenged. They either deflect the question or play the ambiguous game.
Hmm.. I like that the discourse between atheists and theists is looking to become more civil. Even though Ray Comfort has been incredibly dishonest at times, it seems as if it is more possible to have a decent conversation now than, say, two years ago. Good job.

Very very lackluster interview. I think it would have been better had you stuck with a particular topic and flushed it out a bit. Maybe ask him why atheists should choose his interpretation of the bible over all the others? Ask him why interpretation is necessary at all? Just sayin.

Perhas you will ridicule them but at the time maybe it felt to risky as you said; you're still learning. Being the type of guy who takes his time to check facts and sources I think the purpose of this video is unclear, was it just his opinions you wanted?

"Christian" is derived from the Greek Χριστιανός (christianos) meaning "Christ-bearing". Anyone who believes in Jesus as a saviour can be called Christian. Ray can disagree with Catholicism, but cannot logically say it isn't Christian.

I think it's interesting how Ray abuses the word "believe". It has at least three basic meanings, but Ray transposes them to mean the same thing.
Believe is:
1. A statement of faith -I believe in aliens-
2. A statement of opinion -I believe that Ford is better then Chevy-
3. A statement of truth or honesty -I believe it's raining-
Ray likes to confuse these, as if to "believe" that it's raining is purely a statement of faith and for something to be true it must be experienced.

Also, his nonsensical talk about how he went from having faith to "knowing"? You didn't even challenge his ludicrous analogy to his wife. Well, sure we can't SEE his wife but he COULD or he could call her on the phone or show you a picture etc. I'm pretty sure you can't do that with God.
It's just a half-baked equivocation so he can take high ground over science.

Hey antybu. Generaly a nice interview could have been a little more probing for info in places but seeing as you said yourself you have only ever done 3 interviews a rather nice piece. Fishing during an interview is an art comes with practice.
While some might complain saying that it was somewhat lack luster i actually found this to be somewhat humanising. Puts a not so bad spin on the guy.

I know he has a following, but is ray really that popular? Maybe atheists use him so much, because he's one of the few willing to present his arguments and have his FAIL shown in public. I personally think he's boring, but most "big" names don't have the courage of their convictions to have their beliefs challenged. They either deflect the question or play the ambiguous game.

Hmm.. I like that the discourse between atheists and theists is looking to become more civil. Even though Ray Comfort has been incredibly dishonest at times, it seems as if it is more possible to have a decent conversation now than, say, two years ago. Good job.

Very very lackluster interview. I think it would have been better had you stuck with a particular topic and flushed it out a bit. Maybe ask him why atheists should choose his interpretation of the bible over all the others? Ask him why interpretation is necessary at all? Just sayin.

Was it your intention beforehand to stay away from the usual topics of his science denial and focus on his personal experiences or was that just the way it fell out?
If it was intended, that was quite brave well done. If it wasn't... ho hum. If you intended to grill him a touch... you really failed.
This guy is like a stripped gear, you can baby walk him through all the evidence and he'll buy it until he gets to the point where it proves his bible wrong and then... the gear spins.

Perhas you will ridicule them but at the time maybe it felt to risky as you said; you're still learning. Being the type of guy who takes his time to check facts and sources I think the purpose of this video is unclear, was it just his opinions you wanted?

@Klaku1988 However Klaku if you don't push him out of his comfort zone (no pun intended) you wont get anything other than stock pre prepared junk the same narrative that he spouts on a daily basis. The trick lies in just enough pressure to break his comfort zone without scarring him off.

I wonder how THEY would do interviewing Ray... being as Ray not only does this for a living but has done this shit for YEARS & is a friggin PRO at it! He uses the same arguments.. he used the exact same Titanic remarks when he was on Atheist Experience. I LOVED the question about the"bones of Jesus" , though I might have phrased it differently and been tempted to follow it up.

Ray is very careful about allowing his reasoning and philosophy too much scrutiny and, as I said, you got the best possible result with the limitation you had. You gave Ray just enough rope, and he dangled, believe me!!
When I said I would have been tempted to follow up, I meant exactly that......Not that it would have been strategically wise.- Lol!!

@Feralus69 Exactly! I remember my years in Catholic high school where, during the prayer segments of our morning announcements, our Chaplain would frequently say "We as Christians..." when giving spiritual perspectives to various issues in our community.
"Christian" is derived from the Greek Χριστιανός (christianos) meaning "Christ-bearing". Anyone who believes in Jesus as a saviour can be called Christian. Ray can disagree with Catholicism, but cannot logically say it isn't Christian.
