WOW. what a sexist scene. If this scene is supposed to depict the the values and mores of Indian culture (and I am Indian), it speaks very poorly of us. I don't know whats worse, the inherent sexism of the scene or the commenters that claim this scene is the best reflection of Indian values. There are so many great things about Indian culture; and, the degradation of a woman and the blind patriarchy of religious fundamentalism is considered the best representation of that. pathetic.
i dont like this video because it shows the english woman liberated happy and free while the indian woman was crying on the ground. Indian woman is truly liberated, english woman is a slave to fashion and short skirts
@KrishnaLOVE100 I don't like the video because it implies that wives should obey their husbands no matter what he does. The english woman here is more liberated because she is free to make her own choices.
ONE of my favorite MOVIES of ALL TIME!!! I have seen this numerous, numerous times since I was a kid. I watch this movie anytime I feel down, and IT enlightens me and makes me even more PROUD of being and INDIAN. I AGREE...EVERY INDIAN (man, woman, and children) SHOULD watch this. This is what INDIAN is all about...FAMILY, CULTURE, TRADITION, VALUE, and RESPECT!!! Hare Rama Hare Krishna...Krishna Krishna...Hare Hare...
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

The "hare rama hare krishna" tune is very melodious in itself, but right around 4:17 it gets very very jazzy with the bhangra dhol!
