  • I could obliderate a chicken in 5 sec, no biggie.

  • we have a pride of cooking a chicken here, very tasty . and yummy . the secret , bury it alive for 3 mins. if its gasping for air the yummier. burn it moderately. then soak it with high proof gin, marinate it in soy. poach it on beer. then. stir fry it and baste it with tomato and chilli sauce. after 1 hr. let it sun bath for 3 hours. untiL u see the skiN reddish.stuff with ginger and olive leaves. small amt. 4 1/2 before eating Observe the chicken. it wil chirP. secret is the souL still stays

  • @ironmaiden0902 It's all in the soul.

  • imo thats not carving a chicken, thats ripping it appart, theres gonna be ALLOT of meat on that carcass, this may be fast but surely not quality...

  • The chicken's family disliked this

  • not a big deal

  • One of the Best Yan can cook, I miss his show.

  • Gotta love how Martin Yan has fun cooking/doing what he does for a living.

  • i fucking love martin yan

  • or you could just do it correctly...

  • 3:09=wife or daughter?...dont tell me..in my world, its his daughter

  • @pele6922 I'm pretty sure it's the person who was either filming this or interviewed him for the magazine.

  • turn o-er sai, RURURURUR

  • DAMURURURRU

  • he used to do it faster.

  • i used to love his Yan Can Cook show

  • Omg all that cross-contamination!

  • his motto is "If Yan can cook, so can you."

    I can't do that.

  • how the fuck this relates to "how to escape from handcuffs" ?

  • Martin Yan should have his own show on the cooking network..he's great to watch and a pleasure to learn from

  • i never wash my hands before cooking and i have never had a problem in the 6 years i have been cooking !

    frigging hygene freaks shit me

  • whats salmonella?

  • @cheesypasta21 lol yh

  • Most of the famous chef I saw on TV , I admit that they are good cook but when it comes to personal hygiene , they fail really badly . Example, After everything is done, the chef uses his own hand without wearing any plastic gloves or even wash his hand after cooking to decorate their food.

  • Maybe he should switch to decaf...

  • the first 1:40 is enuf to make me never want to eat this guys food.

making people sick with salomanilla and e-coli is bad, i don't care how fast u can cut the chicken.

  • You want contamination? He wipes his nose with the back of the hand he uses to cut the chicken.

  • My mother cooked chicken every week while growing up and never washed her hands while cooking. She went from food to food and towel to towel without ever thinking about it and none of us 9 kids ever became sick. What a joke, you germophobes!

  • Cross contamination huh? Wuss.

From the comments here, I know that: wussies don't really understand the concept of "cross contamination" but like throwing the term around because it makes them look educated, and that they don't know how to cook.

I'd rant on you wussies a bit more, but I think I'd just bask in the warm thought that the next meal you eat out will be prepared by someone who scratched his balls, and didn't wash his hands afterwards.

  • @hybridatomsk Exactly. I would want to eat his food with those "raw meat hands".

  • I want that cleever

  • That's cross contamination when he touches other foods with "raw meat hands". As a chef he should know better.

  • All you 'cross-contamination' wusses leave me miffed. Bet I could wipe my ass with the chicken before cooking it and not make anyone ill.

  • @cuntylishus You clearly don't know what cross contamination is. The chicken would be the source of the bacteria, if you wipe your ass with the chicken, the chicken isn't contaminated, your ass is contaminated. Wipe the chicken on an apple and eat the apple, then see what happens.

  • @cuntylishus this is why we cant have hawker center in north america : (

  • @cuntylishus hope you dont have hep a b,c cooking it wont kill that. then anyone that eats it could get verry sick. fecal matter is the way that hep a is spread and most people get it from restaurants when someone didnt wash their hands or didnt wash them good enough.

  • i bet i could do that in 18 mins

  • Cross contamination is out of control here. Even if he later cooked all the ingredients, he contaminated the bottles he transfers to the back counter, which may be touched by other chefs.

  • and the BOo SacK NoOOoDleS

  • cons of this video: cross contamination, wipped his hand on his nose, threw chicken off plate..... pro's of this video: was fast at carving, humorous, showed a good skill on how to make a drumstick out of a wing

  • @sparky0451 Yes cross contamination is an issue but if he's going to cook everything together it really doesn't matter.

  • he touched the raw chicken and then all the other stuff on the counter...

  • That's a baby chicken.

