Obito's body was crushed.
In the manga he even tells Konan that he encouraged Yahiko into making Akatsuki, Obito wasn't even alive then (30 - 40 years before the start of Naruto). Then there's the fact that Madara had the sharingan in both eyes (albeit swapped his left eye for the rinnegan).

It has been confirmed, Tobi (Uchiha Madara) is not Obito because he have his 2 sharingans. We also know that to posess the Rinnegan you must have some Uchiha and senju power in you. Nagato was a member of the Uzumaki clan so it means that Naruto posess some senju power within him. Do you remember when Uchiha Itachi put a raven into naruto's mouth by saying "it will be usefull some day!" Does it means that Itachi saw all that coming and give naruto osme Uchiha power in order to get the rinnegan?

@blazerider99..dude madara is known for having the strongest time-space jutsu ever!more powerful than 4th's minato timespace jutsu and far greater than that of kakashi!2nd hokage is also known to have posessed time space jutsus but not as powerful as that of madara!inspite of that hashirama managed to beat him!i think it's because hashirama knew his weak spot and yea the earth-wood jutsu technique must be really powerful!

@motocoq the data book states that timespace jutsus have too much compromise- ie drain chakra/too random results etc. So, sage of 6p and 1st hokage never used them. in other words, sweet ninjas will find a way to beat S/T ninjas eventually

Read the manga, then you will understand why these theorist's persist with this "Obito = Tobi" theories. And just for the record, Tobi does not exist anymore. He was a cover up, that the masked man(Madara) created. Now he no longer needs that cover up, therefore, no more Tobi.
