Verizon FiOS Wireless Router - Change Password and Router Name

Will you rock! Thank you very much. On the router page for my Verizon router the user name is admin but the password is not password. The password is printed on the back of my router under Login Password. Just an FYI for those having trouble. Mission Completed ;)

hi so right when I get to the user name and password.. It lets me type my user name and when I go to type my password doesn't mater what letter I start with a whole bunch of dots come up like something is saved but then it won't log in.. Help

hey man i did everything you said and it worked. it shows my new SSID and it uses my new pass on WPA1 to. the only thing is when i plug a internet cord into my laptop from my router it shows up as the default name that the router came with. is this normal to still say the name of the old network user when i use a hardline?

@fetus2genius1 yes that's normal the SSID is only for the wireless. Some routers allow you to change the "name" of the router which should change the name when you plug in a wire, but not sure the version router has this option but it might.

Ok, i also want to change my router information. But I keep on getting an error. The username and password doesn't work. I have searched and searched and have tried all the possible username-password combos. but none seem to work, and I cannot get into my router. So how do I figure out my username and password then?

@TechnoHelpOfficial You can try resetting the router using the button on the back. Should reset them to the defaults. Will also reset the password to it's default.

hey do you know if i can get my router from verizon fios to recognize my 1TB hard drive that i plugged into the usb slot? the online tech said they didnt support this.

@GhostDogVI What you are thinking about is called a NAS drive, Networks Accessable Storage. You plug them into your router and they are accessible from anywhere on your network. I don't think you can just plug the drive into your router.
