This is bare bones. This, to me, really shows what Miley is all about. Seems to me that this is Miley's way of letting her emotions shine through to the viewer. I think that this is the type of person she is in reality. Someone who writes & performs straight from the heart & allows people in via the music usually does everything in their lives that way.