  • Top bloke.

  • he is so fast,, his mouth cant keep up with his hands

  • even the chicken is proud being 'mutilated' by yan! haha

  • @LuluHeeNim yes it is....

  • this is irresponsible chicken carving

  • In college I worked in a butcher shop and could cut, price, and wrap a chicken in 30 seconds. I also made made 3 extra cuts than Yan did in that 30 seconds, cut wings off breast, drumstick off wing, and cut off pulley bone from breast.

  • Try putting your hand on the chopping board for 18 seconds.

  • $4.95 for that little piece? It gotta be organic.

  • martin yan is a sohai

  • @slickandslie What makes you think so? Just because he can do it and you can't, that doesn't mean he's a sohai. Think before saying anything or posting any comments, you stupid cunt. Kthxbai.

  • @littlesephiroth aiya fuck u also lah. you can join him and shove his peaking duck up you're fucking ass. You stupid fuck. KthxFUCKOFF

  • @slickandslie Huh peaking duck? What's a peaking duck? Mind explaining?

  • only man who can do this faster is chuck norris lol

  • i used to watch his show still loved it..wonder wut happen?

put this as side chop chop c hop..

  • cleavers make me nervous... :P

  • @Will137 try practicing with it. it's the first knife i used and i prefer it to standard knives

  • He was talking and just wanted the camera to catch his movements, I bet he can do it faster...He can destroy this chicken by "feeling" it with his eyes closed...!

  • Martin was doing what Emeril was doing but years in advance, and yet Emeril is more famous than Martin, go figure!

  • why not have a glass of wine and do it in 5 minutes....

  • So erm... Can we do the same thing to a human?

  • Amaaaazing!! :D :D :D

  • Martin yan is the man. Always loved his show, he made Asian food look easy and great. I love cooking that type of food more than any other. Love eating Asian food too, it is the best food on the planet.

  • fol ninety fyfe

  • SWAG!

  • so he actually can cook! lol all i thought he did was talk :P

  • oh please

come to hong kong, all the chefs can do this

  • @robertlplee wow tough crowd. I thought he was good.

  • lol in america a lot of chefs can't do this.

  • @robertlplee just what i was thinking

  • 18 sec? i think is more... he started at 1:44 and ended at 2:06 there is more than 20 sec already...

  • If I wanted my food done as fast as possible I would cook it in a microwave.

  • nobody noticed that huh.............

  • noticed he contaminated everything he touched........i guess is okay cause he a pro

  • @coestar001 - i did... i kinda freaked out when he did. LOL

  • @coestar001

LMAO LOL omg that was funny LOL

  • @coestar001 That food he touched is food thats most likely going to be heated up, meaning there's a diluted threat of any potential contamination. But I definitely see your worry... it seems like all the pros just neglect the little rules - . -

  • @MisturrCronin If it's done for TV you basically throw all sanitary rules out because it's for TV and you've already got the finished product, prepared properly, waiting. Wasting 30 seconds on air to properly wash your hands just doesn't happen.

  • @coestar001 errr ... u think he wont heat up before he eat that chicken? or u dont normally cook your chicken?

    WHAT ARE YOU! BARBARIAN!!!?????

  • The chicken's like "Dammit man will u just cut me already"!!! He's fast as hell, nice skills!!!

  • Matin Yan....his skills are sharp, his knife is fast

  • lol... i love the praying with an accent part... and love that tulip in the end... :) really good.. :P it's amazing how he does it in 18 seconds... i can only do it in less than 10 mins! :( so pathetic compared to this guy

  • I would of loved to see Martin Yan take on Chen Kenichi in kitchen stadium. . .Woulda been a fun battle.

  • "look at that!"

  • He's been performing the art of Chinese cooking on TV in Canada for over 30 years. He had written cooking books back then.

  • haha , 1:57 - 1:59

  • wow....i didnt even realise he was done lol...amazing!

  • Martin Yan: #1 on the Chickens most wanted list. Possibly tied with Colonel Sanders.

  • I feel for the chicken. It didn't stand a chance

  • Martin Yan is giving a great cooking demonstration in Tahoe this weekend, there's a video about it on my channel.

  • I used to watch the Yan can cook ages ago. He is a great and cool guy

  • you take the chicken and you chop, chop, chop, chop, chop!

  • who else other than me was expecting him to do it in like 3 seconds.

