  • problem is fiji isnt "pure" water.

  • I'm doing A2 Physics coursework on the Mpemba effect - how boiled water freezes faster than cooler water, and this supercooling effect messed with at least two of my results :D I'd wiggle the thermometer and it seemed to spontaneously freeze!

  • didn't work with mine...

  • It doesn't have to be 'pure' water, this happens even with nasty Yuma AZ tapwater

  • It is totally real lol figi is like the most purified water in the world lol and unpurified water makes the freezing slower so purified water is faster

  • @XoXHootXoX Have you ever taken chemistry? Pure water is less likely to freeze than impure water. The solidification of water is analogous to starting a car engine. If you want the engine to run, you must first start it. Impurities in the water are "starters" of crystallization. Pure water does not have those "starters", so it is able to be supercooled.

  • i would be like WHERE MY WATER BIATCH but seriously thou you must be like 5 to not know that this is real

  • my fiji water froze....

  • This happened to me with iced tea. It was soooooooooooooooooo cool

  • that is wasome i tried that yes terday

  • Cool! This happened to me last week...tripped me out.

  • Same thing happens to my gatorade/flavored water in a gatorade bottle that I buy at my school.

    Although, I just shake it.

  • im laughing at the people who dont think this is real, if your someone whos about to comment, go wiki up supercooling

pure water thats been kept still can go to below -40 without freezing

  • That was Awsome you rock dood.

  • i swear to you a 2 liter of mountain dew i just opened and went to pour did this. it started pourin then turned to slush and i was like wtf?

  • It's sodium acetate. It doesn't work. I can't believe this scam is still going on.

  • wow u idiot look up how ice is formed. ice cant form without a crystal, so if water cant freeze its supercooled.

  • Ok then if this is "real" then I would LOVE to see someone make some of this "supercooled insta ice" slushy like people do in so many videos and then eat a few big spoonfulls of it. If it's water/ice then it won't hurt you right?

  • lol sure just hope i dont spill salt into it =D

  • im going to make a video right now of that :]

  • Do! And then reply here with the link =)

  • ur retarded. so many people do this with unopened bottles, it has to be water.

  • oh i have a few questions.. no 1 is, can you do this with (regular) distilled water? and second, if the water freezes when disturbed, how did he get it from the fridge to the table?

  • first off, the water needs to be perfectly pure, so if you can get distilled water into a bottle without getting a speck of dust in it, give it a try.

second, he took it out very carefully.

  • .....distilled water isnt 'regular' water

  • If the water is completely pure, yes.

The change was not too big to freeze it, si when you open it, the air temperature makes the reaction

  • definatly not. it works.. go get a water bottle and put it in the freezer for about 45 minutes then take it out and hit it on the kitchen counter or something. i just did it and it works.

  • its not a scam retard. if so many people claim it is true how can it be a scam? plus many people do it with unopened bottled water, bottled water that is from a name brand company with the seal still on it. how can it have anything else in it?

  • How do you prove it's a sealed bottle? And why isn't there any video of anyone drinking it or eating the slush?

"ur retarded"? sometimes smack writes itself.

  • because bottles have a plastic seal on them, and that makes sure it has never been opened before.

and if hundreds of people claim to have done this, and with full cases of water how can it not be true?

  • If hundreds of people have done this why hasn't anyone eaten the slushy aftermath?

Trust me, I want this to be true because it would make a sweet party trick!

  • well, next time i get a case of bottled water i will try.... but my freezer vibrates so i doubt it, well maybe if i put it outside in the winter....

  • lol dont you just hate ignorant idoits on youtube

  • this is how you do it just put the freezer temp. on -2 and put your water in for 1 hour then thake it out and bang it and thats how you do it

  • yea i have the same problem when i put them in the freezer they all freeze how do u do this without them freezing

  • Then you have to put it for less time into the fridge

  • i tried 2 fiji and 8 aquafina i put them in the freezer for about 4-5hrs unopended and they all froze... what am i doing wrong???

  • they lied. its "hot ice" sodium acetate super solution :)

  • no its not theres more tan one way dumbass

  • Can you do this with an opened bottle of water?

  • this bottle was opened

  • Would it work if you put water in it, close it, and put it in the freezer but on top of ice? Will the ice somehow change it and make it not work anymore?

  • wtf?!?!?! ice-9?!?!

  • Tried 3 times with 5 separate bottles and it doesnt work. Always ends up frozen. Can somebody help out?

  • Your freezer is too high temperature or you're waiting too long.

  • oops mistake about the first comment i made

  • we are united po am

  • And funny to super cool water you only need water and a freezer.....

  • i wish i could do this experiment in science class

  • u could just do it at home

  • HOW DO U DO THIS PLZ???!!!

  • one of the best vids on this ive seen so far, you could realy see the water freeze

  • i didnt, at what part of the movie does it freeze!?

  • lol

  • hey can u freze regeler water by just only putting SALT in it and stir it???

  • um no that would just make you hav an oceany water bottle and it would barely get any colder not to mention ud be drinking salt water

  • Sodium acetate = salt

  • what about sodium chloride?

  • sodium chloride is a salt too

  • oh...then thats good too....i think....

  • there are alooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of salts existing.. but in this case.. this is just pure water, with nothing in it

  • thanks for da info

  • oh it just water...ok i understand the concept now...thanks alot!

can someone give me specific instructions on how to do this...please?!?!

