That's a stupid question. I had to laugh. Are you a Christian? Have you read the Gospels? Matt., Mark, Luke, and John? To deny that prayer heals is to deny Jesus' and his disciples' lives. Jesus' time here was worthless, then..... teaching the disciples to heal through prayer when ONLY MEDICINE cures.  The Drs. said my grandmother wasn't going to live nor have children. Well, she lived and had TWO children.

This guy is an idiot who has NO CLUE what Christian Science is. Sorry I stumbled onto this video.  All this video does is show the lack of intelligence this so called comedian has.

Anyways, a Christian "Scientist" does sound pretty stupid. I mean, you can be Christian....and a scientist. You can be a Christian who is a dentist or a doctor.

But an actual thing as a "christian science" is idiotic. It will cure nobody.

@ashfi1994 A Catholic school is not the same as a Christian Science school. Christian Science schools believe in the healing power of GOD as Jesus and his disciples did. Why were people healed through prayer in their lives? Didn't read about Jesus suggesting medical care- nor did I read that either he or the disciples suggest a kind of medical care. Yes, probably they didn't have any- so why did prayer heal them?

@ashfi1994 Take the words Christian Science- Science=knowledge. So, the knowledge of the Christ is stupid? Then Jesus' life here was worthless. Jesus and his disciples healed through prayer. Been Christian Scientist 57 years- many came into Christian Science when Doctors told them they would die- like my grandmother. Having been a Christian Science Nurse I saw prayer heal the sick! Thinking humans know more than God seems idiotic to me.

@Smithpolly Not as many as I've seen where medical help didn't work. Millions have died by wrong medical diagnosis but that is fine. The operation was a success but the patient died. I've heard and seen that enough.

PS: I think it is wonderful to have a good laugh, even when the butt of the joke is some revered religion. God might have made different religions and races so we could all laugh at each other. My wife and I have many giggles over what we've experienced in the Christian Science church (... while still holding respect for the principles and the individuals). One of our favorite topics is some CS's attitudes to sex. "Sex should only happen if you want children" Feck off !!

I was raised in Christian Science, and to this day I firmly believe that Mary Baker Eddy was definitely 'on to something'. I believe that the application of CS teachings has been a big factor in some miraculous healings and events. However I am not a fan of the organized church part of the religion, and I have a feeling Mrs Eddy wasn't either. And it is sad when people blindly adhere to the perceived principles of the religion without actually 'feeling' them. That is when healing can fail.

In Christian Science they teach that u don't want a doctor attending you because when you see this, it makes you fearful & reinforces the idea that you are physical, mortal & wounded in some way. So why would Christian Science have nurses? Wouldn't the sight of them just reinforce one's mortality as well? By CS reasoning, why sure it would! CS is illogical & unscientific. This is just 1 example of the contradictory aspects of Eddy-Science; I mean Christian Science.

Every video that pro-Christian Scientists have posted either disable the comment function or eventually ban comments that express intelligent well-researched critique of CS and our heart-felt disillusionment over its founder MBE, her teachings & the devastating effects we have experienced from relying on it's principles. The whole censorship that we lived with as CSers is just plain awful! And they can't see it!

I try to apply Christian Science and have experienced healings. This hasnt stopped me qualifying as a first aider with St John Ambulance so Im proof there doesnt have to be a clash. There's no ban on going to a doctor in CS - but the premise is so different that CS treatment can't generally be given in parallel. If I was diagnosed with something doctors said was incurable, I would turn to CS. Thousands have been healed - so CS must have got something right about ultimate spiritual reality

what about the thousands that died because they didnt get medical attention because they were christian scientist. They are sued all the time for wrongful death. and why do they continue to keep going on as if everything was alright, Christian Science is a fraud

@alphabitten Good question alphabitten! One of the big problems with CS is the hypnotic power of it's founder's writing. To be brief about it, the writings manipulate and control people by something like hypnosis. Of course CSers laugh at this accusation, but it is not a laughing matter. Another big problem with CS is they are totally frightened by the medical community as well as they are totally convinced that they will not evolve spiritually or mentally if they leave CS teachings. @rns12 Christian Scientists do not recognize the body as physical, therefore they are not equipped to take care of a sick person, nor a well person.The horror of Christian Science is not just that a death has occurred, but also, HOW the death occurred. CSists dont believe in painkillers, so folks who die under CS care often die in excrusiating pain & suffering. That is abomnitable & inexcusable, despite being illegal, btw. Eddy said watching a person get worse was seeing error destroyed-sadistic

A message from another former CS. I had friends that were seen by CS nurses. Unfortunately, they cannot laugh at these jokes. They are dead now, they died in their 30's.  How very sad this religion is.
