Don't worry, it's not always like that when you go to American cinema. The Room is one of those movies where the audience participation is encouraged, sort of like Rocky Horror Picture Show. You don't go to a screening to just sit down and watch it like any other movie, you go to get drunk and make fun of it.

However, the last time I saw it (which was this weekend) the guys in front of us were really on point with their jokes. They were actually funny and they were said at the appropriate times. But if you do come to America, or if they do a screening where you live, you should go. The spoon throwing is always fun. Bring some corkscrews while you're at it.

You can just tell Doggie is disgusted by the dialogue in the scene. Right before she says the "i didn't know it was you" line, he looks at her like, "Here it comes."
