i adore this man. i could care less of his sexual preferance. He shows his emotions when he performs live and really touches my heart. Never has there been another singer with that voice, that poise, that confidence and maturity about who he is. I don't think that's accurate. Even the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in her prime only claimed a four octave range (which is still quite remarkable!). If you can refer me to some text that suggests Orbison had a seven octave range, I'd be interested in reading about this.
