Just had both replaced on my '99 GS for $350 including labor and material. (They charged me $160 for material.) Got rid of the horrible noise I was experiencing when turning and driving a low speed. A bit on the pricey side or is that fair? Thanks.
does the ride really get that much better when balljoints are replaced? Someone told me I haven't enjoyed the smoothness of my car because i haven't had that done yet
depending on what all your symptoms are for a potentially-better ride, it could be a number of things in the front end. These cars will last forever as long as the preventive maintenance is done, as rubber bushings and ball joints do deteriorate and break down over time.
having problems with my 2003 corolla. Replaced control arm comes with new bushings. Hit a bump today and the unnew feel came back on highway doing 65. 115k gonna check my ball joints

Very important issue for those particular year gs- make sure to check balljoints guys...I have seen some crazy stuff

If that is just the balljoints, that IS pretty steep.
It's a DIY job if you are handy with tools, and the parts are about $60 a side.
Are they doing ANYTHING else?

Also it should only take 20-40 mins a side with the right tools.

like the tail lights and other minor redesigns, 2001-2005 have the redesigned ball joints.
