hey link to tutorial please im new to UE3 but have done plenty of game dev before i just need some help with getting started this is clearly a powerful engine but its a bit odd compared to what im used to all the same link please =D

I'm in the exact same boat man :P I'm used to using the grand theft auto games as a base then using fan made tools to break into and edit/replace etc the files.. if you have any luck can you let me know?

C++ is needed in MANY engines still...for this one engine C++ is still needed just very very little...if you joined a company like Infinity Ward or Ubisoft u would still be doin programmin as those company's prefer to make brand new stuff every time while ppl like epic games use the Unreal Engine 3 to create cools games just not as advanced but r produced much faster

@AndJusticeForAll1231 It can be simple. It can be difficult. It all depends on what you're trying to do. If you want to make a box. Simple. If you want to add scripted textures, skyboxes, pawns, vehicles, custom level/gameinfo, moving doors, animations and CGI sequences, obviously.. its hard.

@20thmember There's a free version up for download that can be used for non-commercial purposes. Just type UDK on google and you'll find it.

To use it to it's full extent, you'll want to know at least basic C++ programming, but there are tutorials up all over the internet to help with that.

@20thmember you can also download it for free online for the trial. You need a graphic card that is has sharder model 3 or higher for it too. It's an amazing program.

yeah i got a 2 gz Pentium dual core, and 8600 gt and i'm running 40 frames minimum at 1280 x 800

UE3 is really easy on your graphics card
