The ZR1 came 3rd and 4th this year behind the BMW M3 (1st) and Porsche (2nd) in American Le Mans. You can hate on the Germans all you want but at the end of the day they make better cars and anyone with half a brain knows that.

I believe German engineering is one of the best in the world. Corvettes have won a lot of GT1 class races in the ALMS and I have seen them in European tournaments too. Corvettes are not just known in America.

The ZR1 is being compared to the GTR because they are both very cheap (for what they are) supercars that on a price basis are the only two supercars that normal people can buy and not just the super rich so they are tested together to see which one is fastest. And the GTR is a supercar and so it is in the same class as the ZR1, its not about the BHP. By your logic a caterham r500 could be compared with a focus st. NOT FAIR

jdcha9163 the gtr vspec has already beat the zr1 around nurburgring. It is unoficial but apparently a consistantly reliable source. The v spec is apparently doing the ring in low 7:22 area. Stay tuned because it will be released soon.

You seem to forget that theyre made in america, which is the only reason they are a good price in america. If you were to buy one in most other countries they have quite allot more expensive due to import tax, freight etc. I agree that it's hearsay until it's official though,

The ZR1 runs on inferior tires. Slap some decent semi slicks on a ZR1 and see what happens. The GTR ran on semi slicks btw which makes a huge difference in corners.

Maybe the GM video isn't running in real time, but kinda "slowed down" due to some technical issues? Not just the suspicious timer, but the entire video? If so, then the whole thing needs to be sped up to match mbaculio's added comparison timer. Then we put the cars on wires, have them do kung-fu in mid-air, with slo-mo effects, and sped up camera short-spots. Should be fun! Kinda like Chuck Norris vs Jet Li.
