  • i have to this for my dance class..... looks hard nervous!

  • Is there somewhere where this whole routine is available its incredible and one of my favourites

    ?

  • @kennylbudd It's not a routine, it's improv. There are only about 12 seconds left, and it was cut short to encourage people to visit our website to view more videos. I do not have the full clip, but you are not missing much so just enjoy and check out our other videos.

  • @TessaCunningham OMG...this is improv??? Wow! You and Myles have always impressed me, but now all the more so.

  • @TessaCunningham Thankyou Tessa, the website looks great. Unfortunately there is no-one local to me that teaches west-coast swing and I dont learn the basics so well from Videos, still lovely to watch though.

  • They're so good together I think they're in love and fantastic! If they're not in love then they're just fantastic!

  • this is better than sex

  • i wish there was a full version of this... i keep replaying it and it keeps stopping so soon t_t

  • just a beautiful combo.

  • LOOOVVEEE IT!!!!

  • Great dancing, loved it.

Not to pick on these guys in particular, but why do even the best leads in WCS let their idle hands dangle like dead fish?

  • @qonf WCS is a casual, urban dance, not a precise, presented ballroom dance. Therefore the arms follow the natural flow of the body and the emphasis is more on the core flight and leg/footwork.

  • @qonf I usually see leads move that arm during faster songs that have more going on in them. This song is full with musicality so Myles doesn't really need to bust his ass to look like he's with the music. Moreover, moving that hand complicates his frame (depending on what he's doing).

  • @qonf Actually what he's doing looks very natural. You want a really dead fish look... go look at a beginner that doesn't know what to do with his other hand. =D

  • Only one reason to dislike this clip: it's too short!

  • what is the name of that song could some one tell love it and the dancing on man have to sing up for lessons

  • 38 dislikes? r u kidding me? fuck those 38 braindeads

  • Wow, these two are amazing. We are gonna start now, so thank you and.... what is the song?! Lovin it :)

  • this is oddly hypnotic, i have never seen this type of dance before and ... are they actually touching the ground, more like floating or gliding... wow.. just wow!

  • Whenever someone asks me what west coast swing is, I always reference them to this video. There's something hypnotic about the way you guys dance. The connection you two have is extraordinary and you make the dance seem effortless.

  • wow this is so inspiring!

  • charming is the word

  • i watch this clip almost every day..just puts a smile on my face :) 10x

  • @KonfusedMind so agree with u:)

  • Comment removed

  • So charming. I've seen other vids from this pair and others, but this is by far the best. I think if aliens were to visit planet Earth one day and get to know human civilization, after having seen everything they would probably be most amazed by this video. That human beings can produce music and move to it with their loved ones like here. They would probably analyze until the end of the world why it is so magical if after all it is only rhythmic motion hands held together.

  • 37 people must of thought - now dis i like

  • Absolutely love watching this. The UK needs more male leads to get interested in this kind of dancing otherwise it will never take off over here. Im in awe at the ease with which they move......................very inspiring!

  • I'd love to see the full version of this routine. It's mesmerising to watch the two of you dance. Love the track by Josh Rouse.

  • oh now, get it!

  • I wish this clip wasn't cut off so early. They were on a righteous roll.

  • I would like to see more of you:) You dance great!!

  • Last night I went to Lewis and Company, a swing dance studio. It was my first time ever, and I had a lot of fun. Before the floor opened, we were taught East Coast swing. When some of the regular swingers came in, one hot guy tried to do West Coast with me to the song "Echo". It was truely amazing, and he made my night! (:

  • Sweet!

  • Smoooooth:)

  • I still like this clip!

    is super good! :D

  • This girl is hot. I would tell anyone girl who wants to learn how to dance to watch this girl. Not just her steps or any one thing. Everything.

  • Watching you dance is addictive. Smooth and fluid. Beautiful.

  • There is a LOT of west coast swing on the Internet that is wrong or just bad, so it's good to see an inspiring vid!

  • Super SLICK dancing! I can't stop watching this vid.

  • they are amazing!! I would love to dance like that!

  • chuck norris?

  • madonnina che fico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • toll :D

  • nice dancing. the music makes me want to blow my brains out, but the dancing is nice.

  • This is the sexiest dance I've ever seen. Love you guys!

