Down pillows: The problem with down feathers is that they come from the meat industry. The feathers get sold off once they're pulled from the birds (feather's don't come from nowhere), and the meat industry is the most anti-green industry out there. Not a good piece of advice.

those compact fluorescent lightbulbs arn't very "green" if you break them...they're filled with mercury.

the mercury is in gas form though, so if you break them in a room, as long as the fumes are cleared you're fine. They do have other chemicals in them though, ones you wouldn't want hanging around in your bin
