I'll never forget Runescape. When I was in Elementary I would space out and stare at the ceiling, imagining my RS player crashing through and rescuing me from torturous school, taking me into the wonderful virtual world of Runescape. I've often thought back on those memories and the things I did. One day I went to search RS, found crap, and almost cried. I'm glad I'm not alone the many who miss it. Today someone was whistling a familiar tune. It was Autumn Voyage from this game. THANK YOU!

The game is still fine, it was never "OMG ruined" like many people say it (The economy is another story), just the community is now filled with egoistic, prideful kids and morons and any kind of social interaction is like sticking your head in a trash can. I found the game when I played some shitty miniclip game that I liked called Leo steel which is a bit like temple run on smart phones. I typed up run escape because i couldn't remember the name. Best mistake of my life.
The saddest part is they cant change it back... because all of the people addicted to new runescape. They made it so they cant change it back no matter if they want to of not. They made a terrible mistake!!!! they lost over half of their players; probably more then that. I bet almost all of the old people quit. They were replaced with all these new kids. It went from over 200,000 people playing, it's down to less than 95,000... It's pretty cruel. R.I.P Runescape... *sniff*

i started runescape in early 2007. At first I didn't enjoy playing because I was very poor, didn't have good armor or good stats, and I kept dying. I never made more than 10k prior to the grand exchange =(.
Near the end of 2007, I got into pking and going to wars in the wilderness. Before the wilderness was removed, there used to be players standing outside Varrock trying to recruit other people to go to wars. when we got enough people, we would fight another clan at the castle in deep wildy

The first time I went into the wilderness (2006), I froze in the middle of a fight. So after I restarted, I found out that I lost all of my stuff that I carried in, which was a lot. So, the guy realized that I froze (because I stopped attacking), and he teleports back to lumbridge, searches for me, and gives me everything I lost.
You don't find such nice people in RuneScape anymore. Now people are greedy scumsuckers.
I once died by a guard at varrock castle and lost my iron chain, anti fire shield and a brass necklace I ran back and someone gave me everything back. It was a good day.

RS2006.net is going to be a remake of the original RuneScape back in 2006 when it was at it's peak in game play, amount of players, customer service, when they actually cared about what their customers wanted. In my opinion, RuneScape has become a world of chaos. Now things are more about who is a hacker/botter and who is a legit player. Just yesterday i was playing the conquest minigame at void knight outpost and some guy tried to accuse me of hacking just because i was winning. I just decided to ignore and blacklist him. Ive been playing the game for 8-9 years and im not letting anyone ban me for something i didnt do.

I don't give a shit what people say about RuneScape and I'm not afraid to say it was a HUGE part of my childhood. People could say I wasted countless hours and days on this game. I say otherwise because I made SO many new friends and the memories are with me till the day I die. I will never forget this game and the impact it had on my life.
I enjoy playing the new Runescape (except dungeoneering, fuck that "skill" I'm still lvl 1) but I am truly grateful that I started playing in 2005 and played through its glory days everyday in 2006! :D
Jagex made a big mistake when they added dungeoneering. At least we got the wildy and free trade back.

I wondered what it was so I went home and spent hours trying to find it. It turned out I missheard them and thought they said Roomskate. Lol and when I did find it I thought the gameplay would be like WoW so I started talking at the computer screen expecting my friends to hear me Lol xD
I urge you all not to go on these RS2006 and 7 things. They are not only partially illegal, but loaded with bugs and innaccuracy, and plus they are not the true runescape!

@TheBambiniGiant It's not illegal, they coded everything from scratch, Near Reality or any other private server makes you pay for membership (which is very illegal) and copies code from runescape illegally, RS2006 it's the closest remake ever, and they have a tos (which means JaGeX can't shut them down).

The terms of agreement are flawed, fully improper use of Jagex property, weather coded from scratch or not, and they say it's for "learning purposes", to try and scare off jagex. Yes, IT IS illegal in several different copyright aspects, and Jagex will get to them in time. I feel sorry for you supporting it...

If rs2006 became too popular, the shareholders would eventually step in and offer assistance to make sure they ain't loosing (if it got very bad that is). It would be nonsensical not to do so. The donations barely play any role in the matter, since what they are doing, regardless of profit is breaching copyright. Jagex won't care about time constraints.