  • DANG that was pretty slick

  • showing this video to people is easily the best way to get someone interested in west coast swing. thank heavens it comes up first when you search for "west coast swing" here on YouTube. Tessa and Myles, we love it. please don't ever stop dancing

  • This video was a big influence in getting me into WCS 4 years ago. I still love to watch it.

Tessa I haven't had a chance to dance with you yet. Are you going to be in Phoenix for 4th July? or at Desert City Swing? I'd love a dance. I'll come find you. Take care.

  • Always wondered what WCS dancers would do with a traditional swing tune from the '30s; something like "King Porter Stomp", etc. Given Tessa's talent, that would be spectacular.

  • Male, 45. I started with jitterbug 2 years ago, then took on West Coast Swing as I find the dance hypnotically beautiful.

Like most, I find Myles and Tessa amazing.

It's a difficult dance but rewarding. A willing partner and some free time is all one needs.

I come back to this video in particular when I feel blue. There's something about it.

  • Fascinating. The clothes are distracting, but the style-- shifting into new directions, with the dancers reading each other and snapping right into the beat again-- is really well done.

  • omg, i can't get enough of this video... fantastic!! I think lindy hop is going to have to take a back seat, 'cause now i'm going for learning west coast swing :P

  • Who is the artist of this music, and what is its title? Thanks, and yes, I love the connection shown by these two. :D

  • My sister taught me this dance... It is so fun!

  • Thank God, I can finally see the whole thing! Yes, this performance is inspirational!

  • I love that song!!! :D

  • Great!!! I keep watching over and over again.

What's the name of this song?

  • Great dancing, I have been Rock "N" roll dancing since the fifties but as I approach my seventies I have embraced WCswing as it slower pace has allowed me to keep on keeping on

  • i'm glad the music is back on. i guess BMG or the others are sick of receiving hate mail

  • these dancers came to my school this morning and i am sooo influenced by them! i think just by talking to me for an hour today they've changed my whole life!

  • The moves on that woman, I could almost cry she moves so awesome ... I can watch her dance all day. Reminds me of a girl I know ... I love watching her dance also ..

  • This video NEVER gets old. I can't even count how many times I've watched it. It's magic expressed through physical means. Absolutely incredible. Thanks!

  • wow i just watched their choreographed video and i love this way more! i cant believe they flow so naturally and beautifully. i wish i had that kind of skill

  • still the best video

  • Torride...magnifique.....

  • Great Dancing

  • Oh my god... How do you learn this?!

  • La meilleure danse que j'ai jamais vu !

    C'est vraiment sublime !

  • I love this dance so much. It reflects to me what dance should be. Having fun and connecting with your partner in the harmony that they have.

  • Congrats Myles and Tessa for reaching 500k viewers! I know dancing is always evolving, but I wish sometimes it didn't. This is the best. Kia ora from New Zealand.

  • haha cool

  • They both have a uncanny knack of feeding off each other. It only takes a subtle head, hand or leg movement and Tessa immediately picks up on it and reacts/follows through. Interesting to note that their most-viewed video is an improv, instead of the choregraphed competition type of dance. This is MUCH more natural and flowing. It takes a special chemistry and/or many hours together to make it look as effortless as Myles and Tessa. Keep up the good work of inspiring others to "have a good time".

  • It is "come back" by Josh Rouse. This is very beautiful dance!

  • Beautiful moves, i want to move this! :)

Do any of you know the track's name?

  • These 2 are amazing, and not just in this video. I'm feeling inspired!

  • Wow ! Amazing !! I'd like to dance like this !

And the song is a very good choice ! What's the name of this song ?

  • Hey there...I just took your Down & Dirty class at Summer Hummer...it was a great time, and I love watching you and Myles dance together!

    Thank you! :D

  • WOW THAT IS HOT. I used to do this... *like Rocky* "I cudda been a contendah..."

  • I love the illusion they create. They're like two magnets that break apart and then they slide back and snap together. Really cool.

  • Impossible to take your eyes off Myles. Beautiful. Like all great dancers, makes it look simple, smooth and easy. A great team. Wish there was more of this. Thanks for posting.

  • Ok that's it i'm signing up for west coast dance classes it just seems way too cool it gives me such a earge to dance....thanks for uploading the video........

  • you go for it dude. Don't let anyone stop you ^.^

  • Soooooo kewl! Wish I could see the whole thing!

