Sort of an evolution of DKC's .... oil, machinery ... fiery barrels .... levels ... can't remember what they're called now... but that was always one of my favourites. And DKC2 just created even more awesome music.
The sound that plays almost every second that sounds somewhat separated from the rest of the song, if you're wearing a headset you'll hear it in your left ear. It sounds like a metal clang. Kind of like "Gaa, Gaa, Gaa". This may just be me, but that sounds exactly like the sound the mine carts made as they landed back on the tracks from jumping in the original DKC. It would make sense considering the similar location of this stage.
This game was the one that made me love the SNES again. It was a rental game I'd always have to play back in my early years 1990-1997. In 2002, when I was 12, games had lost their charm to me. They were turning into movies. This is when I went into a second hand store and got a boxed copy of this game for $20. That was my first burst of nostalgia. It was at 12-years-old. The SNES is now my #1 console.
oh my god epic music as always. sounds like your chillin in the mines. and i love when it kicks in and sounds all metallic. oh man this song blows my mind
This song used to get stuck in my head back in 8th grade during reading hour. Very catchy track and part of the music seriously sounds like the bees buzzing with the music. They even seemingly timed the level so that you were near alot of bees by that time that part of the song came around.
I used to play this game with an Ex of mine. I love this sooo much, and this brought back SOO many memories....wow. Thanks! :D

Great pick! 0:35 is the best part of the track! This is my favorite DKC2 track besides Bramble Blast!

the chanting at 1:35 makes me think of star wars return of the jedi when vader fights luke and that chanting comes on

Holy nostalgia.. DKC2, what a classic! SNES was, imo, the golden age of video games.

Actually, the N64 managed to maintain that quality gameplay wise.
It's just that these early 3d models take away most of the charm from a today's point of view.
