  • I like that cute nerd

  • Superb!

  • This is about as funny as the final few moments before your own hanging.

  • why does he always seem to be wearing pyjamas at standups?

  • The sad thing is I'm pretty sure he's serious about these things.

  • @TheLlamalima Why is that sad? I believe these things because they are true, people are hypocritical, selfish and inconsiderate, and just care about their own desires. We won't die from an asteroid or an alien invasion. We will die out because we will fuck ourselves out of existence. The only difference between 'nice' people and 'nasty' people is that they have a different way of getting what they want out of life.

  • @randomtask32 I agree with you! I was referring to people laughing to these jokes. They aren't really jokes, he legitimately holds these things to be true.

  • @TheLlamalima Fair enough :D

  • "spit in her face. Spit in her glowing irresposable face!"

  • lol this was great. i love it. i've thought the same thing myself as well. why is it that every woman who's pregnant has to act as if she's giving birth to the messiah and we should all pay homage to her snatch. even guys try to get in on the game. but their always amazed at what their penises can do.

  • Well I /was/ going to do this as a monologue.

    >.<

    Censorship!! *shakesfist*

  • Simon Amstell sounds exactly like Adam Hills' impression of an old lady on her big day out

  • "spit in her face!" hahaha just the way he says it

  • Hope Simon will do another DVD, can't always book a flight to the UK everytime he decides to hide his brilliant material in a tiny pub/ comedy cellar in god-knows-where. :) Love his stuff a lot.

  • @MrBazzabee Are you saying that he is the only gay man in the WORLD? Gay men can fuck women and create babies....fuck breeders annoy me sometimes.

  • Deartravistia No ! ...I am saying that he won't be having a baby because he fucks men,.... and they can't give birth to children -That's what I am saying !!

  • @MrBazzabee And we're saying he could still have a baby. What do you say then?

  • Dearperpiotrredman.......I am saying that -Women have a uterus in order to produce a CHILD and nipples/teets in order to succle that baby !!!!-- And that men don't!!!......Now IF Simon "does" have a uterus and milk producing breasts......then maybe I am wrong !!!!! and the day is yours !!!

    Best Wishes MrBazzabee

  • HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa

  • @l0gan316 Cool story, bro.

  • @l0gan316

Holy shit get a sense of humour, or some perspective. Or maybe you could go wild and develop both!

  • Well if we ever do run out of water, we could probably invent Stillsuits and survive that way :)

  • @vrooomuk If you don't like him don't watch or comment, it's not really a difficult concept to grasp is it?

  • @vrooomuk

    Wow.

  • @vrooomuk Whereas you have spawned another block headed goon with no intelligence and hungry for cock like her ma. Well done microbrain now get back to your phil collins and enya you fucking mindless troll.

  • @vrooomuk Er, excuse me.. since when have pregnant women been a minority?!

Lighten up, it's comedy, it's not like this idea of overpopulation is new for god's sake. His 'attack' is so lighthearted, I do not understand how you can take offensive....

  • @vrooomuk how fucking dare you call pregnant women a "minority"

you should be on a poster for child abortion

  • @EnvyPiecesOfRainbow

Are you saying that the majority of people on Earth are pregnant women? o/0

  • @vrooomuk i'm pretty sure the majority of 'anti-breeders' are radical feminists..

  • HOLD UP GUYS

IT HAS ONLY JUST OCCURRED TO ME THAT THIS IS PROBABLY THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN SIMONS ARMS

  • @SejerPangie You had me skipping back to when they're visible!

  • @SejerPangie me too ha ha! i would like to see alot more.........

  • @SejerPangie OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT!! he's never worn a tshirt before!!

you kind of made my life with that observation :D

  • @SejerPangie I think he's shown them before... But you're comment did make me watch it again, and that's always a bonus(:

  • stephen merchant sat at the front in the white tee?

  • Before I remark on this, I should say I like Amstell. He's clever, quick-witted, and self-aware. He was brilliant on Popworld, brilliant on Buzzcocks, and I've really warmed to the first two episodes of Grandma's House.

But sorry, as a stand-up, he's absolutely mediocre.

  • @FidoDido1980 did you go to see his entire show?

I mean, I agree with you re. that clip, but this is all I have seen and I am hoping the DVD is a lot better.

I bloody love Grandma's House, and despite being a Lamarr fan, I think Simon made Buzzcocks even better. I really, really, want him to be a good stand up too.