A few came back after the bot nuke and return of free trade/wild, but they immediately saw that the game was still not what it once was. Take a look at Jagex's yearly profit portfolio - they made less profit last year than any previous year since the company's creation. That was BEFORE the bot nuke, too, which inevitably lost them more money. And yes - it does matter. Jagex isn't going to sue if it'll lose them money.

i started runescape in early 2007. At first I didn't enjoy playing because I was very poor, didn't have good armor or good stats, and I kept dying. I never made more than 10k prior to the grand exchange =(.
Near the end of 2007, I got into pking and going to wars in the wilderness. Before the wilderness was removed, there used to be players standing outside Varrock trying to recruit other people to go to wars. when we got enough people, we would fight another clan at the castle in deep wildy

The first time I went into the wilderness (2006), I froze in the middle of a fight. So after I restarted, I found out that I lost all of my stuff that I carried in, which was a lot. So, the guy realized that I froze (because I stopped attacking), and he teleports back to lumbridge, searches for me, and gives me everything I lost.
You don't find such nice people in RuneScape anymore. Now people are greedy scumsuckers.

RS2006.net is going to be a remake of the original RuneScape back in 2006 when it was at it's peak in game play, amount of players, customer service, when they actually cared about what their customers wanted. In my opinion, RuneScape has become a world of chaos. Now things are more about who is a hacker/botter and who is a legit player. Just yesterday i was playing the conquest minigame at void knight outpost and some guy tried to accuse me of hacking just because i was winning. I just decided to ignore and blacklist him. Ive been playing the game for 8-9 years and im not letting anyone ban me for something i didnt do.

I had a good friend on runescape long ago. We were both noobs.
We would come up with get rich quick schemes. It was a fun time.
He became a member and i saw less of him. He leveled up his combat much higher than mine, he got admin armor i was amazed.
We agreed to get to 99 wc.
He got on less and less as the days went on
I'm currently 91 wc, and i'll never get 99 as long as he isn't there.
It just wouldn't be right.

I don't give a shit what people say about RuneScape and I'm not afraid to say it was a HUGE part of my childhood. People could say I wasted countless hours and days on this game. I say otherwise because I made SO many new friends and the memories are with me till the day I die. I will never forget this game and the impact it had on my life.

I enjoy playing the new Runescape (except dungeoneering, fuck that "skill" I'm still lvl 1) but I am truly grateful that I started playing in 2005 and played through its glory days everyday in 2006! :D
Jagex made a big mistake when they added dungeoneering. At least we got the wildy and free trade back.

@TheBambiniGiant It's not illegal, they coded everything from scratch, Near Reality or any other private server makes you pay for membership (which is very illegal) and copies code from runescape illegally, RS2006 it's the closest remake ever, and they have a tos (which means JaGeX can't shut them down).

The terms of agreement are flawed, fully improper use of Jagex property, weather coded from scratch or not, and they say it's for "learning purposes", to try and scare off jagex. Yes, IT IS illegal in several different copyright aspects, and Jagex will get to them in time. I feel sorry for you supporting it...

For your information, the people who are making RS2006 are American, which completely complicates any form of lawsuit. Furthermore, Jagex has only ever closed one private server (frugooscape) because they actually changed the game drastically from Runescape. Plus, I assure you, Jagex has enough to worry about with bot devs threatening to return to the game, so RSPSs aren't priority level 1.

A company in America owns 55% of Jagex's shares. They have no control over the actual company, as Jagex has stated. This company in NYC wouldn't care about RS2006, either, nor would it be profitable for them to sue them. Donations are related to the issue, because they have no definite income, and an American lawsuit takes about 3 years.

If rs2006 became too popular, the shareholders would eventually step in and offer assistance to make sure they ain't loosing (if it got very bad that is). It would be nonsensical not to do so. The donations barely play any role in the matter, since what they are doing, regardless of profit is breaching copyright. Jagex won't care about time constraints.

A few came back after the bot nuke and return of free trade/wild, but they immediately saw that the game was still not what it once was. Take a look at Jagex's yearly profit portfolio - they made less profit last year than any previous year since the company's creation. That was BEFORE the bot nuke, too, which inevitably lost them more money. And yes - it does matter. Jagex isn't going to sue if it'll lose them money.

@therealWesley I'm far older than 17 I can assure you. I'm a Runescape veteran who lived through those great years, and I feel privileged to have done so. Yes, there was a loss, however the bot nuke caused a mass frames per second issue, which drove quite a few people away, including myself for awhile. It's still being fixed. Regardless. Your making it sound like the company will end tomorrow morning. Go to their website, watch their videos, read the ratings.
