i stopped playing this game once reks died and i saw the dumbass i was gonna be playing as. i was like wtf i liked that guy. and then i saw vaan and i was like fuck this game

FFXII didn't really have what we can call a traditional main character. The only people who were directly involved with the main storyline are Basch and Ashe and even still they didn't really act like main characters. All the other characters kinda just tagged along for the ride. Hence, when I played this game, I gave the main character role to Balthier. I mean, he's always saying that he plays the lead role so why not just give it to him? There's no other character that seems to more qualified.

I'm not talking bad about Vaan. I'm just saying that Reks didn't get nearly enough attention throughout the game. Initially, Vaan's motive to strike against the empire was good, but it died out quite quickly. It seemed like Reks was just a way to introduce the gameplay system, nothing else and overall I was disappointed at how quickly Vaan forgot about him.

Kay, I'm sorry. But does anyone have the action replay code for Reks? I was going to get a gameshark, but then I ended up getting action replay. I've been trying all night to find a Reks code for armax that works, but so far, no luck. Thanks to GanstaRice, though, for helping me with the gameshark and codebreaker codes.

I found an action replay cheat to get reks Back! I found the cheat in gamefaqs in the answers section.

You know what square enix should have done. They should have let Reks live and made him the main character. I mean Vaan isn't even the main character (story wise) in the game. They should have made Reks lead the FFXII group and have him and Ashe develop feelings for eachother through the game. Their both 21 so I think it's possible to have had a relationship blossom between the two, if Reks was kept alive. Oh well, I used gameshark and got Reks back in to my party so thats good enough.

i bet mist quickenings probably cause the game to crash, unless you somehow have reks replace vaan in all animations outside of those that are character specific, like cutscenes and mist quickenings

No Reks is more like a guest character, besides the fact that you can use him unlike other guest characters. But you can change his weapon, bandit, and license by useing the big brother - little brother code. Which is where, whatever license, bandit, or weapon Vaan has, then Reks will also have them. You then can later on deactivate it so you can customize Vaan without changing Reks newer stuff. Also Reks can't use any Quicknings but he can summon. Reks only appears in some of the cutscenes.

No i don't think i've ever have the game crash on me. Also Rek's doesn't take the slot of the guest character, he takes a spot on one of your playable characters. He has to be on the three man team or else you got to get him all over again. Because for some strange reason he'll be deleted off your party. I can't upload any gameplay due to the fact that i have no video capture devices. I'll try and get one and load a gameplay onto youtube if i can. For now i gotta go look for one.

I know this post is old. But I do agree with this. Throughout FF12, Vaan and Penelo Held no Weight and were just sitting in the back of the plot! As far as I cared, I didn't Like them! Reks was more interesting because he Witnessed Basch's Betrayel! Dosen't that Make the Story more interesting? It would also mean that if he would've live for 2 years pass that event and the fall of his home, he would've wanted to know if Basch was the one that stabbed him!

How can you not like Vaan? I agree Reks was awesome but that doesn't mean you have to talk bad about Vaan, he has potential to be a very strong fighter and is younger then his brother was...but sadly I will agree he is kinda an idiot :(