  • Myles move rocks 0:55 :D

  • I really want to see the rest of this video. Anyone know where I can see it?

  • Yeah, this video needed to be longer. Great dancers!

  • Still the best wcs video I've seen; I wish it wasn't cut sort.

  • Funny, I had a dream I danced this way... now I know I was dreaming.

  • I would love to dance like this, any girl that want's to also i need a partner...

  • yah, it's really fun i also need a dance partner.

  • You people are awesome... truly talented dancers. Keep it up, looking fwd to seeing more vids here

  • These guys rock! Great technique and they're having fun!

  • j'adore , quelle osmose avec la musique

  • j'adore l'osmose avec la musique . c'est du bonheur.

  • Back on top again I see. A little audio does a body good.

Btw, it was pretty silly for them request to have the audio removed. Publishers spend a lot of time and money producing quality content for their content marketing campaigns. Trying to get the word out about their product (or service). And here you are giving them free content. Tessa, record companies should be paying *you* a penny a dance.

  • funny... I had a dream I could dance like that!

  • funny, I dance this way to blues music. Now I know what it really is!

  • I doubt you dance exactly this way. This one video is the best West Coast Swing I have EVER seen! I wish they could do more stuff like this. It is THE video that pops up when you do a video search on "west coast swing" and rightfully so.

  • You two are amazing.

    Keep it coming!

  • ~~ Just fab! come to London UK ;o)

  • Really glad to see them put the audio back on this video!

  • really good moves. i've seen people perform the wcs in person and i haven't been impressed but this was very good.

  • myles is my hero and tessa is a hottie

  • the song is by Josh Rouse - Come Back :) u`r amazing dancers :)

  • amazing! i've been doing west coast for two years, and i really enjoy it. the connection between you is unbreakable!

btw, what is the name of this song?

  • What are they dancing too? it's so hypnotic to dance to.

  • i am doing this @ school.

    cool

  • cool......

  • Like this, wasnt searching for it but really enjoyed it.

  • I have to relate this:

My wife found this video and soon my parents, siblings and I had all seen it; watched it over and over again in fact. We couldn't get enough. The connection we saw (imagined?) was nigh hypnotic... to the point where my wife became determined that Myles and Tessa were "together". Then, in other videos, whenever Tessa would dance provocatively with anyone else, she would invent elaborate storylines to explain this and comfort herself.

    Hope all's well-for my wife's sake. =)

  • LOL! Thanks for your comments and you can assure your wife that we indeed are together - 6 years now. The provocative dancing you see in other clips is only for show - getting into the character of the music, you know?

  • =)

Thanks Tessa, seeing that made Erin's day. For Christmas, she got me the "basics" instructional DVD from your site with you and Myles, and we're learning together.

(Hope I don't embarrass you by plugging your videos)

  • @TessaCunningham Hi Tessa, please keep this beauty going on! A very warm and great example.

  • Wow. That's awesome.

  • wow, so floating, they are really "feeling" the floor, lovely to watch, my compliments!

  • Hypnotizing.

  • really i wanna see the whole dance for this song.. i just love LOVE the vibe and feel you have going with one another! you make me just need to dance NOW!!!

  • do you ahave the rest of this you can post or tell me where their are more videos of them dancing wow that was great for improve... they are smoooooooth...

  • There's a couple things I just realized in this video. Myles is a wonderful dancer, but he's also a quiet dancer...He's dancing, not just standing and leading, but it's subtle. What's NOT subtle is his focus on his partner, and because he's watching her so intently, the viewer (at least me) watches her too. It's an interesting visual cue: He directs our attention to her. If he looked at the camera or audience, he'd draw focus, but as it is his focus amplifies our attention on her dancing.

  • its because of you two dancing so beautifully that made me take up dancing... thanks a lot for inspiration. i start my first lesson today!

  • wow! west coast swing! omg! i'm in wisconsin.. love to swing dance!! thats is very sexy though! i'm down!

  • I love that ! This is so smooth, it seems like they're flying over the floor. Really great...

  • You two are hott together!! I just started getting WCS lessons with a friend and we are having a great time learning it, you guys are a huge inspiration...thanks for sharing. Can you tell me who the music in this video is by, sounds like a great song to dance to.

  • omg its like air dancing

  • Thats really cool!

  • Que lindo!

Deu uma vontade de aprender a dançar essa dança!

