I had to watch this video just because of the title. Anyway, I can dig a lot of what Ron Paul says. What he said about our troops in Saudi Arabia and other places in the Middle East is something that I buy. But I'm not sure about the idea of "It's not our problem so don't get involved." I don't like any violence, but I like to think as a human, not just an American. If something is bad, try to change it. Even if you can get along by ignoring it. It's our world. It's all ours.

It's not just USA but a general problem of democracy. You can't win with good ideas, but with popular and good-sounding ideas. Why aren't we yet rid of protectionist policies all over the world, even though you'd have to be a real Sherlock if you wanted to find a single economist who maintains that, that kind of policies are good for the country.

A country that does not produce will have deficits on it's trade balance. This means the national bank has to print more money to keep the economy running. The jobs lost leads to less government revenue and greater pressure on the economy and the government responds by printing more money or borrowing more money, both leading to inflation etc.

The idea was, he thought Paul was going into too much depth in the particular issue and he wanted to redirect the conversation to Ron's broader political views. He seems to me to be looking for a one-sentence generalization from Paul, while it's obvious that Ron Paul would advocate looking at each potential situation at length in the Congress.
That's my take, anyway.

Ron Paul is a pretty intelligent guy. I do believe he is a little off on his isolationist stance, though. I believe it was Hannity who asked "If you see a woman getting raped do you stand and watch?" It's not just USA but a general problem of democracy. You can't win with good ideas, but with popular and good-sounding ideas. Why aren't we yet rid of protectionist policies all over the world, even though you'd have to be a real Sherlock if you wanted to find a single economist who maintains that, that kind of policies are good for the country.

It's not bs, it's sound economic policy.
A country that does not produce will have deficits on it's trade balance. This means the national bank has to print more money to keep the economy running. The jobs lost leads to less government revenue and greater pressure on the economy and the government responds by printing more money or borrowing more money, both leading to inflation etc.