  • Hahahahaha !! :D

  • My Favourite comedians are Bill Hicks, Emo Philips, Patrick Kielty and Richard Pryor. I'm hoping one day I can place Simon amongst those names; he certainly has the intellect and comic timing. His dramatic, viciousness works well with his 'soft and fluffy' facadé. But still, I'd like to see him go after the bigger issues, hopefully this is just a softer clip for youtube viewers. Hicks did "the whole food-air deal" but he also went after the FBI, Fundamentalist Christians and Drugs.

    Still not bad

  • @DannyHaleMusic Hicks, Pryor and KIELTY? That's 1/3 of a combination I never thought I would see.

I wish Hicks was around today; I can't imagine anyone giving their take on all the bollocks from this past decade any better that he could.

  • @OpheliaDagger

Hahaha so true, I have never heard any supposed Bill Hicks fan mention Patrick Kielty in a positive way. Fans of Hicks usually go for more misanthropic existentially nihilist comedians, and not light-hearted and unfunny vapid twats like Kielty. The man should be taken out and shot.

As a massive Bill Hicks fan, I would advise checking out Doug Stanhope - American comedian with a similar left-leaning, anti-bullshit, anti-nationalist stance, and my favourite (living) comedian!

  • @KingOfTheShrews I completely agree... and if I wasn't already a huge Stanhope fan I would be eternally grateful for your recommendation. In fact, when I wrote the comment below re. Hicks on this last decade, I thought, well, he'd probably have a more eloquent vision of Stanhope's commentary.

  • @DannyHaleMusic are you american?

  • @nicepandas Nope, why do you ask?

  • wow, i love him on buzzcocks but he should have stuck to the presenting, if his stand up at the minute isn't any better than this then he will be homeless soon. Hate that this reminds me of jack whitehall as well

  • He's ridiculously crude in the best way possible. His comedic timing is perfect, and he can make jokes that are sophisticated without being over people's heads. Kudos, Simon!

  • love him

  • What's wrong with that audience, I thought that was bloody funny ! Xd

  • I can't believe Simon Amstell is 30 years old

  • @seantwomey1 NO!

    He looks about 12!

  • @hdtechnologyify Dont know about that. My father is a member of a notorious working mens club and thinks hes hilarious.

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else think Simon Amstell looks like Carrot Top?

  • im thinking of getting tickets for him for my friends birthday but im not sure anyone whos seen him live what do you think worth it and would it be a good night?

  • @xemsker His show is not bad. Don't be expecting what you seen on Buzzcocks though. He is very depressing, but funny. Depends what humour your into, basically that clip is what his show consists of. Intelligent, though provoking story telling.

  • @xemsker Probably too late by now, but yeah - his show is top notch. Just don't go expecting what you see on buzzcocks.

  • cheers. :)

  • Warm up show?! When's that? Where can I get tickets?

  • He's in Soho Theatre, London in May.

  • Its good that he will finally be recording Do Nothing in Vicar Street Dublin for the DVD in November 2010.

  • It's SO good! I saw him in Regents Park Open Air Theatre in October and it was the funniest show I've ever seen! I just got tickets for the warm up show hes doing in London and will be buying the DVD as soon as it comes out!

  • Same man. I went to the Waterfront Hall to see him and it was completely different than buzzcocks, but in a good way.

  • somehow the style in this clip really reminds me of bill hicks

  • i like him but this stand up gig is not 4 him

  • "next time somebody anounces to you the happy news that she's pregnant, spit in her face! spit in her glowing, irresponsible face. cause soon you wont have the soliva to do it."

    HAHAHAHA he's a legend

  • i wanna watch him perform live!!! but i live in singapore....urgh i so wanna travel to britain to watch his tour.

  • me too! i'm just praying that he does a daniel sloss and save us our money.

  • fuck man wheres the full thing?

  • It based on lies that the NEW WORLD ORDER tries to feed you with!

  • @ttimothymurphy - It is kind of, its just not because of us, it's a natural cycle the evidence is their.

  • @ttimothymurphy You're a fucking moron. You mouth breathing cretin.

  • ah this is hilarious. i wish more of his stand up was released on the internet, i cant find any other then this :[

  • DVD please Simon! I'll buy it even if it's available free on youtube! And then put it on youtube.. but i will buy it!

  • i love him. i like him with more hair though.

  • crowd arent reacting tooo well to him :( great shame

  • it's soo true. I live in a small city and now I see the people who were in the classes above me living the same lives as their parents, with children, house...

  • it's typical teenager/depressed person dogma. I said it... Kurt Cobain said it... George Orwell... Herman Hesse... but Simon Amstell makes it funny! It's not hard to notice life is shit and pain; even i did that.. it's hard to make it beautiful and maybe harder to make it funny?

  • @rabbitwho i find that Jack Dee does it better, but its all a matter of opinion...

