@Candywolffurry1 No, both the 9th Stirland and 13th Averland had female soldiers in their ranks at this larp and both units have had female commanders at later larps.

And at other similar larps there have bin female knights, viking warriors...

Most weapons are made of Latex and Foam, and larping is actually Physical Contact, unless the leaders say no contact...its usually light taps though if it is Physical

The spearunit you see at 1:45 is in reserve. the army comming from the left had orders just to engage, since the they waited for the yellow-black helbardiers seen in the last part. (they had a long way to go, to get behind the enemy)

and in the center it is a massacre... just not realy visible on this vid...

Oh, and there was no handgunners (or archers by the way)

Isn't it more sensible to have the swords in reserve and pikes in the front? Pikes make beter units to hold the line and swords for fast atack.

Anyway, it all seems a bit like a huge bral not a coordinated army. Since I can't see the center I can't say about that, still, units bracking of on their own to engage? ill discipline, get your captains on that graf!

handguners and archers are useful assets... but not as much fun to be I gues.

Still, great idea, quite fun to see the begining.

People dont care about being hit by a pike a single time, they are just gonna charge through the spear/pike formation and get in close. An armored person in such a game (depending on rules and armor) can probably take 7-15 shots in the chest before they have to go down. As for the organising part, people dont spend much time practicing tactics, they just want to bang each other on the head with latex weaponry.

@brutsi well.. not really.. a person in FULL armour, (and that is max RP given) would be able to take 3 and max 4 hits in the stomac before going down.. that is 2 hits with a great weapon..

however most people here has got like 2 or 3 rp as i can see.. so one or 2 hits in the stomach would be enough..

the reason people are charging pikes frontal.. is because just standing and trying to get in slowly can be hard and you will likely die before giving them any hits, unless trained ofc.

I think is awesome that they have a wardrummer. Thats something that you don't normally see in LARPs and it really gives more of a battle feel to it.

When I orginized the first "krigslive" I made the decision to give units with a musician a rule bonus.

They get +1HP.

(you have 1HP+armour as standard)

Most units have some 4-6AP. (hists in arms/legs cost 1HP hits to the body cost 3HP)

So its a good bonus.

All units allso have a banner.

And most groups have one or more persons who don't like to fight... so they usual cover as mucisians, colorbeares, runners, medics...

@thomasbaagaard i commend fyou for the decision, because it adds to the, not just warhammer but also HISTORICAL realism. this, aside from a few minor elements closely would resemble a renaissance army reenactment.
