people always told me to stop looking angry or depressed when i was feeling fine, until i started to ignore those who can't seperate a momentary from a permanent facial expression (at least at second glance).
I always get that too...I mean, exactly that. People look at my face and think that I'm angry or depressed when I'm not. I'm also told that I have a mean way of talking...I mean, not like I'm saying mean shit, but my voice sounds confrontational, I guess. My wife is always having to remind me to make a conscious effort to look happy and talk nice. :op
i'm not so sure anymore if the capo was on 4th fret, i checked ane's video (/watch?v=s8SsB4dNF_U) and she has it on 5th... you'll have to look at her yourself, since i'm almost completely unable to name any chords. i think the second chord must be a C though.
well i... naturally happen to stumble upon unplanned bits i like every now and then. but lack of experience (it's not a year yet) makes me really cautious about messing it up by trying too hard (if you know what i mean).
i certainly hope to find that ability, or rather have it finding me :)
I know what you mean; there are many pieces of music i have yet to map out and make complete songs, many times it will be slightly different every time i play them, lol. Yeah dont stress yourself over it, the trick(at least for me) is to find the most comforable but efficient way of decoding and transitioning those complex musical patterns in your head out onto the guitar with your sense of hearing and touch.Inexperience doesnt matter that much since the music flows from within. Cheers!
i doubt i have those patterns, at least in my head... for me, playing is all about NOT using my head. i'd prefer having my sense of hearing and touch do the job on their own :)
well those senses are still analyzed and processed in the head :) lol; but i see what your saying. Going out to some forest or some area where there is not much humans and their loud technologies around seems to help a lot too. You'll hear the birds sing along and feel the wind pick up at all the right moments it seems, LOL.
dang, yeah i'm sure theres some nice spots around where no one goes and are uncontaminated with chemicals and stuff, always is, heh. You'll be suprized what you can find if you just look. Be careful though.
Very soulful, thank you. I'm always impressed by someone who plays an instrument at the same time as singing. Of course it would be impossible to sing while playing the flute/harmoniker/trumpet!! I like your sound very much. It made me think about the emotional part of the human brain and see it as either a conduit between repitilain and cognative brains or else an important part in itself. This is in reference to videos I've seen lately on Youtube about this 3 brain division within each of us.
i just watched 2bsirius on the subject, very interesting indeed... i was always wondering how art is so appealing and repulsive at the same time. being a link from the reptilian to the cognitive brain could explain how our society desperately misses peace, since art has been separated from our actual experience (not being allowed to be artists ourselves)...
Yes, it was 2b I saw on video too. She explained it so clearly. I'd heard about it before but she put it all together so succinctly. It just had me wondering when I heard your music and felt at peace, how others might hear it and not be at peace. I wondered why your music and singing had that affect on me but would not on others. But then surely everyone has to appreciate your sound? I got to think on how a really nasty acting person might just totally be unable to get away from his thinking.
the amazing thing is, that this peace is not at all purely about pleasure, as we are taught. it's much more about the honest expression of EVERY kind of emotion you have, without any expectation of reward from the recipient. that's why the industrialisation of art makes absolutely no sense to me. now i could go on like this for hours :)
thanks for pointing me in the direction of these considerations!
Nekter å tro du er fra Kyrgyzstan. Fin cover, men du burde enten endre plasseringen av kameraet eller få deg en mikrofon siden vi hører heller lite av stemmen din (som forøvrig minner meg skummelt om Zetlitz av og til)
eh, i've actually been to norway few times, coming back more grounded in nature than ever before each time, but i never learned the language.
i can only say thank you, no i'm not really kyrgyzstani, just dream of it, and that i sure will buy cam+mic, just have no clue when. the rest i do't get, sorry... thanks for commenting :)
Haha, I was certain you were Norwegian with the Ane Brun singing and all, so sorry :P
I said what you translated and that your voice reminds me a lot of Bertine Zetlitz' (also a Norwegian artist, look her up if haven't heard of her) especially at some places in this video.
I have to admit that I hadn't heard the original before - I'll have to go Google Ane Brun now! :)
Your cover is great, you have a lovely mellow voice. And I liked that you play on a nylon string guitar, which is what I prefer to play most of the time.
you do? i got this one through bare luck, it's an almost brand new Hohner. somehow i never felt the urge for a *more professional* one desperately enough, i guess i don't feel it fits with my skills. but i admire the clear sound of a westernguitar :)
Ane's Myspace-page is quite up to date, she'll have a new album out in some months and a tour starting (can't wait to hear her live! maybe someone will record some live material to study... :))
i can remember the first time i heard ane brun, it was a live show that's on fabchanneldotcom, ever seen it? it BLEW me away and it still blows my mind every time i hear her play and sing.. am i the only one crying to her music? eeks
i think so too, and i'm actually practicing all the time, but it's just still hard to reach the point where i'm not bursting out in anger every few seconds :)
wow your talented
why does inmendham feature you...just curious

no need to be marketable imo...

around here, when people say "make something of yourself" it means "do something that pays well"
i prefer landscaping, working with my hands, and being outdoors.

same here, of course. i think you can do anything, even marketable stuff, as long as you do it for free :)
(yes, i'm being idealistic)
