Thanks, I have just bought my first tin whistle ( Domhnal Na Guen low D whistle.) I have been trying to learn the tune from written notation but was struggling to get 'an ear' for it inside my head. Hearing it has really helped. Lovely playing. I will now attempt to reproduce it starting slowly and adding the 'fancy' bits later.
Yes, the fingering is the same as a soprano D whistle. You have to use the middles of your fingers to make the reaches, though. This is called the "piper's grip".