Pena que aqui no meu país não tem aulas.

    Parabéns, vocês são lindos dançando!

Que a arte esteja presente em suas vidas repleta de criatividades!

    Paz!

  • Incidentally, for all you budding dancers, Tessa Cunningham didn't start dancing till she was out of college, and then it was Salsa - not Swing.

  • Actually, I just did a year of general Ballroom/Latin, not just Salsa. But good point nonetheless.

  • That is so encouraging! I hadn't done any partner dancing until college (last year). Now I LOVE all kinds of swing dancing and I LOVE watching your videos! Which other type of dancing do you think helped you the most with west coast swing?

  • For Myles, his 20 years of training in all forms of solo and partner dancing, and Martial Arts.

For me, Hip Hop. But other factors besides dance influenced my West Coast Swing: sports, music training, kinesiology degree.

  • West Coast Swing and Ceroc share much the same moves - where they are different is in the timing, which in Ceroc is single beat and in WCS is 6 and 8 beat.

I do WCS, Lindy and Ceroc, and when I do Ceroc I find myself trying to do it in a 6 or 8 beat frame as you do Swing.

Ceroc takes its timing from Salsa and its movements from Swing. Start doing it in a 6 and 8 beat frame and you are doing East Coast Swing.

  • He looks like he's a great dance lead, and they're so in sync!

  • great dance & dancers really cool & orginal moves (ten).

  • Czerniakowska. You are talking out of your ass! Obviously you are totally ignorant with little or no knowledge of Westie or Modern Jive and I'd bet you can dance nither of the two!! There is a huge difference between the two and they will never merge. Bloody idiot!

  • where can i find a video of them finishing this song. it cuts out so soon... i need more.. more..

  • I love the way you guys dance. It just flows... AWESOME.

  • that was smokin hot.

  • Good stuff. WCS and Ceroc (which has swept Europe and Australasia) have so much in common that I can imagine their eventually merging into a single entity ("Ceroc Swing"?). I dance Ceroc and there certainly isn't anything from this clip that I couldn't incorporate into my routines, though of course without anything approaching the fluency and skill exhibited by these two.

  • A first glance they look similar, most of the moves in Ceroc are taken from Swing - but the timing is completely different.

A lot of Ceroc dancers (even very good ones) are completely oblivious to the timing and phrasing of piece of music.

What makes WCS much more difficult is that it works to 6 or 8 forwards backwards pulse which must keep in time with the music.

Try counting the the beats between the move changes - you'll find they 6 or 8 beats

  • cest fou tout ce que l'on peut faire avec la danse

  • Amazing I love it. The guy is really talented at leading, and the girl has some skill to be able to tell what he is wanting to do next. I wish I could dance like that. Just Amazing.

  • LMAOOOOOO HEYYY its Tiffaney(azn, purple streaks)from hillcrest^^ your amazingg!!

  • wow .......veeeeeeeeeeery nice...........you 2 feed off each other.....and thats n amazin feelin

  • wow...girl got some kickass curve

  • Hi Tessa and Myles

Do you think to do it again and camera for us who love you so much. You and Myles inspire the love of west coast swing dance in me. Really love you guys. Hope I can learn this. Awesome!

  • Awesome!

I watch this clip many times

Can anybody post the rest of it?

  • wow! thats all i have to say.. you guys are awsome!!

  • I have watched this 20 times. It just gets better each time.

The way you guys hit this music is truly inspiring.

  • Wow! The two of you are just awesome!! You move together beautiful. My partner and I will have to incorporate some of those moves into our routine! This vid is just WAY too short. I'd love to see the rest of that dance!

  • richard berquist .... where's the rest!! ... that music, your movement, your connection ... that's got to be the most sensual thing I've seen on the planet! ... just too real! Why is'nt there more? How can I hire you to perform?

  • this is so much sexier than the swing we do here. Very jealous.

  • Wow x 10. Saw this clip just before Christmas, tracked down a UK group that does lessons but none were local, got in touch, and now they're starting some classes near where I live! So roll on 12th Feb when they start :D This clip continues to be my inspiration, its just fantastic. Not sure how anyone could watch it and *not* want to be able to dance like this!!

  • where sis you find lessons? it's possible that I shall be moving over there in september and want to continue dancing.

  • Comment removed

  • TOC means Teacher-On-Call, like Substitute Teacher.
