My cat does that but she only does that to get drinks like milk. She learned it from her kitten, pebbles.Pebbles wanted some milk, so she stuck her whole head in the cup, and it wouldn't come out until pebbles shook her head! ROFL
My cat does something like that, except when she takes the food out of the dish, she starts smacking it around and "hunts" it, pounces, then eats it. Your kitty is so precious ^_^!
I have a cat that did something similar... only he did it with water. He would put his paw in the water dish just slightly and lick the water off his paw.
I say, blimey, a truly civilized feline. Capital, capital!

She does it by herself. She eats the normal way too. But we see her doing this quite a bit.