  • @iMacromediaFlash he slowed it down for us

  • Does he have to use martial arts for everything?

  • For being a native Cantonese speaker living in the US his Mandarin is incredibly good.

  • This is probably what aliens do to the humans they abduct.

  • @Blopartyhut lol

  • cooking is feeling - martin yan

  • guys is his cleaver product so good also as him ??? :)

  • I remember watching Martin on PBS when I was a kid and always enjoyed him. It was better than cartoons!! I wish there were DVD's of his shows available. I could watch him all day !!

  • Aww... "First, you pray with an accent."

  • matrin yan might as well be using speed hack

  • look up "Hung Huynh chicken demo", it takes hung a good 25sec to butcher a chicken, even more with all the bitching he does about why he's going so slow

  • I heard that he fakes/emphasis the Chinese accent on purpose for you Western folk in tv land, he's actually quite fluent in English with only a slight accent.

  • Just see-saw the bell pepper, like like this, WHACK! Done. Just watched him demonstrate at UC Davis in the Dining commons.

  • hung is way faster, man...

  • Thanks to Martin Yan, I learned how to mince garlic in 2 seconds.

"set it here like a this, *WHACK!* and remove the skin like so." -Martin Yan

  • goota love his accent. been watching this dude on pbs since i was young

  • @lucirz Ditto, he inspired me to cook...now i cook for my family and friends all the time hahaha

  • @lucirz you maltese ?

  • @lucirz me too!

I remember whenever his show is on i would throw everything aside and just sit and watch.

even my grandma likes the guy and my dad idolized him. what a sad family.

  • this one of those moments where "if Yan can cook, so can you!" does NOT apply

  • @JPTest22 LMAO! I knew he was lying about that!

  • @fezan84 lol no kidding.....first Santa Claus and now this.....there's only so much a man can take.

  • She's a shit cook. and i'm sure soccer moms love her, but no one who cooks professionally thinks she's worth anything.

this was really impressive, I just wonder how nicely he did it. Seems like it might end up pretty hacked up if most people did it this fast. Not taking anything away form him though

  • yeah so much better looking......but as far as actual cooking.....i think not

  • LOL...jokes

  • Yep, that's the first thing I noticed. Salmonella special.

  • Don't wanna battle him in a knifefight, I'd be going in pieces of 4.95 each :p

  • One cut! Another cut!

    yeah...don't mess with him

  • ....wow

  • so awesome!

  • What ever you choose to do in life,be the very best at it..............Chef yan !! ni de sheng huo zen me yang ?? yi qie dou hao ma ?? bao zhong !!

  • "i know exactly where the joint is"

  • 1:48 ROFL :D

  • ble bleru ge...blu ble bluuur ble

  • cross contamination only happens when you use the same cloth, knife, or kitchen utensil on different meats without washing it duh.

  • I saw Martin Yan today at my college and he did the same technique. It was amazing.

  • He was a guest chef at the university that i work for and it was the"taste of Umass" it goes on every year and i didn't work this year.. he does this demo and then he askes for 2 voluneteers to come help him cook , so i do so and i cook the chicken he just carved. He loved my techniques and my displayment at the end with all the veggies. But I got a free cookbook personally autograghed by him and the best part he gave me a hug and called me gorgeous! ^_^ It was alot of fun!

  • lemme guess. you have breasts, and a penchant for red bull.

  • He's not carving it he's preping it for saute u doosh

  • I saw him live.. at my school =)

  • Martin has a fake ass accent. He's been here for 25 years working on public television with American coworkers. He hams up his voice for the public.

  • I dunno, my mother's Chinese and has been living in the west for 30 years. Her accent is even thicker than Yan's.

  • funny how everyone assumes shit, they don't know that he could have been going home to a Cantonese-speaking household.

my mom has been here for 35+ years and she still has a slight accent. if he wasn't born here, i don't understand why people give a shit about his accent.

  • Yan Can Kill.

  • lol i love yan but i cant understand what hes saying most of the time lol but he is a wonderful chef.

  • I'd been following him since I was 13 years old! I loved his idea of wearing those aprons with sayings... I wonder where he thought all that... He's one of the best in Chinese Cooking. It's definitely... Wok Like Yan!!!

  • Savagely fast!

  • that is really awesome nice one chef ^___^V

  • Holy me thats fast

  • if yan can cook... YOU CANT! yes, he's an amazing chef!

  • exactly!!!