  • um yeah go to google and type in super cooled water and click on the web site that says exploratorim and they tell you how to do this and like everything about it

  • Dude! This is sodium Acetate! You people are dumbasses.

  • No...it looks similar to a supersaturated solution of sodium acetate, because both are causing rapid crystalization. However, this isnt supersaturated, its simply fiji water thats been cooled below freezing because its pure enough (super cooling). When the molecules are disturbed or a seed crystal is put in, it causes other crystals to form and a chain reaction starts. Theres tons of videos like this, and its not sodium acetate, this really is ice.

  • can you let it thaw out and do it again?

  • Do your research first! Its pure H2O...

  • You are quite possibly the most stupid person I have ever encountered on youtube.

  • i hate people like you -.-

  • (marleytheloudog)

  • OMG I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE STILL SAY THIS. now first.. you are a dumbass, no even worse. read abaut is on wikipedia, or read the replies on your comments.. theyre thru, specially koolJ is very accurate

  • Holy shit!

  • to fewo of u who don't understand: pure water is distilled water, which is pure liquid H2O

  • i dont get that... but it's cool

  • how to do u leave teh fiji bottle in the freezer?

  • Im confused what is he putting into the bottle and what is the bottle?

Some please reply on my channel of pm me please :)

  • ice to very undesterbed, pure water

  • I've heard supercooling works best when you use pure water, so may i ask what kind of water in considered as "pure"? We don't probably have the same bottled waters in here.

  • distilled

  • Fiji never worked from me. My manager has a job at crystal springs. That water works everytime for me.

  • Your manager...has a job a crystal springs...

I'm sorry but that was hilarious to read. No offence intended but that gave me a good laugh. I've seen alot of them done with fiji water. Odd it's never worked out for you in your fridge.

  • How is it hilarious to read? Explain.

  • Without any other explanation you said "My manager has a job at crystal springs". I know he can be your manager and also have a job at crystal springs, but the way it's there, I found it amusing. It's difficult to explain, but like i said, no offence intended. I found that one sentence funny.

  • Yes, he has another job because working at a cheap food place alone doesn't pay enough.

  • how do u do that?

  • i once went down to the freezer in my garage to get an otterpop. when i got there, they were still liquid. i got one out thinking i would just drink it, and it turned to solid ice in my hand. it was pretty cool.

  • im trying arrowhead myself right now. I'll post comment if it works or not in about 2 hours

  • will arrow head water work?

  • I think he used Sodium Polyacrylate (sp?) or atleast he dropped something into it.

  • It would seem so, but it's actually real. Supercooled water, as I have posted on another video, is common. We see it whenever we see freezing rain or thunderheads. In thunderheads, actually, the temperature of water has been detected below the freezing point of mercury.

  • thats cool.

  • Ba-ZING!

  • omg that was so awesom i did sumthin lke that but i used blue koolaid

  • how do u do that?

  • you can also just hit it, like if you make it really cool in a plastic bottle, then hit it it will do the same thing, only slower, or poor it on something, once it turns solid on the desk, bowl, cup, what ever, it will start turning into ice, then once you pour the water on it, its a liquid until it touches the rest of the ice. Simple.

  • tht was coool i wanna know how to do it

  • Why would you say that?

  • Idiot that aint gelatin there are like 100s of these videos on youtube.

  • how long does it stay frozen? like a normal chunk of ice. I realize that ambient temps play a role.

  • Whoa.

  • Ugh, mine keep freezing around the sides and it wont work!

  • how do u get it to -10

  • wow were do u get those?!?!?!?!?

  • If you drank it? It'd feel a little bit warmer than ice water as it freezes (freezing releases heat), then cool down to the temperature of ice water.

  • I don't know about "super cooled". From my own experiance the water or liquid only needs to be just below freezing. If you get it too cold it will freeze normally anyway. Experiment! try it yourself. I plan to try to ice cube trick.

  • ....wait can you tell me the instructions on how to do this

  • Just shake it up and it'll freeze I saw another video.

  • Hey I do this stuff all the time. It works with diet coke and crystal geyser carbonated water. I am sure it will work just as well with any other water that is under pressure. What happens is water under pressure needs a lower temperature to freeze. So if you cool it down to say around 30 degrees F. it will not freeze. But when you take the cap off the pressure is lowered and voila!!. Instant ice crystals. It is really cool to watch the ice form.

  • In my first post I forgot to mention other factors. I think Fiji Water is not pressurized? But if water is very pure there is nothing for the ice to begin forming on. I notice that the fellow dropped ice in the bottle. That would be a good start. Also try tapping a bottle of cooled water. That will also begin ice formation. Any ways have fun with experiments.

  • yeah but how do you supercool the water

  • Dudes its just distilled water.

  • what would happen if you drank the super cold water?

  • your mouth would get super cold

  • That's a really good question. I'd like to know too.

  • I heard that a woman suffocated when she did that.

  • you can do it on cold mornings. I left evion water outside and it was 30 this morning, I just picked it up and sloshed it around and it turned to ice.

  • Must. Try.

  • that was cool!

  • OHMIGOD.

    THAT

    ROCKED.

  • i actually went "wwwoooaaahh!!!"

  • kewl

  • Hehe He Hehehe Nucleation is cool. Yesh cool cool!

  • How is this done? I know you say it is super cooled and pure, but do you super cool it in the first place and also get water that pure

  • cool

  • literally
