In the 80's, you knew that you had just watched one of the great cartoons of the era whenever the R-S logo showed up. It's sad that their Superman cartoon only had a 13-episode run. It was one of my absolute favorites, to the point where I bought the DVD when it came out. That cartoon should have had at least 22 episodes (which is, these days, a standard-issue season for a weekly show) or more.

Ruby-Spears and Hanna-Barbera actually had close ties. in fact, Ruby-Spears' co-founders, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, once worked for Hanna-Barbera as writers (they helped create the original Scooby-Doo).

@cybertronization - Thundarr was a little before my time (I was born in late 1982). I never even saw this, I was into He-Man as a kid and that's what I watched. However, what I have seen on Boomerang, it feelsl ike a rp-off. A cross-over would have been interesting, but Thundarr and He-Man looked a little too much alike!!!!