  • @tcdkal Nah, Bill Hicks and Dylan Moran are the masters of it. But Amstell and Dee are good too.

  • @joeisaflyingfish hicks and moran?>you have excellent taste. what about stuart lee and chris rock?

  • nice

  • is he going to continue touring next year? Im live in sweden and am considering/planning to visit britain sometime next year or so just to see him :D, please tell me if u know

  • @tekqist28

I live in Sweden too and I want to see him live as well... Can't we just bring him here? ;D

  • where do u live? we should make a petition for him to make a europe tour!!! :D

  • Dalarna, so it's a bit up in the north :P My mum likes Simon as well though, so there you have another name on the list XD

  • XD ill be sure to put u both down on the list.

Live in stockholm myself...if only he would come!!:D

  • @tekqist28 I live in Stockholm too, I'll happily sign up for any petition to bring Simon here to Sweden. He's brilliant!

  • JA ,STOCKHOLM!!!! typ snarast!!!

  • Yeah, I saw him on the first day of the tour. He started talking to me during the show. Best day ever. Met him after too. Good day.

  • I like when stand up speaking up on some serious issues. like him and make a fun out of it. :)

  • I definitely prefer him on Buzzcocks. I think he is funnier when he makes his comments about his guests. It always amazes me what he gets away with saying. His charm and interaction with others is his strongest side. In my opinion anyway...

  • I saw him on the 16th and it was just...the happiest moment of my life so far.

  • Towards the end of his run he began concentrating on practical jokes rather than the snide comments he's famous for.

  • Wow. Everything he says here is everything I've always thought. (Apart from the spitting part!) I love him.

  • Yeah same. Just like teenagers going out etc. People that you know in school etc always turn into the steroetypes that other people talk about.

  • the people who went to see him, recently on this tour. what time did the shows end?

  • I saw him last night and he was on for an hour, so it finished at 10.. It wasn't as long as some things, but what he did was amazing! Funniest thing I have ever seen.

  • SEEING HIM TONIGHT :D

  • i love you simon!!!

  • Oh shut up, I'm sick of people saying "it's not music/comedy/art/whatever" just because they don't like it. If you only find him mildly amusing, he's obviously not your style of comedy.

  • Amstell never wanted to rebel against anything. He's an establishment player, from beginning to end. Safe, dry and witty.

  • Seeing him in Dublin next month. CANNOT WAIT :-D

  • Seeing Him On Friday ;).

  • I've seen him now and he was AMAZING.

Seriously, look forward to it! I would go again if I could :)

He's just so so *so* hilarius, but also intelligent, insightful and completely endearing :-D He's very frank as well - nothing he won't say! :P

  • Saw him on Tuesday :D

  • Omg.

    The crowd's crap.

    GO SIMON!

  • is this the only video on the entire internet that has simon amstell performing live please somebody tell me where there is more becouse he is SOOOO funny and i love him on buzzcocks and there must be more live videos please tell me please

  • @pinkyellowblackred I heard his dvd isn't out until november so it might be a while before anything is on the net.

  • @pinkyellowblackred I know this is an old comment, BUT! He quit buzzcocks to work more on his stand up and has been doing lots recently and last I heard has a DVD coming out in November, his first stand up DVD! Yay!

  • /?d=HLDQQY68 after megavideodotcom

  • 'You know who else had a baby? Everyone!'

  • i was there :)

  • aw, I love him, always wanted to see some of his stand up

  • he's awesomeee

  • BAHAHAHAA! he says everything so sincerly! lol love him! x

  • can i eat him alive do you think? x

  • anybody else see this? look at his hair...his lips...his jawline...does anyone else see a hint of Cillian Murphy?

(maybe its because i just saw one of cillian's movies not 10 minutes ago..)

  • this is great!

are there any other videos of simon amstell live?

  • seeing him live on the 5th of october, cant wait! :)

  • simon is brill

  • "spit in her face.. cuz soon u wont have the saliva to do it!"

    ahahhaa.. love him!!

  • I third that motion. Please do post more :)

  • What?! Who hates him? I think he's lovely ^_^ I wish he'd perform in New York *sigh*

  • Don't get me wrong here, I love and adore Noel Fielding, but his stand up is, from what I've seen, not as good as Simon. Of course there is room for Simon! He's got tons of fans, and his career will just continue to blossom, with or without Russell Brand around.

  • He is not!

  • Hmm..afaik he isn't hated but popular! Maybe the guys you know hate him - all my friends in England love him.

  • He's hated? Whaaaat. I live here. Everyone loves Simon. Or they should rofl. He's genius.

  • yes, please more!! :)
